Mael, a young and blind man who lives in the outskirts of New Haven in Dystopian Texas, is chosen to enter a Breach during the Black Sun Event. He accepts because his younger sisters are sick and those who chose him provide good benefits to the Chosen Breachers and their immediate family. Alongside a few other individuals, Mael is sent through a Breach, ending up in an unknown region of the Distorted Godlands.
