An arm as white as bone suddenly fell from the sky. Black mucus continuously seeped from the joints of the slender limb. It seemed to be alive, growing crazily as it spread across the man's body in great quantities, trying to drown out the last light within him.
Black smoke was everywhere, and the entire sky was covered by endless black clouds. The earth cracked open, and countless black monsters emerged from the fissures. They salivated as they opened their ferocious mouths full of sharp fangs, tearing apart everything in sight.
No reason, no rules!
This was a madman's carnival, a monster's feast!
Gnar's hoarse voice spread to every corner of the city, while the military kept sending troops to encircle and suppress the suddenly appearing monsters.
"Bastard! Bastard! Where did these things come from? We don't have any information on them at all. Are those idiots in the FBI blind?"
The man's voice seemed insignificant amid the violent bombardment of artillery fire. The smell of smoke lingered around him. A rocket was aimed at a vicious symbiote struggling forward. With a bang, it erupted into a wave of flames, and the monster disappeared within the fire, leaving only endless wailing behind.
The wailing did not stop. The soldiers discovered that ordinary firearms could not harm these black monsters at all. Only heavy weapons such as rockets could injure or kill them. The commander immediately mobilized tanks and bombers. They had to hold the line at all costs. They could not allow these monsters to flee into other states and spread the disaster further.
But things did not always go as planned. A mighty tank formation appeared, its straight barrels aimed at the rampaging monsters. A sharp claw hooked into a soldier's chest, tearing through his flesh with ease. The monster reached inside, ripped out his organs, and devoured them, not even forgetting to bite off his head.
The scene was the same everywhere. As ordinary soldiers on the front line, they had to be prepared to become cannon fodder. Those carrying rocket launchers were cannon fodder. The commanders behind them giving orders were cannon fodder. The drivers inside the tanks were cannon fodder. Everyone was fighting to prevent these monsters from crossing the boundaries of San Francisco, and their lives could be decided here at any moment.
Symbiotes were symbiotes, after all. Although the sporozoites created by Gnar were not as tenacious as ordinary symbiotes, they could not be killed by simple attacks. Some were blown into pieces and fell into black mucus, which continued to writhe and merge. Along with other mucus fragments that had been blasted away, the symbiotes' tenacious vitality was revealed. After absorbing the other fragments, one suddenly leaped onto a soldier's shoulder and burrowed through his ears and nose.
In an instant, many frontline soldiers were transformed into members of the symbiote army, and the process happened frighteningly fast. Just a second ago, they had been comrades fighting side by side, aiming their weapons at the enemy together. The next second, those same brothers who had been watching each other's backs were suddenly transformed into monsters. They pierced their former comrades' eyes with sharp claws, then tore into their heads with snarls, tossed the bodies aside, and searched for their next prey.
Gradually, the military, which had initially been able to rely on overwhelming firepower to suppress the monsters, began to collapse layer by layer. Each line of defense was gradually breached, forcing them to retreat while fighting. The farther they retreated, the harder they were pressed, and the harder they were pressed, the farther they had to retreat. The commander finally could not stand it anymore, climbed into a tank, and began firing continuously.
With the tanks joining the battle, the symbiotes suffered heavy losses. One shell was enough to send three or four symbiote monsters flying, including the humans they had parasitized. Their bodies fell to the ground, only to be trampled beneath the feet of the monsters that came after them. Corpses piled up everywhere. Occasionally, one or two lay face-up, staring at the night sky with dull eyes and a trace of longing before being crushed into pulp.
The remaining tanks were quickly swallowed by the endless black wave. The monsters stood atop the hard steel armor and danced strangely and wildly. Like tearing through paper, they ignored the pain as their claws ripped open the thick tank shell. The driver inside was dragged out and torn into pieces of flesh, blood dripping everywhere.
The symbiote's face was reflected in the man's pupils, its ringed features lingering like a nightmare. The officer swore that he never wanted to see that face again for as long as he lived.
Then the symbiote sent him flying.
Renzo punched Gnar away. The strength of this monster was commendable. He was more than a little stronger than Thor, even surpassing Captain Marvel and the other members of the Ultimate Team—monsters who could cross the universe through nothing but their physical bodies. This was not something that could be overcome through sheer numbers.
