Chapter 178 - Venom Unleashed

# Hawaii

Beach, waves, volleyball, bikinis...

Eddie was sitting alone on the coastline, with cliffs at his feet. Big waves crashed against the rocks one after another, sometimes washing up crabs and fish. Venom stretched out his neck and watched the setting sun gradually sink toward the horizon. The two of them looked utterly dejected, and the atmosphere was inexplicably sad...

If only his eyes weren't staring straight at the beautiful woman in a bikini!

Renzo was too lazy to talk to Eddie. The man seemed to have been crippled after his battle with Slaughter. He hung his head like a dog all day long, and all the confidence he had just gained had been wiped away again.

Looking at the two guys not far away, Renzo lay on a beach chair while browsing the military data in his head, easily unlocking their secrets.

"Dark Avenger?!" This entry instantly aroused Renzo's vigilance, and he sat up from the recliner with a serious expression. "Why does the world have the word 'Avengers'?"

Logically speaking, the Dark Avengers organization was formed by Norman Osborn, with its members made up of various villains who presented themselves as a government-backed superhero team. It was true that they received public support and attention for a time, but it was only temporary.

The Dark Avengers were no match for the real Avengers in terms of strength or conviction, and because most of their members were villains, changing their public image did little to change their nature. Take Bullseye, for example. He pretended to be Hawkeye, as if changing his identity would change who he was, but that was impossible. Even when he was presented as a superhero, Bullseye's actions had hurt too many people, and he faced widespread resistance and condemnation.

But this entry shouldn't appear here! The only Dark Avengers-related thing here was Venom.

Renzo remained silent, his eyes hidden behind his sunglasses as he frantically scanned every part of the network, as if he wanted to find out whether he had missed something that might explain Eddie's resistance to the military. But gradually, as his consciousness continued to deepen, more and more junk information poured into his mind, occupying part of his memory. This forced Renzo to withdraw from the military's internal network and clean up the junk information in his mind.

"I came prepared... This is the first time I've seen such a useful official organization. This is the true strength of a nation!"

Renzo couldn't help but marvel. Only now did he appreciate the terrifying power of the world's most powerful military. A single superhero couldn't make much of a difference against such a massive machine. Even respected heroes like Tony Stark and Steve Rogers, or extremely powerful beings like Hulk and Thor, could be overwhelmed by the power of a nation.

That power could easily crush them, and even Thor might not survive a truly reckless assault.

Suddenly, a shadow fell over the man. He frowned. Renzo took off his sunglasses. A slim woman lowered her head and stared quietly at him.

"Any information?"

"No. As soon as I connect to the military's network, it sets off an alarm. They've set up countless traps to catch me."

The woman's expression was somewhat dull, and her voice carried a faint electronic quality. She was like a puppet—human in form, but lacking a soul.

The unusual appearance of the new body had attracted quite a bit of attention, mainly from a group of beer-bellied, muscular men who stared at the woman's curvy figure, beautiful face, and revealing outfit without treating them as outsiders at all.

This was a mechanical bionic body she had created by scanning the prototype data concerning Vision that Renzo had given her. It looked almost exactly like a real human being. Aside from most of its internal organs being replaced with electronic components, its facial expressions, movements, and other subtle behaviors were still somewhat different from those of a real person, but it wasn't very obvious. It was probably like watching actors in a television drama who weren't particularly good at acting.

Contempt said bluntly, "There are a total of seven agents nearby monitoring us. The lifeguards at the beach have also been replaced. There's a submarine in the sea standing by at any time. There are even cameras attached to seagulls... They really spent a lot of money, just for Eddie?"

"That's right. Just for him," Renzo said.

Scornfully, he didn't know that Venom and Eddie were the absolute protagonists of this universe. They might die, but before this universe had been fully established, this character had always been Sony's signature character for attracting audiences. As a result, Venom was still protected by a mysterious consciousness, at least for now.

Of course, Contempt didn't know what a protagonist was. There were no entertainment facilities on the symbiote planet at all. Their lives consisted of fighting, devouring one another, and then fighting again. Only Knull, the god of the symbiotes, could command all symbiotes. The rest, even advanced symbiotes, couldn't command their fellow symbiotes.

