Chapter 4 - The Price of Power

Lena took a deep breath, her heart pounding in her chest . She nodded, and Elian led her into the clock tower . The air inside was thick with dust and the scent of decay . As they climbed the creaky stairs, Lena's phone buzzed in her pocket – a text from Rachel: "Hey, where are you? " She ignored it, her focus on Elian.

At the top, Elian stopped at a door hidden behind a cobweb-covered clock face . He pushed it open, revealing a room filled with candles, strange symbols etched into the walls, and a single chair in the center .

"Sit," Elian said, his voice commanding. "It's time you understood your power, Lena."Lena hesitated for a moment, her eyes scanning the room .The symbols on the walls seemed to pulse with a malevolent energy, and the candles cast eerie shadows on the walls . But she took a deep breath, and sat down in the chair . It felt like a trap, but she was in too deep to back out now .

Elian smiled, his eyes gleaming with approval . He began to chant in a language Lena didn't understand, his voice rising and falling like a wave . The symbols on the walls began to glow brighter, and Lena felt a strange energy building inside her .

Suddenly, visions flooded her mind – images of her past, of her friends, of the entity's dark realm . Lena tried to push them away, but Elian's voice grew louder, urging her to surrender . Sounds like you're ready for the next part .

Lena's gut was screaming at her to run, but her curiosity kept her glued to the spot . She slowly lowered herself into the chair, trying to keep her cool . The chair felt cold and sticky, like it hadn't been used in years.

Elian's eyes never left hers, his gaze intense and unnerving 👀. "The entity's power is inside you, Lena," he said, his voice dripping with conviction. "It's time you learned to harness it ."

He raised his hand, and the candles on the walls flared to life . The symbols etched into the walls began to pulse with a malevolent energy, and Lena felt a shiver run down her spine .

Suddenly, Elian's phone rang, breaking the spell . He frowned, pulling it out to silence it . "Not now," he muttered, his eyes flashing with irritation .

Lena's eyes darted to the door, calculating her chances of making a break for it . But Elian's intense gaze was back on her, and she felt a weird energy binding her to the chair . The phone stopped ringing, and an awkward silence fell over the room .

Elian's expression smoothed out, and he tucked his phone away . "As I was saying," he continued, his voice smooth like silk , "the entity's power is a gift. But it comes with a price . Are you ready to pay it?"

The shadows in the room seemed to be closing in, and Lena felt her heart racing faster.