True Heavenly Father-level beings were those capable of challenging a planet on their own, and Thor was considered relatively weak among them.
Gnar's body shook for a moment, but he quickly stabilized. A punch empowered by the Power Stone had only dented one part of his body. By absorbing other symbiotes, he could recover almost immediately, so it could hardly be considered damage.
His laughter was endless. Even though bright red, foul-smelling blood gushed from all seven orifices, the slender Black Death Sword remained firmly gripped in his palm. This cosmic artifact had been forged through countless years of fire and hammering. It was also the source of the symbiotes' weakness to fire and sound waves.
The Black Death Sword was raised high. Black smoke and lightning gathered around it, as if it carried a roar from ancient times, mixed with the supreme fury of a god and bringing endless darkness. Huge sword marks split the earth, erasing the mountains of corpses and seas of blood along with everything else in their path. Boundless darkness instantly swallowed Renzo. The golden light was annihilated by the darkness, like Ultraman Tiga sinking into the depths of the sea.
The mad god looked down upon the world. The last trace of light was no match for the threat of darkness.
Boom!
A missile with a flaming tail slammed into the skinny god's body. The fire from the violent explosion swallowed his figure, and gray smoke bloomed like fireworks in the dark night.
"The target has been hit. Do you want to continue the attack?" A dull voice sounded over the military channel. The pilot's sharp eyes could always track his target through the layers of glass. The fighter beneath him felt almost like a return to the warmth of his mother's embrace, as if he had gone back to the womb where mother and child were one.
As one of America's ace pilots, the man made an accurate judgment and quickly pulled away from the monster. However, the other pilots did not have his instincts. The safe distance they thought they had was no safety at all. Their souls seemed to be hooked by an unseen force. Long gray hair brushed against the wings of one fighter. The pilot's vision flickered, a ferocious smile imprinting itself in his mind before he disappeared from the sky amid fire and explosions.
Another one, and another...
The ace flight squadron sent by the military was wiped out in an instant.
Oh, no. One was still left.
The ace pilot, who had been flying for more than ten years, watched as his blue pupils reflected one gorgeous and cruel explosion after another. The beautiful fireworks made of flesh and steel were as shocking as a ladder to heaven.
"Report! Report! All our pilots are destroyed! Request immediate support! Request immediate support!"
All he received was hollow static, sizzling without an answer.
The man looked sadly at the figure with the bone-white face. Was there really a god in this world?
A relieved smile appeared on his pale face. Then he pushed the control stick forward and charged resolutely toward the figure entangled in black mist. He regarded himself as the last bullet of the squadron and decided to bury himself alongside his comrades.
"Damn it, we can't kill all these monsters! Do you want to escape?" The rhinoceros man knocked a bus aside, several bloody scars running across his gray armor. His horn had caught someone's arm. "Escape? Where are we supposed to go? San Francisco has fallen. If this continues, it'll only be a matter of time before the world is destroyed. Do you want to escape into space?"
Morbius played a very important role in this large-scale team battle. The bat's ultrasonic waves were an exceptional threat to these symbiote monsters. Although they were not as powerful as Black Bolt's sonic attacks, they were still enough to destroy the giant monsters and carve out precious breathing room for the others.
Thompson tore apart the enemy in front of him and rushed onto a rooftop. His dark blue bone wings stretched behind him as he stared at the terrifying god in the distance.
"What are the odds that we can defeat him?"
"Rounded to zero," the chaotic, hoarse voice replied.
Thompson fell silent. Just looking at the back of that being made his hair stand on end. Chaos almost exploded on the spot. The white-haired god tilted his head slightly, then rotated it a full 360 degrees. His red eyes stared at the people fighting below from deep, sunken sockets, and a terrifying smile appeared in Thompson's vision.
Oops!
Thompson's scalp went numb, and he screamed with all his strength.
"Run! Run!"
The roar was deafening, temporarily drowning out the howls of all the symbiote monsters.
Alexey was the most sluggish and reckless, and his large size made him the easiest target.
Boom!
