After dinner, I went to my room and laid on my bed and started to think about all that happened today. Then I started having flashbacks of my mum death.
"The doctor is coming" A tall dark nurse told my dad who was holding the stretcher where my mum was lying unconscious. My mum was diagnosed of stage 3 lung cancer and she had been living with it for almost 5 years. I was sitting on the hospital bench near my dad who was panicking seriously. It was the first time seeing my dad in that state.
My mum was carried into the theatre room and I did not understand what was going on and my dad was also crying so I to had to cry.
After almost what felt like 3 hours, the doctor was done with my mum and he asked us if we wanted to see her. My dad pushed him aside and ran straight to mum in the hospital bed.
"She is stable now" The doctor said.
My dad was still kneeling beside my mum's bed. I went to go and sit on the bench in the room.My dad came to me and said
" Let's go home"
I refused because I did not want to leave my mum alone. My dad tried to convince me but I still refused. I even started crying at a point. He allowed me to stay and he bought some snacks for me for dinner. He left and closed the door. It was only me and my unconscious mum inside the room.
I looked at my mum until I fell asleep which felt like around 12.00am. I dreamt about how my mum recovered and came to live with us.
I woke up and I saw my mum awake, I ran to meet her. She smiled at me and gave me a big hug.
"How are you doing" She said with a trembling voice.
"I'm fine. Mum, I'm sorry for the pain you're feeling and also dad has been crying in secret for a very long time. I hope it isn't my fault" I said almost I tears.
"It's not your fault, mum's sick okay. I even have something I want to tell you something that you must not tell your dad or anyone under any circumstance. I'm telling you this because I'm about to leave you and daddy" She said.
" Mum I know you'll not die I just had a dream about your recovery and you coming back home" I said.
"I believe it will come true in Jesus name" She said and coughed and fell unconscious.
The doctor and the nurse came into the room after I screamed for help. I left the hospital room immediately when they came in. I stood outside of the room because I could not sit down. I did not know if it was the secret that my mum talked about or the fact that she'll soon die.
After 20 minutes, my dad came with some roasted corn and coconut for me to eat.
Then he said "What happened to mummy"
I clearly wasn't in a clear state of mind to answer his question so he left me alone and took me to the bench to sit. He sat down with me.
"Eat the food, don't starve yourself" My dad said.
He fed me as he was also eating from the food. My dad's eyes were looking so swollen like he did not sleep. My dad is a tech bro which makes him work till early morning like 4am. He has been in this work for sometime. We were even planning to move to the UK before my mum's illness which actually slowed it down.
The doctor came out of the hospital room and said
"She's awake now. You can go in now but don't stress her"
My dad and I went into the room and we saw her smiling. She looked so beautiful when she smiles so we smiled back.
The doctor called my dad out of the room and left me and mum in the room
She called me and I came closer to her and then she said with a trembling voice
"Kira, I'm going to die any time from today so I have to tell you something. I have magic which you'll soon have after I die. So here's something you should do after I die. Go to my closet, you'll see a box near my wedding dress. You know where I keep that right" She said and I nodded then she continued "Open the box and you'll see a key and a paper, say the exact word you will see on the paper and a door will appear" She coughed loudly," Use the key to open the door and then you'll enter then you'll see what happens next. Don't tell your dad about any of this. Please his life will be at stake"
My dad then came and touched my mum and kissed her. She smiled at me and then my dad and she fell unconscious. My dad called the doctor and he came but he couldn't revive her. She died right in front of my eyes. I started crying uncontrollably and my dad on the other side was also crying.
