Thompson could only feel the life force within his body being continuously drained. Following the bone-like palm upward, the dark god's gaunt face suddenly broke into a smile. If that smile had appeared on Wanda's face, it would have been bright and lovely, almost innocent. But on Gnar's face... it became something uniquely terrifying.
Thompson had never seen such a frightening smile in his life. Even the Chaos within his body was shaken. Blue skin appeared and receded as the ecology inside his body fell completely out of balance. Thompson was the same as Eddie. The symbiote was parasitic within his body. From the moment the two merged, Thompson's internal organs no longer belonged solely to him. His bodily functions were shared by two completely different beings.
In the movie, Eddie was able to separate himself from Venom not long after the symbiote attached itself to him, which showed that his life energy had not been consumed very much. At most, it had cost him a little of his lifespan.
But now, almost all of Thompson's life had been sucked away by Chaos. Once the two were separated, Thompson would have very little life left. Even if he was lucky enough to survive, he would only have a few years at most. Technological creations were ultimately far more demanding on a natural organism than the body could comfortably bear.
"Ah!"
"Tsk!" Gnar glanced coldly at the humble and frail Earth woman. The shrill noise was truly irritating, and he immediately lost interest in absorbing her.
Suddenly, a black shadow stretched out from beneath her feet. It instantly seized the woman's ankles and dragged her from the rooftop. She was pulled down without warning, as if someone had kicked her from behind during a bungee jump—the kind where you plummet straight down.
The black monsters surged forward and backward like a tide, their sharp claws immediately leaving several bloody wounds across the woman.
Dragged into a bottomless abyss...
Kasady was immersed in the gentle land of bones when a foul smell of blood suddenly entered his nose. It was familiar, as though it had always been beside him, as though...
The smell of love!
Kasady's eyes snapped open. Following the scent of blood, he saw his screaming head, soaked in red, floating within the turbulent black waves, staring unwillingly at the dark sky.
"No!"
Kasady instantly regained consciousness. The sea of bones was torn apart by a pair of enormous red hands. The red-haired man stared with bloodshot eyes, opened his mouth as wide as he could, and screamed the woman's name.
But there was no response.
The man leaped downward, red mist radiating from his entire body. The powerful scent of blood attracted the attention of countless symbiote sporozoites. They stopped feeding one after another and looked up.
Scarlet tendrils had already reached the monsters before him. Their sharpened tips instantly pierced through skulls, rapidly harvesting their lives. Kasady strung the bodies together and desperately carved out a bloody path.
The ferocious, blood-colored figure slowly faded from sight. Kasady took one step, then another, before dropping to his knees. In front of him lay a body that had been screaming moments earlier and was now mostly devoured. Her clothes had been completely torn apart, and most of her hair had been ripped away.
He gently stroked his wife's face. He had once been obsessed with that face. It was not particularly beautiful, but it was wicked and full of character. The two madmen had once huddled together in a leaking shack, feeding the rats they caught in the sewer.
The black skin had disappeared, revealing the blood-red muscles beneath. Blood vessels had burst, and the entire body was soaked in blood, like a lonely soul drifting across the sea. A shark followed the scent of blood and bit fiercely into the body. Suddenly, a demon descended from the sky, flapping its wings excitedly as it tore the shark's head away, trying to retrieve the pieces of the body from its jaws.
But he failed.
The lonely soul disappeared. The body was gone. Everyone was gone.
Even a cold-blooded creature could shed tears.
Gnar excitedly released his grip on Thompson's arm, and the blond man fainted from suffocation.
"That's it... that's it!"
His thin, bony fingers trembled as he pointed toward the massacre. Countless black monsters charged toward him, only to explode moments before reaching him.
"I want you to pay with your life!"
Kasady completely suppressed Carnage's consciousness. A madman understood another madman better than anyone. He feared nothing—not even his own ancestor or an ancient god of the universe. In a madman's eyes, there was no such emotion as fear.
The red monster's body swelled to more than three meters tall. His tall, well-proportioned body suddenly stretched into a thin skeleton, with only his ribs covered by a thin layer of bloody mucus.
His ten fingers were as sharp as knives. He instantly tore through the monsters charging toward him and easily ripped out their internal organs. Heads fell to the ground and shattered into puddles of sludge, quickly vaporizing and melting as foul black-and-red liquid spilled across the ground.
Gnar raised the Black Death Sword and swung it toward Kasady's head. Kasady dodged at the last moment, his body transforming into bloody liquid and scattering apart.