The rhinoceros man was knocked backward by a strange force and staggered to the ground. The black-and-red symbiotes around him instantly pounced onto his body and tore into his flesh without hesitation. The place where he had been struck caved inward, exposing red and white bone and flesh as the wounds were ripped open. The monsters knew how to inflict pain. They swarmed over the exposed wounds, grinning ferociously as they tried to tear the rhino apart and disembowel him alive.
A piercing burst of sound waves was released in time, shattering the monsters. Although the two had no real friendship, they were comrades fighting side by side for the moment. They were fighting to protect the Earth together, and it was impossible to simply watch one of their strongest fighters disappear.
Kasady was protecting his girlfriend. It was impossible for these monsters to get within five meters of the woman. The scarlet, blood-like tendrils swept away everything in their path. The ground was covered in shredded mucus mixed with blood, dirt, and gravel, while the sky itself seemed to have been swept up into a bloody storm.
The white-haired god appeared like a ghost, and Carnage laughed maniacally. His tall body stood a head taller than Gnar, his blood-flowing form standing before the god like a demon. Their equally terrifying auras collided, and Gnar was slightly surprised that his own heir was not inferior to him in cruelty and sheer terror.
"I really want to taste your blood."
Carnage licked his lips, his large pale eyes filled with cruelty. He did not take the symbiote god seriously at all.
In his mind, there were only those he could kill and drink the blood of, and those he could not.
The same went for Gnar. Kasady genuinely wanted to taste the blood of this monster and see whether it possessed the legendary flavor he imagined.
Arrogant!
Gnar stared strangely at his heir. This child was so insane, so much like himself. His eyes flashed, and the killing intent in his heart grew even stronger.
The Black Death Sword was raised, and a sword beam flashed across the battlefield. Several tendrils extending from Kasady's body were severed. Carnage was shaken by the surging force, while darkness spread toward his eyes alongside the blood-red symbiote. Flowing blood covered his body in a layer of black that was difficult to remove.
"Become my true heir! Conquer worlds for me and spread the seeds of the symbiotes throughout the universe. Then I will become the one true god! And you! You will also be the heir of the one true god! Follow me and conquer other universes!"
Gnar had long since set his sights on other universes. He had once been a member of the Dark Council, and although he had verbally promised not to invade the other universes, promises from someone like him were hardly trustworthy.
Gnar did not care about trust, and neither did anyone else.
Slaughter was merely a temporary tool. He was an ancient god, and killing gods was no different from killing chickens. Eventually, he would have to fight personally. The power that belonged to gods had already been greatly diminished. He was not some weak god like Odin or Zeus. He was the supreme evil god of the entire universe, above the other gods and second only to the Five.
Kasady felt as if he were bathing in a sea of bones and corpses. A waterfall of blood suddenly tore open the sky. The stench filled his limbs and bones, seeping into every crevice until everything was stained red.
How could Scream watch her lover be bewitched by the evil god? She was evil. She was an outrageously vicious woman in any universe, a villain who could be thrown into prison and executed ten times over.
A piercing scream tore through the air. Gnar had none of the symbiotes' weaknesses to flames or sound waves. The symbiotes had been bred from the Black Death Sword, not directly from Gnar, but he possessed the conditions necessary to create them. Even so, he had only produced some sporozoites, which were still far from true symbiotes.
The blue fist slammed hard into Gnar's skull, nearly knocking his head off.
The dark blue periosteum whipped in the hurricane-force wind.
Thompson appeared just in time to save Scream, who had nearly been killed.
"Come on!"
"I won't leave!" The one-eyed woman gritted her teeth, wrapping her arms around Kasady and refusing to let go. "I want to stay with him."
Damn love-minded woman!
Thompson's expression darkened. Then a terrifying aura slowly rose behind him. The black woman's pupils trembled, and Thompson's entire body shook. A white bone claw gently closed around his neck and lifted him into the air like a chicken. With the genes of countless Earth creatures mixed within him, Chaos was no match for Gnar at all.
"Your scent is very strange. It seems to be mixed with a lot of other things..."
Gnar's nose twitched slightly as he smiled mockingly.
