"What does that have to do with Jessica?" Nefra looked stiff sitting on the edge of the bed, her arms crossed as if she were protecting herself from me. It hurt, but I had only myself to blame.
"Everything. This pack is like a second home. I've spent so much time here I could've changed my address several times…"
Why did this have to be so difficult?
It should be easy.
Jessica was my past, Nefra my future. Yet, talking about the she-wolf that destroyed me made me uncomfortable. Not because I felt anything for her, but because Nefra looked so unsettled by her. What did she see in my ex that I no longer saw?
