The wait for the carriages to roll in took seemingly forever since we knew they were coming beforehand, yet even though the passengers in those carriages were yearning to be here as quick as they possibly could, there was no way they could speed things up without breaking a bit of decorum.
Politics were as murky and unnecessary as ever, but with a plethora of merchants - both old and new - as well as a handful of minor Nobility that had come to try and strike some agreements with Jahi - but were really here for the Empress - we had to adhere to as many of the 'rules' as possible.
Even if those rules meant waiting almost an hour for a journey that should have concluded an hour or two ago; the standing and waiting around was irritating since everyone was expectant yet no one wanted to chat, like they were afraid the Empress would vaporize them the moment she arrived.
