Xie realized that if she were a low-level orc, he would have pinned her by now. Her resilience was becoming a problem; if this dragged on, he would be in a difficult position once her mate returned.
He finally unsheathed his sharp nails. He hadn't wanted to cause her lasting harm, but since she was proving so troublesome, he decided it was time she felt some pain.
As he lunged, Euphoria narrowly dodged, but his claws still left two bleeding furrows on her skin.
When Xie finally managed to clamp a hand onto her shoulder, his nails sinking into her flesh, Euphoria didn't even flinch. Ignoring the agony, she drove her body downward, simultaneously slashing her dagger into the arm that held her.
