Hearing Feierbahah's message, Charles swiftly headed for the door—he certainly hadn't forgotten Lily, who was watching the spectacle nearby.
"Lily, hurry and follow me. We need your rats to go ashore."
"Mr. Charles, can you check for me first? Did I lose any fur on my back?"
"Who told you to dye your fur every day? Come on!"
When Charles dragged Lily onto the deck, their target came into view. The massive island, illuminated by the searchlights, looked like a giant tortoise crouched in the darkness.
Behind the beach lay a barren rock formation with towering stones standing in a straight line, which did not look natural at all.
As the Narwhal circled the island, Charles noticed it was shaped like a gourd and was about the same size as Hope Island. He also saw that the Narwhal was not the first ship to arrive; a massive passenger vessel, one hundred and twenty meters long, lay sideways at the "waist" of Gourd Island.
