'7 day's passed. i have been staring at the same ceiling with the same thoughts for 7 day's i know i shouldn't be wasting time here, but how could i care? it's all a novel anyway' Adrian thought to himself 'i could be sitting here doing nothing and the story would still end up going how the author liked'
... 'but.' Adrian gets up from his bed heading toward a secluded corner of his room with a blackboard 'who says that's the case?' he circles around the word centered in the middle 'omnipotent' 'i have been thinking about this as thoroughly as possible the past 7 day's
'in a normal scenario where everyone doesn't know they aren't a part of anything you could say the one who knows is omnipotent since everyone is following a set script' Adrian's eyes concentrate on the left side of the blackboard which houses pictures of the supposed main characters of the novel
'then what happens when someone like me comes into the picture? then the author isn't omnipotent anymore and it goes without mentioning that hastur is also in the picture, he's the one who saved me after all, however" Adrian's face seems uncertain 'whether he chose to save me out of goodwill or something else is something still up in the air'
adrian slaps his face lightly to concentrate and says
"that should clear itself given enough time he did tell me id figure out what he wanted to gain from this on my own so it should be fine!"
knock knock
"brooother i know you're in there are you really going to ignore me again?? this is the 7th time!!"
Adrian's face once he knew who was on the other side of the door was a bag of mixed feelings
but he knew he couldn't keep on ignoring the present (or well the past) so he reached for the door

"you said you wanted to talk to me, brother?" Kaya asked in a curious tone
Adrian replied "That is correct, however you have to promise me something Kaya, that what we are going to say here will strictly remain between us and please put a noise silencer spell on the room"
"i mean sure of course if that's what you want then that's a simple request" Kaya looked confused but listened to her brother nevertheless
Adrian with a serious tone of voice and body language looked at Kaya "I think i have been getting poisoned, i don't know when it started but what i do know is that its been going on-"
Kaya shocked at the words her brother just told her got up from her chair and loudly said "what!?" but after understanding the severity of the situation she sat back down and talked calmly "what do you mean? are you serious right now? and is that why you've had weak magic? but that doesn't make sense we've had the best physicians in the empire look at you but we never figured out the reason for your magic"
Adrian felt prickled by the intense barrage of questions from his sister but tried to reply to them as calmly as possible "yes i am wholly serious right now, something has been blocking my magic for a long while, however i don't think it's poison in the way you think it is"
Kaya looked confused for a second then understood what her brother meant
despite the silence spell she still got closer to Adrian and whispered "do you suspect it is magic poisoning?"
Adrian nodded "yes im under the suspicion that its a magic spell that's been poisoning me since childhood"
Kaya thought about it for a while before replying "but that doesn't make sense does it? if foreign magic was in you even a third rate physician would notice it and report it instantly"
Adrian not skipping a beat replied "who said its foreign magic"
Kaya's eyes widened "it cant be what im thinking of... is it?" she felt shivers down her spine from the sheer idea
Kaya's voice trembled as she thought a dangerous thought
"who do you think it is."
Adrian replied grimacing from just the idea "i'm not certain yet."
Kaya clicked her tongue in frustration
Adrian his eyes filled with conflict continued "whatever the case is i think i undid the magic seal, what i'm dealing with right now is the intense aftermath"
Kaya stopped talking for a long while to think all of the information Adrian gave to her through before replying sincerely "well, what matters is the future and how we go about it, if there's anything i can do to help you don't be afraid to ask" this comment made Adrian's eyes be steeled with resolve as he gave a quick reply "that is correct and there actually is something you can help me with"

'The suns finally setting' Adrian thought to himself 'its been 2 weeks since that meeting with Kaya, after that meeting i have committed to getting my stat's higher however with my pathetic stamina it has been hard to go longer than 20 minutes a session well whatever it should have gone higher up right?'

"you want me to circulate healthy magic into your body?" Kaya asked during their last meeting
"yes that would be appreciated and it should help getting rid of the poisonous magic"
Kaya thought about it for a while and a smirk started forming on her lips "hmmmmm~ but why should i do that? i dont think i gain anything from this do i?"
Adrian clicked his tongue in a playful manner then replied "help me with this and ill do whatever you want
Kaya giggled and replied "that sounds like a fair deal sure brother"

Adrian shivered at the idea of what his sister might ask of him but his attention got diverted towards the setting sunset
'i didn't tell Kaya this but my number one suspect is my father i don't have definite proof of anything except that faint memory i saw with Hastur but that's my most convincing lead'
adrian mulled over hundreds of thoughts, thoughts of the future, the past and the present and in the end a snowflake dropped to his shoulder and a low chuckle escaped from his voice as he declared "it's time for the academy"
