Chapter 158 - Chapter 158 Freeloader

"Now that her refusal is clear, how about I lend you a hand instead?" Kousuke suddenly said, his hand gently petting on top of Akeno's head while she snuggles in his chest. He ignored the crimson haired girl kneeling on the floor as if she had lost a huge sum of money by betting on the losing football team. "I won't make you sign over your soul or anything, just lend me a hand when I need it, that's all."

It's not like he's lacking any souls to begin with. He got plenty of them around, if not, he could just ask Valerie. From the countless research he had done on them, he could proudly declared to be quite knowledgeable about souls by now. Soul is the manifestation of data in the metaphysical realm, without data, they are pretty much just pure energy cluster. Obviously the data are made of the information what the soul had lived throughout their life. But as they roam the afterlife, the passing time slowly erodes the data until none are left, only then are they allowed to walk through the reincarnation gate and reborn anew.

"Making your vessel stronger without changing your race is easy for me, heck, I could even returns you back to a normal, appearance wise, and you wouldn't have to worry about people staring at your horns anymore," Kousuke said nonchalantly. He was planning to help her from the beginning, since it was his game that caused the dragon bloodline in her to awaken. Even if she had chosen to join Rias's peerage, he would have still offer her the same thing he did to Issei.

"Really?!"

"I could even turn your horns into something even better, you know those demon with goat-like horns? Those would looks cool than your current horns," he suggests while one hand rubbing his chin, his mind already imagining all sort of hybrid dragon appearance that would looks great on Ruri.

"Um, I would rather not having any if possible."

"That's a shame, it's not everyday you see a cute horns girl." Kousuke muttered with a sigh. Then he leans down to Akeno and whispers something to her ears, causing the latter to blush before nodding shyly. To the sharp hearing, they also developed faint blush across their cheeks, all except Ruri. Her body were still adapting to the changes after all, so she didn't have any supernatural senses just yet.

"But is what you said true? How can you do something like that anyway? Don't tell me... you're also a half dragon?!" Ruri said with a gasp. Her assumption were wrong, but she had her reasons for that. After all, Dragons in most fictions are said to be a mystical creature that can do almost anything. They are often depicted as transcendent beings that stood at the top of the pyramid, their destructive power were akin to natural disaster. She never once considered Kousuke to be an actual human, despite the person himself stated so. Her reasoning being that no normal human could possibly have a harem of beautiful girls in reality, only weirdo dream of it.

"Hm? I guess the secret is out," Kousuke muttered with a mysterious smile as he spread his arms wide and suddenly, bat-like wings revealed itself from his back. However, it was colored in pitched black as if every light exist solely to be devour by his wings. The right side of the wings remained upright proudly while the left wrapped itself around Akeno who looks unexpectedly stunned. But what's more shocking were the goat-like horns surging out of his forehead, making his new form looks more like hybrid devil than that of dragon.

"I am actually... the Dragon God of Arcane, and my domain is otherworldly." He stated flamboyantly, his bluish eyes even changed to golden color with narrow, slit-like pupils. It feels like his gaze could see through all, just like the legend of God's Divine Sight. The air around him shifted almost exactly as he revealed his wings, giving off the impression similar to primordial awakening. For a moment, everyone there suck in their breaths as his sheer presence overwhelmed them.

"Wow... you really gives similar vibe to Great Red."

A childish voice resounds behind the kneeling Rias, shocking them as they didn't notice anything until she speaks. Everyone except Kousuke turned their attention to the unfamiliar figure that suddenly appeared in the club room. It was a petite and short girl with long black hair and deadfish eyes. She worn a big size jacket that covered most of her body except her slender thighs. It was none other than the freeloader in his Sacred Gear, Ophis, the Infinity Dragon.

"W-What is someone like you doing here?" Rias asked nervously. Of course the Satan's sister would feels nervous around THE Dragon God. Her strength far surpassed average Gods, even Zeus could barely be her opponent unless she went all out. After all, her concept is Infinity itself. That means she could never be exhausted under normal circumstance. As a matter of fact, the longer the fight goes on, the higher the chance of her winning.

"I thought... Kousuke called for me," she answered in her usual monotone voice. Then Ophis slowly walks toward the couch before sitting right next to him, which he in turns, pulled out a fresh and hot slice of pizza from his inventory, handing it to her as she accepts without much of a complain. It was her favorite sausage pizza after all. "Mm, your pizza is definitely... more delicious than takeout pizza."

"You're feeding the Dragon God like... like she's a child." Issei muttered in awe, amazed at his friend's casual attitude that would put even the great Owen to shame. He had seen firsthand how Kousuke's Sacred Gear drawn Ophis to him, it was that very day that he and Ddraig could temporarily enjoyed a peaceful separation. He immediately went straight to his girlfriend, Rias, who was surprised at his bold action at first but melted under his passionate kiss. Meanwhile, Ddraig just walks around the town like a retired old man.

"Dragon God?" Ruri muttered the word she heard while tilting her head in confusion. 'That little girl is a God? Or is she the God of Dragon?' The half-dragon feels like Ophis looks rather harmless, she thought the latter probably wouldn't even step on an ant if she walks passed the anthill. As if feeling she was being watched, Ophis looks up and met her eyes. It was then that Ruri feels her body screaming at her. she had let the curiosity got to her head, and now the abyss stares back at her. But as if she was merely glancing her way, Ophis resumed eating her pizza like nothing happen.
