"This is a letter from my sister," Izuku said, picking up the item on top of the package.
"Midoriya, could you read it out loud?" Tenya Iida asked, pressing his hands together. "I know it's private, but we're all curious."
"…Alright."
Izuku opened the envelope and unfolded the letter.
"I'll start. 'Dear Jonah—'"
"Wait, Jonah?" someone interrupted.
"That's just an alias I use," Izuku said. "Don't worry about it. I'll continue."
He went on reading:
"'Dear Jonah, it's been two years since you last visited me. I still remember how you looked back then, always smiling like an angel. Even the unpleasant memories I had before seemed to fade away because of you. Do you remember the promise we made? We swore that once you got into U.A., you would come visit me again. I've never forgotten that.'"
Izuku paused briefly, then continued.
"'I don't know when you gained your Quirk, but as someone who doesn't have one, I'm truly happy for you. When I saw your performance at the Sports Festival, I felt proud. I could even brag that you're my little brother. By the way, your childhood friend must have seen it too, right? You used to say he would get into U.A. as well. You still have that half of the photo, don't you? Don't lose it. You said it was a keepsake between the two of you.'"
He turned the page.
"'Also, since you did so well at the Sports Festival, I prepared some gifts for you. The clothes in the package, some recent photos of me, and my newly published novel are all for you. Make sure you wear the clothes and send me a picture. —Koko.'"
Izuku let out a long breath after finishing.
"She really wrote a lot…"
He glanced back at the box.
"Recent photos… If she's still in Hainan, then…"
He reached inside and pulled out a black booklet.
"Koko's photo album?"
Curious, he opened it.
"…Yeah, that's her style. I should probably put this away."
"Wait, let us see it first!" Minoru Mineta snatched the album, immediately joined by Denki Kaminari.
The moment they opened the first page—
Both of them froze.
Then, almost simultaneously, their noses started bleeding.
"That's unreal…!"
"Seriously, that figure…!"
Kaminari collapsed on the spot.
Mineta followed right after. "This is way beyond normal… Midoriya, I'm jealous…"
"Is it really that exaggerated?" Ochaco Uraraka asked, picking up the album.
She glanced at the first page—
Her face immediately turned bright red, and she stiffened.
"She's… really beautiful…"
Gathering herself, Uraraka flipped to the next page.
"Huh? The rest aren't like that."
She looked through the photos more carefully.
"They're just pictures of her traveling… and a lot of these look edited. Midoriya, you're in them too."
Izuku nodded.
"I asked her before to help me take some photos in China, so she edited me into them. She usually sends something like this around the New Year… I'm not sure why it came now."
He paused, then added,
"Actually… she might send another one this year."
"What? Another one?!" Mineta and Kaminari instantly revived.
"Don't look at me like that," Izuku said, waving his hands. "I'm just guessing."
"You two are hopeless," Kyoka Jiro said, striking both of them with her earphone jacks.
The two immediately collapsed again.
