James read through his own asset's files for the numbers of who was involved of keeping his stuff was kept safe and running, calling them one by one introducing himself a bit and getting a more detailed file for this quarter, with a request of having everything sent to him.
"Sir the onboarding for new employees are beginning and we slowly sorting out the rotten eggs compared to the good ones. and gave a raise to the one's that had nothing to do with the corruption" Wendy reported professionally
"That's good news"
Frank stood up adding "with your permission we transferred money back into the company and paid off the bank loans, now it can start turning a profit"
"You two really are excellent with this stuff, would you two want to be my financial advisor and asset manager, it will be a big task so Jake and that auditor dude can join you both if they want" James asked them because of their continuous hard wark he was left speechless.
Wendy agreed on the spot, letting Jake and the auditor know as well. they all ended up agreeing as well.
"So far there is 3 companies, 1 restaurant, 1 shopping mall, a residential area that consists of 20 properties. and the assets that came with the companies. So, at the moment I need some assistances to get to 42 assets combined and to see the overall net-worth and profit"
"Oh, i thought it was going to be more troublesome" Frank said almost laughing
"Yeah boss, you have seen how easy these trivial matters are" Wendy chimed in
James gave an evil smirk "oh you want a challenge, then make my income as much as what's in my personal account"
"Hmm, how much is in your account?" Frank asked
James opened up his personal bank account and showed them, seeing the colour was draining out of their faces "that's too much of a hassle for us, we would pass out just thinking of how"
"haha, also will need to get a detailed amount of the assets received today on top of it"
Wendy raised an eyebrow "wait you received assets?"
James gave them the documents that was signed today "don't faint, from this shock" James teased
"We will have to get used to this at this point" Frank muttered
"Um, sir based on these two things you already passed the 42 assets, also why did the 2 great heads gave you 7% of their own assets?" Wendy asked
"Don't worry about that"
"Those two families have a lot of assets across the city so 7% is a decent amount"
James's phone began to ring seeing it was Charlotte; he picked up pretty quick "aren't you meant to be on vacation?" James said quickly
"Well, I am at the moment, but I wanted to check in"
"How is your vacation?"
"It has been pretty good; I heard that you reached the condition I set for you"
"Who snitched"
"Not telling, I had to see if you completed the condition so call it insurance. My brother is coming back from abroad so I will be back in a day"
"Oh, so soon. And here I was enjoying the peace"
Charlotte began to smile "just for that, I'm booking a flight tonight just to be there at midnight, and you are picking me up from the airport" after staying that she hung up the phone without letting him refute.
"I have bad news for you both"
Wendy and Frank looked worried "Chalotte will be back soon"
"And we pray for you, best of luck" Frank said sarcastically.
James took the rest of the day off to buy a few gifts for Charlotte. but he decided to buy a car first, since he had money to burn, he decided to go to a Rolls Royce dealership. a custom server walked up to him asking if she could help.
James pulled out his card asking if they could verify his funds to see which model he could get and drive away. by time she returned she had brought back the manager "Sir we had verified your funds, and we can give you the supreme deal"
"Let's do it, also I want to place an order for a custom made one"
"So do you want to buy 2? just for clarification"
James nodded he placed all the requirements and purchased the two cars driving one off of the lot the same day. since the funds was verified, they had given him a VIP supreme card. James went shopping until the sun went down and the stores closed for the night.
Trying to find decent gifts but could only pick out a couple of things. wasting time James drove around until 11:30 pm, Charlotte messaged saying that the plane was landing soon.
James parked outside in front exit gate one. he stood at the airport door hearing the plane landing 5 minutes went by as passengers got off of the plane. James noticed Charlotte walking over with a suitcase, a smile crept onto his face as he watched her getting closer.
"You are late"
she stopped and stared at him before walking slowly up to James "yet you turned up when I told you"
James grabbed her suitcase placing it into the trunk of the car "it is too late now I'll take you back to my place for tonight"
she smiled mocking him "is the mighty James inviting me over" noticing the car he was driving "when did you get this?"
"Today, walking is such a hassle these days" giving Charlotte a smile.
Entering the penthouse, Charlotte's jaw dropped in shock "this is where you been staying, how many more things are you hiding from me"
"I have a birthmark on my butt too since you're asking haha"
"You are such a jerk James"
"wasn't it you that purposely making me wait until midnight just to pick you up?" James stepped closer to her as he spoke.
Charlotte spoke coyly "that was different"
"Come on its already late I'll show you to your room, can chat more tomorrow"
