Kevin sat behind his desk, his attention fixed on the documents in front of him, but his mind was elsewhere.
It had been six days since Loretta's accident.
She was still in the hospital, still unconscious, but her condition had improved slightly. The doctors were no longer as worried about her immediate stability as they had been during the first three days. However, she remained in a critical condition, and the next twenty-four hours were still important.
Andy stood across from his desk with a laptop in his hands.
"Any update on the accident?" Kevin asked.
Andy immediately opened the file he had been investigating. "We've gone through the truck driver's background. His name was registered to the delivery company, and he had been working there for about six months."
Kevin looked up. "Nothing suspicious?"
