After parting with her sister Lena slowly understands her state, she is in. She doesn't want to embarrass herself. The sudden hit of realisation made her to stop grieving, then she wiped her tears and looked at the man steering the carriage.
"Finally, it looks like your mind is in a clear state Lena". Martin hands over a jar of water to her.
"Here have some you must be thirsty". Lena grabs the jar and tries to drink but she couldn't of her loss of strength as the result of being punished for the sin she had not committed.
"You may not remember me princess, but I have seen you before in the moon palace once. you were an innocent girl chasing after a butterfly in the garden. To see you in this state, what really happened to change you like this". He asked his voice filled with sorrow
"Raven never told me the full story, she just asked me to take you under my wing and teach you how to defend yourself. So, if it's fine with you can share it with me".
She leaned on the carriage her face is now a mix of anger and regret. She began to speak " I loved a mortal from the Kalyug realm, his name is Arthur Brooke, every moment I shared with him it felt like euphoria'.
She swallows hardly before continuing " But to think all that smile and sweet words was fake it pains me. And I hate myself for being a fool, that vile man faked to love me to get our moon palace's relic of longevity. You know what happened next".
"So, what have you and my sister planned for me. I couldn't speak about it with her before as I was not conscious". She asks without any emotion.
"Well, she asked me to join you in my squad and make you a warrior so you can fend off your pursuers by yourself and also get you a strong position among the ranks in the divine army, but". He makes a pause " If you want me, it to arrange a small house for you in the outskirts where your people can't reach you, I can do that for you as well".
With resolve in her voice " No I want to join the army'. She looks into his eyes "Please My Lord".
"It is not going to be easy as this is no child's play, and I don't like people who train for revenge nor redemption. You should have passion for it, are you still willing". He asks sternly.
Without batting her eyes, she replied "Please train me, My Lord".
"Very well then, from now onwards you're under my wing and I am your Captain". He smiles.
"I Martin Johnathan, the captain of the 17th Royal Guards Unit of the Divine Army hereby swear that to protect you and mold you into a fine warrior". He grins as he is true to his words.
Lena's face suddenly turned pale "Will she manage on her own to debate with the elders. I am worried about her".
He laughs for a minute "Don't you worry kid, your sister is not a queen for name's sake. She is the mighty Raven Nightfall".