"There is no sorrowful god in this world. If you want to become as powerful as me, you must give up everything!"
A madman only loved himself. He did not love the world. But once he had someone and something to love, that madman became a lunatic with a trace of warmth, like a bat born to live in the abyss of a cave. Surrounded by darkness, a faint thread of moonlight shone upon him, and he finally dared to leave the cave and discover another bat.
They flew and flew. Then, one day, the male bat ran out of strength and became caught on a branch. The sun gradually rose, and the female bat became frantic. Once the sun appeared, they would both be burned to ash! She refused to let the male bat turn to ash, so she pushed him from behind, trying to free him from the branch.
It worked!
The female bat succeeded. At the final moment before the sun appeared, she protected the male bat tightly beneath her body while she herself was burned into a pile of ash by the scorching sunlight.
The battle between symbiotes was a strange thing. Kasady was not a Saiyan. He could not simply become a super-symbiote and defeat Gnar's Frieza-like power in one burst just by relying on anger and raw output. Scream was not Krillin, either. They were simply two sinful souls who loved each other. If one of them disappeared, the other would become even more twisted and consumed by their darker impulses.
"You are strong, but you are not strong enough. Symbiotes do not need emotions. What you need is a powerful host and an obedient soul."
The dark sky was stingy, refusing to reveal even a trace of moonlight.
Kasady lay languidly on the ground, allowing the dirty bone boot to trample his face without restraint, crushing the last remnants of his dignity along with it.
This ancient god who had lived for hundreds of millions of years took good care of his descendant. He had only removed Kasady's limbs. He did not open his skull and spread his brains across the ground like sauce before eating them. Instead, he swallowed him with an expression of pure enjoyment.
In fact, Gnar did not particularly like eating people. He preferred tearing a person open from head to toe, just as he had torn apart the Sentry in the comics. He wanted the bloody intestines exposed for everyone to see. To him, the golden God of War was no better than a rat hiding in a sewer.
"Hey!"
Gnar turned around and punched him in the face.
The dazzling golden light was like the birth of Jesus into the world. Countless angels surrounded the awe-inspiring God, raising the cross high to welcome the resurrected deity.
A blue long blade sliced through the sky like a razor-thin bamboo strip, parting the black mist and crushing the ancient god's right foot. It freed the powerless and furious red-haired hyena, who raised the sharp blade high and declared war on the god without advancing another step.
"You're not dead yet... I thought you were dead, torn into pieces by my children one by one, just like that Earth woman over there."
"Fake Squid!" Kasady roared furiously, glaring resentfully at Gnar.
Renzo touched the hair on top of his head with lingering fear. When he discovered that he was still as sharp as ever, even if not quite perfect, he finally relaxed and said, "It did cause me a little trouble. You know, a power bank that's not fully charged is much more useful when you're careful with it. After finally cleaning up the garbage in the streets, my toy battery is already running low again."
"But fortunately, that waste can still be used to generate electricity."
Nall's eyes narrowed, and he suppressed part of his smile because he felt an extremely evil aura slowly rising like the sun.
Like a gigantic black sun burdened with countless evils and sins, something that only divine karmic fire could bring to an end.
Renzo was speechless. The long blue sword condensed from the Space Gem in his hand immediately dissipated. He stood carelessly in front of Nall and said, "I'm too tired. Do you know I just fought Sithorn, the god of the underworld? One fight, then a tug-of-war with that evil witch in the Chaos realm, and finally I restarted a planet along the way. Man, this is much more tiring than doing sit-ups."
Renzo simply sat down on the ground, pointed behind him, and said, "I'm not fighting you. I want to get some proper rest. Your opponent will be here soon. When you transform, you always need a little time. You can't be as disrespectful of martial ethics as you were with Ultraman Galaxy!"
The man waved his hands vigorously and muttered several words that Nall could not understand. Still, Nall understood the meaning: he was telling him to wait for someone who wanted to fight him.
"Wait for me for ten minutes. If that person doesn't come within ten minutes, you can fight me again."
Renzo handed Nall a Rolex he had ripped from someone's wrist. The dial was broken, but the hands inside could still move, and the time was still accurate.
"Wait until this long hand points here. If he doesn't come back by then, you can destroy and kill people as much as you want. But I'll stop you."
Renzo carefully taught the ancient being how to read the watch, then lifted his feet from the ground and flew toward the other neighborhoods to save people.
"Interesting."
