"News came out last night about Angela's case," Sydney said when I didn't answer him. "There will be more information announced concerning the case in two days."
"Probably a fixed date for the preliminary hearing. Shit may take a fucking year or more to conclude. The killer almost certainly has to be Chris," Jamie added.
"Chris?" Sydney shook his head. "I doubt that. It's probably Isla." He gestured lazily to one of the domestic staff. "Bring us a drink." The man nodded quickly and disappeared toward the kitchen.
Sydney turned back to me, eyeing my cold expression. "And why are you looking at your brother like that?"
"With what backing?" I asked, turning my gaze to Jamie. There were possibilities that it could be Chris, but Isla? That was absurd.
"I can't exactly accuse you, because I want to trust in you..." Sydney cleared his throat, "...as family, so to speak. But if we're being completely honest, you're the next most logical option."
