The teacher continued, smiling: "Thousands of years ago, God created this world and endowed its inhabitants with supernatural powers; they could control fire, ice, rocks, and other forces..."
The world evolved in a terrifying way, and they achieved things we have not yet attained in our time... But there was a hidden enemy that destroyed this progress in an instant.
Their enemy was no stranger to them; rather, it lived deep within them...
Their enemy was greed—greed for power and greed for gain.
In an instant, war broke out between the forces of fire and their allies, and the forces of ice and their allies.
The war did not end with anyone's victory; rather, it ended with the demise of them all, and the end of everything they had built.
And as the years passed, humans became ordinary, without any power to speak of… just people.
Veronica looked at the teacher:
"Did anyone survive?"
The teacher:
"Of course, Veronica. In every war, there are survivors."
Another student spoke up:
"Where are they? Where are the survivors?"
The teacher:
"They're here…" (She looked at Veronica with a smile)
"In this world… And if they ever gather, we'll face another war, one that will freeze the ground beneath our feet… and set the sky ablaze above us."