What made Renzo a little strange was that this group of people refused to give up monitoring Eddie's every move, yet allowed him to run around. When Eddie tried to find out whether his passport was still working, he was more surprised than anyone else.

"What the hell is going on? Are they really that confident in themselves?"

The sun had completely set. The sky was growing dark, and there were far fewer people playing on the beach. Only a few people having barbecues were still there. Renzo walked behind a rock and instantly changed her clothes. The same was true for Contempt, though Renzo had provided her with inspiration and technology for changing her skin through Mystique, Raven.

Renzo felt a little uncomfortable. He always felt that if he continued like this, he would end up creating something similar to a Sentinel robot.

Eddie had already left earlier. He seemed to have accepted his fate as a canary, hanging his head awkwardly as he staggered toward the hotel.

The lurking agents were scattered around him, hanging far behind while monitoring his every move. Renzo looked at their bulky crotches. Many women nearby glanced at them with bright eyes. Only Renzo knew what was concealed there.

It had to be a gun. A real gun.

These guys were actually carrying firearms openly in a crowded public place.

Eddie didn't seem to notice anything, staggering around like a drunkard. The beer can in his hand was crushed into scrap metal and thrown into a trash can.

He wandered silently along the street. Night had fallen, and the wind had grown a little cold. It blew against his thin floral shirt, making him hunch his shoulders as he walked, looking somewhat helpless.

"Hello, Mr. Eddie Brock. Can I buy you a drink?"

A sudden male voice interrupted Eddie's melancholy thoughts.

Without raising his head, Eddie replied, "Get out!"

"Ha."

The man wasn't annoyed. He chuckled and quickly disappeared from Eddie's sight.

One day, you'll come to me and beg. The man sneered. Even a mere movie character dared to resist him. He would have to taste what hell was like.

Not long after he left, Renzo withdrew his faint gaze. He had sensed a familiar aura from the man, and his every word and movement carried a style of its own... No, to be precise, it was a modern style. Renzo thought deeply about the man's demeanor and had no intention of scanning his brain with the Mind Stone. Alerting the enemy could be detrimental to the current situation.

He could only watch the man walk away, but... a sudden change occurred!

"Help!"

"Monster... monster!"

Several sudden cries for help immediately attracted the attention of everyone on the street. People couldn't help but stop and look at the men and women running in panic.

"It's them!"

Contempt suddenly grabbed Eddie's hand and ran in the opposite direction of the cries for help.

"Who?" Eddie asked doubtfully.

"It's the Whips, Eddie. Their target is you!"

Venom answered his question at this moment. As black mucus flowed out, Eddie completed the transformation.

"No, this isn't a place for fighting. If a fight breaks out here, it'll definitely cause major damage to the surrounding people and buildings. And a lot of people will witness you and post videos online. You won't be able to hide it even if you want to!"

Contempt hurriedly tried to stop Eddie from transforming.

"But that way, they'll hurt more people."

Without hesitation, the man threw off Contempt's hand and rushed toward the two symbiotes who were rampaging through the streets.

Purple and gray monsters wreaked havoc through the streets. The Whip's arms transformed into long whips covered with dense thorns, like two slender, flexible blades. When they struck a person, skin and flesh were torn apart, and blood splattered everywhere. When they hit a car, they destroyed it instantly.

"Mom!"

A little girl in a red dress stood there as people fled around her. No one cared whether the little girl could find her mother. They only knew they had to run, because if they didn't... the next person to die could be them.

"Erica!"

Not far away, the mother, separated from her child by the fleeing crowd, finally saw her daughter's figure. She desperately rushed over, grabbed the girl's little hand, and tried to pull her away.

Unfortunately, the girl was so frightened that she had no strength left. Her feet seemed glued to the ground, and she couldn't move.

The Whip approached the helpless mother and daughter with a ferocious smile. She loved hearing the cries of humans before they died. In an instant, she lashed the road beside the mother and daughter. The asphalt was smashed into a deep crater, sending fragments flying. The mother's face was scratched, her hair disheveled and her eyes bloodshot. She stared fearfully at the behemoth before her, but refused to take a step back.

The whip came crashing down, madness filling her expression. To her, the mother and daughter would become a puddle of flesh in the next second.

"Go away!"

