AUTHOR'S POV
"Glad you're safe, Luna", Roman said, as he lock his stiff arms around Diana's waist from the back, catching her off guard.
"Get your filthy hands off of her! She's our Luna!", Damon said. The veins on his arms and neck became prominent, growling at Roman.
"How could you be this stupid? You're chilling here while there's a monster on the loose? Didn't your friends told you to take the Luna to safety??", Roman maddeningly shouted as he scoffed at Damon. Damon choked back taking the good hits. Though, he wasn't exactly chilling without a purpose. Roman turned Diana towards him, and checked her trembling body. "Are you alright Luna? You're so cold… he didn't even warmed you up.", Roman soothe Diana's shoulders, spurring warmth with his palms.
"I'm fine, sir. Please keep your hands to yourself, I would appreciate it", Diana narrowed her eyes, swatting Roman's hands away, giving him an indifferent look.
Roman was dumbstruck realizing Diana is not just cold outside, but also icy on the inside, making him gain more interests on his unusual Luna. He stared at her sapphire eyes. Not only they were drawing him in, but her eyes give a certain kind of glow that keeps him at bay. "Please call me Roman.. or honey, or sweetheart. Call me anything you want, my Luna", he said with a wink. Diana smiled awkwardly as she walk away from the flirty wolf.
"Come on Luna, let's get out of here", Damon said, as he give out his hand to Diana. Flashes of lightning threw gleams on their supposed path, as they come closer to the mouth of the cave. Then, they paused and waited as they hear a deafening howl that started to echo in the air, followed by petrifying growls that seemed to come near."Luna.. stay close", Damon said. Diana tightly squeezed Damon's hands, and turned her head to Roman who was just behind her. Somehow, she felt safe beside the two wolves whom she just met since she doesn't have much choice at the moment. She swallowed a lump, deeply hoping it was Scott's hand that she's holding at the scariest time of her life.
Roman couldn't help but get pissed off seeing Damon hold his Luna's hand. 'That should be me', he thought.
"You're not really going out aren't you?", Roman irritatingly asked.
"I'd rather take my chances running out here, than get trapped in the cave with a lycan and become a midnight snack. I can run fast in circles for hours, until the moon shifts and that beast change back to his harmless form", Damon uttered with stern confidence.
'The pup got a point', he thought. Dangerous, but might be effective. After all, he's a fast one.
Preparing to run, Damon and Diana slowly stepped further, followed by Roman. Diana stopped and stiffened as she heard a creature snarling so close. They turned around and looked up, only to see the lycan hanging by the slope of the cave glaring directly at them. Diana shouted at the top of her lungs at the sight of the beast. Damon pushed her away and shape shifted to counterattack the lycan who's about to lunge down. In a blink of an eye, Roman shape shifted and knocked his head on the lycan's torso before it could land on Damon.
"Take the Luna!", Roman mind talked Damon as he pounce on the lycan biting its neck.
Damon hurriedly ran up to Diana as she ride on his back. Running through the tall grasses, and then across the flowing river waters. Not a fat chance that Damon looked back as he dash at a breakneck speed. His breaths were sharper, that it could almost stab his chest. Not too long, a large shadow followed them at the same pace. Somewhere on the side, a silhouette speeding beyond the shadows chases them at full tilt. Diana turned her head left and right, having a hard time to catch a glimpse of the creature who's following their trail.
All of a sudden, the lycan caught up to Damon and was kicked on the side as they both took wing. Diana tightly closed her eyes as she drift away from Damon. In flight, a small branch of tree caught her leg and luckily, Roman in his human form was able to catch her as she land on his hard chest."Gotcha!", he sighed in relief embracing her, as they slide a few meters on the mushy ground.
"Nice catch, thanks", Diana grunted, wincing on her leg that has been bleeding profusely. "I think.. I hurt my leg".
Distraught, Roman impulsively tore a part of her dress and tied it on her leg. "Can you stand up?", he worriedly asked.
"Yes. I don't have choice, Do I?", as she breathlessly winced in pain. As she rely on him to stand on her feet, Diana was petrified to see the snarling beast approaching them at a distance. Roman swiftly carried her in his arms and leaped away from the ravaging lycan. Realizing that the lycan seems to follow Diana, Roman held his Luna close and tight.
"Do you know that lycan? Did it bit you or something? He seems to know your scent", he asked.
"No! I never knew that creature since today", Diana said as Roman ran on foot and leaped farther. Diana widened her eyes as she notice that the lycan is after them again. "It's coming, Roman!", she yelled in fear. "I'm scared", she uttered.
"Hold on tight, Luna!", Roman ordered Diana as she wrapped her arms around his neck, springing far from the lycan. He smiled as she clung to him tighter, as if he was in the best position he'd ever be. Being this close to his Luna, his worried heart started to calm. Her scent is even more fragrant at this proximity, fueling him with more guts and courage. He held his trembling Luna tightly, as he runaway.
The lycan suddenly overtook them upfront, growling with his blazing yellow eyes. Roman put her down and placed her aside. "Luna, I'll hold him off. Run as fast as you could, I'll be right with you. Okay?" , Roman said as he held her face with his both hands.
"Be careful", Diana said, as she hesitated to go in the woods alone.
With Roman's spirits uplifted at Diana's words, he darkened his eyes and stared at the beast who's chasing his Luna. Roman shape shifted and attacked the lycan head on. Just when Diana was about to go, a pair of wolves arrived. Lucas shifted on his human form and hurriedly approached Diana. "You need to get out of here! Go! Run Luna!!", he handed her stems of wolfsbane given by Sebastian as he push her out of the woods. Lucas then rolled over and shape shifted in no time as he block the way from the ravishing beast.
Cory, on the other hand, aided Roman as he skillfully distracted the lycan while Roman attack from the rear. With all of his strength and agility, Roman ran up the tree and leaped over the lycan scratching its face with his claws. The lycan screamed frighteningly, then slammed its body towards the trees. Then, he took a log and aimed at the wolves who kept on pouncing one at a time. Afterwards, he let out a terrifying growl as he strongfully hit the three wolves with a log all at the same time. Seeing his limping Luna flee on her own unprotected as the monstrous lycan follow her trail, Roman's heart pounded heavily in agitation before he completely blacked out.
