William stared at Tiara, dazed.
Every word she had said echoed in his mind, repeating over and over as if they refused to fade.
He stumbled a step back, his gaze shifting toward Thalia, who was still lying on the bed.
"Is it really me…?" he murmured.
"What happened?"
Arthur's voice cut through the heavy silence as he walked in, having just arrived after parking his car.
"Is she okay?" he asked again.
This time, William slowly turned to look at him.
He didn't answer and simply walked past Arthur and left the room.
Arthur frowned, clearly confused, before turning to Tiara. "What happened?"
Tiara didn't respond. Her eyes remained on Thalia.
"Nothing good," she said quietly.
The doctor, who had been standing there watching the exchange, shifted slightly, clearly unsure whether he should stay or leave.
"I'll excuse myself—"
"Wait, doctor."
Tiara's voice stopped him.
He paused and turned back.
