Chapter 88 - Chapter 24: I, Mordred, Am the Best at Stepping on Landmines

At a table in an open-air restaurant, Mordred, who was busy tucking into her meal, suddenly stopped her fork in mid-air. She looked on in astonishment at the group of people passing by in front of her, all of whom looked as calm and unbothered as if nothing was happening.

Leading the way was a female Servant wearing a modern schoolgirl uniform, who had a very similar face but a soft, gentle temperament.

Following closely behind was a young man holding a camera, taking pictures and recording video in every direction.

As well as a black-haired woman in men's clothing who was sighing helplessly behind them.

And finally, the person who left Mordred so stunned that she couldn't even react.

Her dear 'Father King', King Arthur!

But what was up with that figure!

Wasn't Father King only slightly taller than me because of her ahoge, while in reality, our height, build, and weight were exactly the same!

After all, I am her clone!

But what was up with the woman in front of me, whose chest was even more explosive than the Queen Mother's, and who stood over 1.7 meters tall!

Although the spirit core was correct, she had absolutely no knowledge of Father King in this appearance!

Clatter.

The sound of the fork hitting the plate caught Shishigou Kairi's attention, and he quickly noticed the anomaly of the group that had stopped on the street.

He immediately drew his shotgun.

"Enemy?" Shishigou Kairi asked cautiously to the Mordred beside him.

"Wait a moment, master, don't intervene yet." Mordred said, standing up with her hands pressed on the table, her face dark, "There are some things I must clarify."

Almost at the same time, the silver-white armor was back on Mordred's body.

"Truly, equipment so familiar that I never want to see it again, Sir Mordred." Artoria said, her eyes softening slightly as she looked at the child before her, who was filled with the aura of a rebellious daughter.

"This spirit core, this voice... King Arthur——!" Mordred roared, glaring fiercely at Artoria, who was standing across the street.

"Shh——" Artoria playfully held a finger to her lips as a reminder, "Sir Mordred, don't scare the service staff."

"...Tell me, is there something wrong with you?" Seeing that Artoria still showed no signs of summoning her armor, Mordred questioned.

"Ah, are you referring to my suddenly developed figure?" Artoria crossed her arms under her chest and lifted them slightly, "Because after I speared you back then and ran you through, didn't I have Sir Bedivere return the Holy Sword to the fairies? As it turned out, the Sir Bedivere of my timeline, in order to prevent me from dying, failed to return it three times, so I picked up the Holy Spear."

"After the Holy Spear replaced the Holy Sword, my body finally underwent development again, and the result is the appearance you see now." Artoria smiled slightly and continued to explain, "Until my most loyal knight, after a thousand-year journey through hell, finally returned the Holy Sword to me."

"Sir Mordred, although it is regrettable, the King Arthur you were familiar with in your lifetime ceased to exist after being infected by the Holy Spear."

Daniel's brow twitched upon hearing this.

As a bystander, to him, Artoria's declaration just now sounded like she was mocking Mordred for never having a chance to develop, as if she were showing off to her.

"That... timeline of yours?" The ferocious look on Mordred's face gradually faded, and confusion began to cover her features.

"Yes, although the general situation that happened in your timeline is more or less the same—it was also after you rebelled that I ran you through—it seems that the version of me in this timeline did not pick up the Holy Spear."

"Therefore, to you, I am just a King Arthur from an unrealized IF timeline." Artoria looked at Mordred and said, "However, for me, this is the second time I have seen you appear before me as a Servant."

"The second time... It seems my rebellion failed again last time." Mordred twitched the corner of her mouth and sneered at Artoria.

"Rebellion? Unfortunately, the you I saw last time was not a rebellious knight." Artoria shook her head and replied, "But a member of the new Knights of the Round Table whom I trusted, a knight who continued to offer her loyalty and life to me."

"Eh? Me?" Mordred looked at Artoria in astonishment, pointing at herself in disbelief, "You mean, I, the culprit who caused Britain to be overturned, fought for you under your command once again?"

Suppressing the surprise and trepidation in her heart, Mordred forced an angry expression.

"Don't joke around!"

"Ah, it's not a joke." Sanzang raised her hand from the side and replied, "At that time, I was on the side hostile to your new Knights of the Round Table. By the way, it was actually me who perished together with you back then."

"Baka bakashi!" Mordred was embarrassed and angry.

Shishigou Kairi couldn't help but let out a burp.

As a result, he was scared into covering his mouth by Mordred's glare.

Although she didn't know if what that black-haired woman in the suit said was true or false, Mordred was certain of one thing.

The King would never lie to her!

After all, back then, even if she had just lied and said she would cultivate her as her heir, she definitely would never have walked down that path.

But she never once told a lie!

Therefore, in some Holy Grail War, she really had been a member of the new Knights of the Round Table, following behind Father King and swinging her sword for her!

Damn it!

I'm so envious of that guy!

I really want to kill that guy and take her place!

"Since you and I have the opportunity to meet in the Holy Grail War, the result goes without saying." Mordred raised her Clarent, pointing the tip at Artoria, "King Arthur! Manifest your armor, and fight me to the death!"

"Then, Mordred, what do you think is the reason that, given your personality, you would rejoin my command and become a member of the new Knights of the Round Table after seeing me again?" Artoria did not directly respond to Mordred's provocation, but instead continued to ask.

Mordred's expression stiffened.

"I-it must be because there was no suitable master!" Mordred twitched the corner of her mouth and pointed to Shishigou Kairi, "But this time it's different! This time I have a super compatible master!"

"Is that so." The smile on Artoria's face faded, and her eyes became sharp, "I didn't expect you to think that way. That is truly a pity, because the last time we met, your master was me."

Mordred's expression became even stiffer.
