Adrian mouthed for one last time
"Fine, I accept your proposal."
The white ball of light that calls itself Hastur chuckled to itself and said
"So be it, let's begin the ritual. You're smart, so you'll learn everything you need to do once you wake up."
Adrian quickly interrupted the white ball of light to state,
"Hold on, if you're going to regress me, make sure it's before my mother's death!"
The white ball of light looked at Adrian before continuing the ritual, "that I can't do little one. I'm already overstaying my welcome by doing this."
Before Adrian can protest he is sent into a portal that sucks him in with incredible speed and velocity.
inside the portal he could faintly see the spinning of a clock, moving rapidly not towards the future but towards the past before he can see anymore he ended up blacking out

as Adrian was opening his eyes he saw a familiar ceiling, the ceiling of his bedroom
he overheard the sound of a servant talking as he was slowly getting up from his bed
"He woke up"
When Adrian got up he felt an intense headache piercing through his head, it wasn't just the normal headache he got after waking up, something common due to his naturally poor constitution.
...It was something more violent than that; it was a headache that arrived due to the overload of information flooding his head.
Despite being in visible pain no servant tried to go and help him, Adrian chuckled to himself as he recalled that this sort of treatment was what he was used to during his stay at the imperial palace.
Whatever the case it doesn't matter now what matters more is organizing all the information in his head .
'first lets check what day is it' Adrian thought to himself then he looked at the closest servant, a butler who seems to be near retirement age
"Hey you, what month and year is it?"
the butler obviously confused by such an odd question answered reluctantly
"your highness its the 10th month of the 7881 imperial year"
'7881 imperial year.. i died when it was the 7884rd year when i died.. so that means i have three years' Adrian rubs his temple and starts thinking more about the information he received then his eyes widen.
"no this cant be?" Adrian accidentally speaks out loud prompting the servants to look at him confusingly.
Adrian commands everyone to leave his room then he sits down cold sweat dripping down his back 'I'm a part of a novel?' just thinking the thought at a surface level made him so sick to the point he was forced to head towards the bathroom connected to his bedroom to vomit whatever he had for breakfast that day out
"T-This has to be a joke right? it has to be a lie it can't be real i mean how could it be, who would ever believe a lie as unbelievable as that?"
despite Adrian's mind declining the idea of it a part of his heart still couldn't help but believe it to be true
"I did experience some sort of regression but that thing can't be trusted"
then a horrifying thought flashed through Adrian's head and without thinking he mutters out the words
"Status window." right then a translucent screen appeared in front of him, reminiscent of the warning window he saw when he was in his soul form in it his information was displayed

Adrian, immersed in the status panel, is suddenly caught off guard as he notices the error in front of him and yells out "Culling!?" as he finished yelling out intense pain akin to one's skin being torn apart Adrian screamed "aghh!" as his body convulsed
As Adrian was about to die from the pain another message appeared, this window having a red tinted hue [skill ??? has activated, hacking the hostile system has started!!]
after the skill message rung Adrian noticed that the pain had dulled a bit, and after a while stopping completely leaving a message in front of Adrian's eyes

Adrian got up from the cold floor and tried to recompose himself from the intense bout of pain he had just experienced, after his breathing became stable again he noticed the name being mentioned "Hastur" he whispered to himself the pain still visible in his voice
'so he wasn't lying after all it appears that this is truly the world of a novel.'
Adrian thought to himself this horrifying thought and laid in his bed unmoving looking as if not a thought in the world was going through his head but the truth was the exact opposite "all a novel.."

"What's wrong with the prince?" one servant asked another
"ah that pitiful sack? no idea he's been in his room for a week now" the servant shrugged his arms and continued to finish his work
"Hey! you can't call the prince something like that, that can get you in trouble you know!" said the servant while looking around nervously to see if anyone else overheard them
"dont worry about it" the uncaring servant said as he tried to get rid of any earwax from his ear "no one cares about that prince, he's the most pitiful prince after all," he said as if it's the most basic knowledge to exist
"even then!" the nervous servant replied "the princess still really likes the prince! haven't you seen how worried she's been for him, she's been knocking on his door non stop since the start of the week!"
the uncaring servant pondered for a second before replying "and?" the servant had his arms open and swung around himself "do you see the princess anywhere near her-" right as he was about to finish his sentence he notices the princess standing with an angry expression formed on her face
"you're fired by the way" she just barely managed to form a smile

Princess Kaya has been going through a big problem, her brother has been ignoring her!
She sat down in front of her brother's door as she let out a big sigh ".. this makes it the 7th time ive been ignored!" Kaya looks frustrated as she tries thinking of a reason
"i wish he'd tell me why he is ignoring me i've already done a thorough check on everyone in the palace and no one is at fault for his way of acting!" she then looks as if she might have figured out what's wrong but then deflates like a balloon
"it's not his health since he rejects it when we bring a palace doctor so just what is it?!" she frustratingly grips her hair with anger that's best to be described as a rabbit stomping down on the ground
Just as she was about to get up, the door behind her opened, which made her fall, hurting her head. "Oww!" she grimaced
'huh? the door opened? wait if that' s the case then' she quickly got up to look at the owner of the room she'd been trying to enter for the past 7 days
"brother!" she said with extreme glee.
the recipient looked at her with a soft smile
"Kaya, you've been doing well i hope? sorry for ignoring you"
Kaya noticed that her brother seemed extra tired as if he hasn't had a wink of sleep the past 7 days so she bewilderedly says
"oh my god you haven't been taking care of yourself at all have you?" she cupped both of his cheeks together which made him do a funny looking face "your cheeks have deflated so bad we need to take care of that"
Adrian put her hands down and looked her dead in the eye and with a serious tone as he said "we can deal with that later, i want to talk to you about something important Kaya"
