"Ivan?" I was awake enough to hear everything around me, but the world was still blurry.
The room was dark, making the streams of light from the door seem brighter. Shadows moved, but I couldn't tell who they were.
The sound of the door shutting woke me more, even as we're plunged into darkness.
"Hey, go back to sleep," Ivan's hand finds me int he dark, caressing my cheek. "I didn't mean to wake you up."
"What time is it?" How long had I slept?
"It's six," he sat beside me, his hand moving to my shoulder and arm.
"Did they get here?"
"No," Ivan kept his voice low, as if he expected me to fall back asleep. "They're running behind."
"What?" I tried sitting up, but Ivan didn't move his hand. He was surprisingly heavy-handed. "Is everything okay?"
"They're fine," I didn't have to see him to know he was smiling. "They had an emergency stop. Well, three of them."
"But…" How was that supposed to put me at ease?
