Seeing his friend return, Rhomann finally breathed a sigh of relief and passed out.
Richard silently turned around and saw that the once peaceful and prosperous Xandar had fallen into this state. Naturally, his heart ached, and his pupils burned with hot anger.
"You're the one who did this, right? The Black Order... You're so courageous!"
Richard smiled mockingly. Supergiant, not far away, had already taken a stance and was waiting. What she was about to face was the strongest man on Xandar, a man more powerful than herself.
Supergiant's eyes turned white, and she muttered something under her breath. It seemed to be a strange and eerie spell, filled with an ominous and terrifying atmosphere. The intense mental stimulation was like needles pricking erratically toward Richard's brain.
Supergiant's mental ability was definitely among the best in the entire universe. In the comics universe, she had even single-handedly controlled Black Bolt, the king of the Inhumans, and nearly destroyed the entire Inhuman race.
"A boring attack." Richard sneered and slowly walked toward Supergiant step by step.
"Psychic immunity? Why is there another guy immune to my ability!" Supergiant's face stiffened. The strange-looking human just now had been the same, and now this Nova could resist her too. Why? Why!
Richard shook his helmet. This was the most powerful Nova suit after modification. There was no other like it in the universe. His sparkling eyes stared directly at Supergiant.
There was a faint halo around his body, giving people the feeling that he was wearing gauze woven from the stars. The wind blew freely, and the mottled fluorescence was like starlight, making the man's figure look even more majestic and heroic.
Richard brought his hands together and casually fired a shock wave, knocking Supergiant several meters away. The gray-white robe was swept up by the aftermath and danced wildly. The woman's face turned solemn, and she lowered her body before punching the flying Richard. Powerful energy gathered on her black-and-blue fist as she struck Nova in the abdomen.
Richard stood still and let her attack hit him. He grabbed Supergiant's hood with his backhand. The Nova Force was immediately transferred into his hands. He flipped Supergiant's body over and smashed her hard into the ground.
The white ground, made of an unknown material, was pitted by the woman's body. Every heavy blow left faint traces of blood, splashing onto the ground and onto Richard's body.
"What!"
Supergiant took out a dagger with her backhand and cut off her coat. Blood slowly flowed down her forehead and stained her ferocious face. Her pupils flashed with viciousness and fear. She had no strength to fight back in front of this man. Her proud mental ability had been broken again and again. Supergiant's face twisted with anger, and her steps gradually retreated.
"Bomb! Bomb!"
The woman screamed hysterically, and the enormous warship above her head immediately turned its guns. More than a dozen barrels aimed at Richard, followed by an indiscriminate carpet bombing.
Supergiant was determined to flatten the entire planet of Xandar to cover up her humiliating battle. As long as everyone was dead, no one would know that she had nearly been defeated.
Richard stood there without hesitation, the corner of his mouth curling slightly, as if sneering, as if mocking, as if ridiculing the ignorance of the enemy before him.
His calm attitude made Supergiant uneasy, and an indescribable feeling filled her heart. Before she could make her next move, violent roars and explosions suddenly appeared above her head. Gorgeous firelight covered the battleship's original darkness like brilliant midsummer fireworks...
In Supergiant's eyes, the scene changed again. She looked pale at the battleship that was shattering into cosmic debris. The Dark Order's planet-level weapon, one of the few in the entire universe, was actually being blown to pieces before her eyes above this small planet!
In the brilliant firelight, countless pieces of dust and debris fell to the surface of Xandar, once again destroying the base that had already been reduced to ruins.
"This woman..." The corner of Richard's mouth twitched, but his eyes remained locked on the outer layer of the planet. A woman whose entire body shone with golden cosmic energy was shuttling through the battleship and destroying it recklessly, tearing apart the huge weapon at extreme speed. Every impact was accompanied by fire and satisfying explosions.
Supergiant heard the desperate sounds of bombing in her ears. With her eyesight, she could naturally see that the one attacking her battleship was not a weapon, but a person—a living person...
She had heard of this woman before. She had suddenly appeared in the past twenty years and had immediately become famous throughout the universe at lightning speed. She used absolute power to suppress countless rioting planets and even dared to openly challenge the Kree Empire, saving countless people and destroying hundreds of colonial planets.
That woman was labeled as one of the most untouchable people in the universe. Even Lord Thanos had told them not to provoke her.
While Supergiant was lost in wild thoughts, a fist twinkling with starlight knocked her unconscious.
"You dare get distracted while fighting me. Are all of Thanos's people only at this level?"
Richard stepped on Supergiant's body, waved his hands toward the sky, and shouted, "Stop! Stop! Look here!"
The gorgeous figure slowly landed in front of Richard. Behind her was the sight of a massive spaceship crashing, like the collapse of Gulliver's giant body. The huge vessel stirred up a tsunami, and overwhelming waves flooded the surrounding area, crushing a stretch of land and collapsing countless houses...
"I've told you many times, be gentle. This is my second home. It's completely different from those poor colonial planets you fought on!"
Richard looked at the woman's nonchalant expression and spoke helplessly. He had fought side by side with her for more than ten years and naturally understood her temperament, but that did not mean he could endure it.
"Carol!"
"Listen, listen..." Carol Danvers, also known as Captain Marvel, waved her hand indifferently and looked down at the unconscious Supergiant beneath his foot. "What are you going to do with her? After all, they ran rampant in your territory."
"Let Thanos come and get her himself!"
Richard spoke domineeringly. The two looked at each other in tacit understanding, then smiled.
Carol looked around suspiciously, as if searching for something. Ever since she had approached the planet, she had felt a familiar aura, a powerful spatial force.
...
Cartel carried Renzo's body and ran into the distance in a panic.
