AABHI

Situated at an altitude of 11,500 feet above sea level, Serolsar Lake lies in the remote Anni area of Kullu district in Himachal Pradesh. The lake is about five kilometres away from Jalori Pass. Beside the lake is situated an old temple of Budhi Nagin Ma, the Mother Serpent Goddess. A bird, which the locals call 'Aabhi', keeps the lake clean by removing bits of straw etcetera as soon as they fall into the water. The tourists and foreigners who visit the place are amazed at this exploit. This story is about Aabhi.
