Seeing Charles stare blankly at her, a slight smile touched Anna's lips. She reached out and grabbed his arm.
"Come on, come out with me. We can build a new home outside."
Everything around them collapsed again, and Charles felt as if something had touched his heart.
"A new home..." Charles muttered to himself.
"Hurry and come out. To celebrate you getting out, I've prepared a little gift for you."
Charles looked at his childhood sweetheart and said, "Anna, show me what you used to look like."
Anna was stunned, not understanding why he would make such a request.
"I just want to see." Charles's voice suddenly became unusually calm, as if his recent madness had belonged to someone else.
Anna's seductive body quickly melted, revealing the grotesque Tentacle Monster once more. It had writhing gray roots for legs, large, bright yellow eyes, and a massive, ferocious mouth lined with barbs.
Charles patted one of its tentacles. "Can I trust you, Anna?"