An angry roar rang out. The Whip's figure froze for a moment before her body seemed to be struck by tons of force. She was hit hard and sent flying. She rolled several times across the beach before barely coming to a stop.

Eddie grabbed Howl's head from behind and slammed it into the ground. This furious blow gave Howl no time to react. His entire head was driven into the road, and then Eddie hammered his body with several heavy punches.

Eddie didn't hold back at all. Perhaps he was enraged by their cruelty, or perhaps it was the memory of being bullied buried within Venom's heart. Eddie's eyes were red now, and every punch went straight for a vital point. After a few blows, Howl went limp and stopped moving.

Lewhip was stunned and didn't dare step forward. Even after watching one of her own kind being beaten into a bloody mess by this monster, she didn't dare take another step.

Is this really the Venom she encountered before?

The question couldn't help but arise in Lewhip's mind. His scent was exactly the same as Venom's, with only a slight difference. Was it the power of the host?

Yes, he must have become stronger because he had a powerful host!

Lewhip suddenly became excited. If she snatched this human from Venom's hands, she would gain unparalleled power.

Venom's strength not only shattered the Whip's expectations, but also completely changed the calculations of the man he had just spoken to. His eyes nearly bulged out.

"Why are Eddie and Venom so powerful? They're almost as strong as they are in the comics. Killing a symbiote in one round... It seems the plan needs to be changed a little."

The man spoke softly. The last massacre had caused him to misjudge Venom's strength. He had thought the massacre had happened too early and that Eddie was currently weaker than the Eddie in the original movie, so he had made several incorrect judgments. But the scene before him forced him to reconsider his plans.

This Eddie was definitely off track!

Venom tore Howl away from the ordinary person he had been wrapped around, stuffed him into his mouth with a squelching sound, and used his sharp teeth to rip the gray body apart before swallowing it down.

"Roar!"

Venom roared toward the sky, seemingly venting the anger in his heart. He turned to look at Lewhip, who had struggled back to her feet. The two stared at each other.

Lewhip suddenly sensed that something was wrong and ran in the opposite direction. She was no match for Venom now. Howl had been killed before he could even last a round, and she might not be able to hold out much longer herself.

"Come out quickly! Otherwise, we'll all die!"

Lewhip was slapped away by Venom, and a large foot stepped onto her head.

Boom!

At this moment, two more figures emerged from a nearby shop. The red monster tackled Venom and grabbed Eddie's head with its sharp claws. The Whip beneath him also took the opportunity to stand up and stretched more than a dozen thick whips from her body, firmly binding Eddie and Venom together while they were beaten mercilessly.

But how could Eddie be injured by such a light attack?

During the first half-month or so, he had experienced attacks ten times more painful than this. Every one of Renzo's punches had penetrated Eddie and Venom at the same time, sometimes carrying the energy of the Power Stone. Several times, he had nearly torn Venom apart. He had even used the power of the Space Stone to rip their bodies into pieces before putting them back together again.

There was also Morbius's assistant, who had trained Eddie's resistance to sound waves and taught him how to deal with opponents who were quick on the draw.

Although the attacks of the two symbiotes could hurt him, they were still far too weak to cause serious damage. Who did they think they were? Knull or Carnage?

Venom roared angrily, shook his arms, and instantly tore the Whip's tendrils to pieces. The figure riding on top of him was grabbed by the head and slammed into the ground, just like Howl had been moments ago. But Riot was obviously more resistant to punishment than Howl.

Venom slapped Lewhip aside, and his arm transformed into a sharp blade that pierced her body.

This was a new trick he had learned. Through continuous training, Venom could also change his form. He could transform various weapons from his body, just like Riot. Lewhip was like a dead dog, weakly holding on to the broad blade lodged in her chest as she let out a feeble cry of pain.

Riot tried to escape, but Venom stomped down hard on her. Several spikes emerged from beneath his sole, piercing Riot's thin body and pinning her to the ground.

"Dirty bugs! Welcome your new king!"

"How dare he say that!"

Venom didn't react, but Contempt, who had stayed with Renzo to watch the show, was obviously not so calm. An ordinary symbiote actually dared to utter such rebellious words! Knull would definitely come to Earth and massacre everyone!

"Damn it! Damn it!"

Contempt shouted furiously.