"Wake up, wake up!"
He shouted anxiously at the man on his back, breathing heavily. The sweat on his forehead gradually flowed into his eyes, and the salty, stinging sensation made him unable to help closing them. With one eye open and the other shut, he ran unsteadily across the uneven ground.
Renzo leaned against Cartel's thin body, his withered frame supporting the heavy man. He could clearly feel everything in the outside world, including the sound of the falling battleship, the cries of the wounded, and the violent beating of Cartel's heart...
Renzo's body gradually cracked and continued to heal. The dark purple energy was still eating away at his body and had even transferred to Cartel's body. Purple spread through his blood vessels and tightened beneath the surface of his skin. Both of them were in very bad condition.
"I'm going to die here..." Cartel's mind had gradually become blurry, and the bruises on his neck were still obvious. He was sweating profusely and moving forward. A flash of light landed in front of the two of them like a missile, and the powerful aftermath knocked Cartel away.
Carol landed in front of Cartel. Although there were many blue-skinned races in the universe, she had long experience fighting the Kree. She recognized at a glance that the thin boy in front of her was a Kree, and a pure-blooded one at that.
She frowned, not sure why a Kree had appeared on Xandar. She had heard that a guy named Ronan had invaded Xandar a few years ago, but at that time, she and Richard had been very busy. The battle with the large Kree forces had been at a fever pitch. Unexpectedly, Ronan had chosen to steal the house.
When she learned the news, Xandar had already been rescued by a group of galactic robbers, and the Power Stone had also been stolen!
Carol had not believed the news. It was too fantastic for her, but looking at Richard's delighted expression, Carol could not help but believe it.
"Is the Black Order's invasion also related to the Kree?" Carol said with a sullen face. She slowly raised her fist, and hot red energy gathered, ready to erupt at any moment as it aimed at Cartel's body.
Renzo desperately wanted to control his body and stop Carol, but his system was sounding wild alarms. Millions of neurons were almost all wrapped in dark matter, completely uncontrollable.
Cartel lay on the ground. He no longer had the strength to escape. He had also heard about the woman in front of him. She was the legendary captain of the Ultimates and the nemesis of the Kree Empire. He did not think he could survive in front of this woman.
The gray sky was just like his mood at this moment, desperate and dead... Cartel closed his eyes and quietly waited for death.
The fire on Carol's fist grew more and more intense, like a furnace at its highest temperature. The dazzling fire grew stronger and stronger, and the bursting energy suddenly bombarded the ground beside Cartel, melting the hard white bricks.
It was not that she had changed her mind, but that she had caught sight of the shining golden gem on Renzo's forehead.
"The Mind Stone?!"
Carol spoke in surprise. In all her years in the universe, she had only seen the Space Stone. Now, another real Infinity Stone was right in front of her.
Renzo's origin aroused Carol's curiosity. She wanted to know where the man in front of her had obtained the Infinity Stone. Perhaps she could also find clues to the other Infinity Stones.
Yes, the Ultimates, led by Carol, were also looking for the whereabouts of the Infinity Stones, but for many years, she had only known the locations of the Power Stone and the Space Stone. Xandar's strength was not weak, and its influence was quite profound. It should be able to protect the Power Stone... right?
The Space Stone had been left on Earth, in the belly of the Flerken. Carol was not used to calling the orange cat something like a Flerken. It was obviously an orange cat, with a cute smiling face, a furry body and tail, and that short, adorable meow. It was exactly like an orange cat—the kind that grew fatter as it grew.
...
Renzo lay in the experimental chamber in a daze, just like the scene when he had transmigrated. A person lying alone and lonely inside transparent glass full of white, cold air, unable to see or speak. Only his ears could clearly hear the chatter of the people outside.
"He is a synthezoid completely made by humans. Incredible! Thanks to the power of the Mind Stone, he became the first intelligent life-form of his kind in the universe."
"I've never seen such a strange and beautiful life-form in all my years in the universe. His body is too hard. I've never seen similar material among the meteorites and rare stones I know. He is simply unique!"
"Dark matter is stuck in the gaps between the atoms, suppressing the body's self-repair and covering the neurons. Wow! He's become crippled..."
"Thanos's handiwork. He once created a dark matter bomb and buried it on the surface of a planet. Fortunately, I threw it into a black hole." Carol folded her arms, her voice clear and powerful. "What will happen to him if this continues?"
"Scrap. Complete scrap. The Mind Stone can give him wisdom and emotions, but it can't prevent the collapse of his body." Richard was wearing a white coat and square glasses, which reflected the flashing light on the screen. Renzo's physical information was completely displayed before their eyes.
"Perhaps we can change the arrangement of his neurons, separate the Mind Stone from his body, and recreate an energy core to ensure his survival while retaining his abilities."
Richard admired Renzo's body very much and even had the idea of bringing him into the Ultimates. A team determined to protect the entire universe needed a steady stream of fresh blood.
Carol leaned against the doorframe, frowning as if thinking about something, playing with the blue gem in her hand. She had found it on Renzo. She now wanted to contact Nick Fury. Why was the Space Stone in the hands of this synthezoid? Was his origin Earth? How was Earth doing now?
Too many questions filled the woman's heart. Carol, who had not returned to Earth for a long time, decided she had to go back and check the situation. Although she had given Fury a one-way pager, she could not rule out the possibility that the cautious Black man might be killed before he even used it.
Richard was still speaking passionately beside her. He excitedly pointed at a certain part of Renzo on the screen and pushed up his glasses. With the attitude of someone pursuing science, he eagerly wanted to dismember, transform, and study Renzo's specific structure.
Carol looked at the body lying quietly in the experimental chamber. She was in no mood to listen to Richard's words and fell into deep thought...