Null grinned, his terrifying smile filled with the expression of someone determined to remember every detail of Renzo's face and eyes.
He had not seen that look in a very long time. The gods he had slaughtered in the beginning had all looked at him that way at first—with disdain, contempt, and calm confidence...
He remembered. Those aloof beings who claimed to be gods had once looked at him exactly like that.
Later, they were killed.
Although he had no idea what kind of trick Renzo was playing, Nall was happy to wait. It would only take ten minutes, and the outcome would be the same.
He was willing to wait because of his absolute confidence in his own strength. There was no one in the universe who could become an insurmountable obstacle to a god, much less to the gods themselves. He had sensed that the strongest being in the entire universe was the Renzo who had just left. Although it was still unclear where Renzo had obtained the Infinity Stones, Gnar was more than happy to accept the challenge. It would probably drive Thanos insane.
When he imagined that purple shitbag's face crumpling into a furious mess, Nall could not help laughing aloud. From the first time he had seen that idiot, Nall had sincerely thought there was something deeply unpleasant about him.
What kind of ultimate alliance of villains in the multiverse was that? That mortal actually dared to say something so shameless.
Nal could not help remembering the first time he had seen that mortal. He had been nothing more than an ordinary person. In the past, Nall would not even have spared him a glance. He could casually destroy planets populated entirely by mortals like him.
But...
Naer shook his head, driving those unpleasant memories from his mind. He looked down at the dial. The time had already arrived, but Renzo showed no intention of returning. His aura was still nearby, yet he never came any closer.
Had he given up?
Gnar had known it. How could a mortal have the courage to fight a god?
The Rolex was crushed into dust. Nall looked into the distance and rose into the sky. The sporozoites that had split from his body had been completely eliminated...
No. There was another one!
But...
An extremely evil aura rushed straight toward his head. Before Nall could react, a familiar, ferocious claw seized his face. Five slender, icy nails sank deep into his skull, while black energy wrapped around the palm, unnaturally cold.
The white-haired god was slammed against the ground and dragged across it. His back was trampled viciously, and every bone in his body shattered within two seconds.
Familiar...
So familiar...
Almost like his own child!
Nall thought frantically, and soon realized who it was. He had forgotten the being he had killed moments earlier, before he had even been old enough to matter.
Eddie Brock!
And his little sidekick, Venom!
"Uh..."
Nall was lifted by his white hair. Sharp fangs hovered inches from his face, and an ugly grin nearly pressed against his own.
"You've changed. You've changed. I remember the smell of your heart. It was a little kind... but disgusting."
The Venom symbiote slowly faded away, revealing Eddie's lifeless, pale face underneath. His skin was so white that not even a trace of blood remained. He did not even smell like a living person.
Dead!
Gnar's eyes widened.
There was a dead man standing in front of him.
Resurrection was not uncommon in the Marvel Universe. Many people could return to life through various means. Some could clone new bodies and transfer their consciousness into them. Some could use magic to return from Hell. Others could even achieve resurrection through bizarre scientific experiments involving intact corpses.
But Eddie did not fit any of those categories.
He was a dead man!
"Hohahahaha! You died and came back to life! You turned your back on humanity and became a monster! Hahahahahaha!"
Eddie added several more punches, each one aimed directly at Gnar's hateful, cold face. His fangs bit into the tip of his tongue, and a drop of blood ran down the corner of his mouth.
"Do you regret it? Killing me... Now you're going to be killed by me."
"Are you so sure you can kill me?"
"Of course..."
The dark claws firmly grasped the slender, pale neck, while a pure-black ring continuously emitted black smoke.
"It seems that this ring gives you confidence..."
Five black holes had been dug into Nall's skull, yet he still mocked Eddie.
"You're just like those two damn symbiotes who disobeyed me. Just as weak, and just as naive."
"Of course, you'll follow them, struggling miserably on the cold, broken Earth and enjoying death as it slowly takes you away."
Chap!
The Black Death Sword pierced Eddie from behind and emerged through his chest. Venom could not help but groan. He still felt pain.
Eddie remained silent.
He was dead.
Renzo had handed the Black Lantern ring to him. Eddie had now become the new host of the Black Lantern ring. The ring, which had previously existed only on a corpse, had finally found a suitable body. Renzo's artificial body could barely satisfy its demands, but it could never truly please such a picky entity.
Gnar kicked the disgusting bastard away. He liked death, but that did not mean he enjoyed having a corpse lying on top of him and sticking out its tongue to lick his skull.
