The office was deathly silent.
"Sheridan?" Sebastian Lockwood asked, standing at the door with a slight frown.
He had been relieved to see Edwin Sawyer was safe and sound, but he hadn't expected Donovan Sheridan to be there as well.
"Sebastian Lockwood—" Upon seeing him, Donovan Sheridan reacted as if he'd found his savior. "You're finally back! I went to check on the Sawyers for you, and what happens? I get arrested as a burglar!"
"In all my thirty-plus years, when have I ever been subjected to such an injustice?"
"I've been wronged more than anyone in history! It should be snowing right now to prove my innocence. From now on, call me Dolores Shaw."
Everyone was speechless.
Just then, a cool, detached female voice cut through the silence:
"That's because you were acting suspiciously. You were skulking around."
Sydney Sawyer's gaze followed the voice.
It was a girl around her age.
