Most of the time, hoping for Iron Man to have discipline is not very likely. It's not that they deliberately don't follow commands, but genius scientists always have some new ideas. When there's only one of them, they might be a bit more orderly; once there are so many of them, each wants to prove they are the best, mishaps are inevitable.
But one cannot deny that the war preparations in the Central Universe are well in place. In fact, those pieces of equipment didn't necessarily have to be handled by Iron Man — although those things require professional technicians, since the war hasn't started yet, sending professionals among ordinary people to transport them is also feasible, just slower. This arrangement is evidently meaningful.
Nearly all the Iron Men felt a shock when they saw that terrifying arsenal, and simultaneously felt the pressure. They themselves couldn't produce so much equipment, not because their level was insufficient, but because of limitations in cosmic conditions: their military and government wouldn't allow them to wield such strength.
So they couldn't adopt a mentality of "if it breaks, so be it, at worst I'll make some more to compensate you" when dealing with these pieces of equipment. They had to be as careful as possible because if something was broken, there was truly no place to find replacements.
Most Iron Men were in this situation, so their mentality shifted from "I must surpass others" to "I certainly cannot be the one dragging behind," and they began treating the equipment more cautiously.
As this was the first time most Iron Men were engaging in purely space combat, most let Jarvis take over the mecha, only making decisions themselves, leaving the detailed operations to Jarvis, while also sparing some time to learn how to read cosmic coordinates.
The mission's target "Eastern Front" is actually relative. Centering on the outpost, it's divided into 8 regions, following the principle of left is west and right is east. The Eastern Front is to the right of the outpost, which is the direction the Green Lantern Fleet is coming from.
Space warfare can also have trenches, but they are not dug. Instead, various blocking devices and traps are used to make it impossible for ships to pass, mainly divided into physical traps and gravity-generating devices. The Iron Men will be deploying physical traps this time.
Main Universe Iron Man held the equipment he had transported before. Under JARVIS's guidance, he quickly reached the target location, but in space, most places were endlessly vast, with no celestial bodies, no light, and naturally no reference points. He confirmed several times before ensuring the position was correct.
Then he used the Pym Particle Generator to enlarge the already minimized equipment, further enlarging it according to the needed data until the thing's full appearance was no longer visible, like a high wall standing in the cosmos.
After the enlargement was completed, he pressed the start button on the remote control. As the machine gradually started, it spun and further expanded into a huge space platform, with the machines inside fully revealed. Immediately after, a blue arc shot out from the tower-like structure at the top, starting to extend in one direction. Main Universe Iron Man turned to look, and that blue arc seemed to connect to other bases.
But this was just a rear base, not the front line. Once the base was connected, the production line commenced operation, producing many smaller devices that automatically flew toward the front line.
Main Universe Iron Man surveyed from above the space base. Those small devices mainly split into two categories: permanent structures and freely moving robots. As more bases connected, the production speed grew faster, with numerous parts operating between the blue arcs, continuously assembling, and robots surging toward the front line like a tide.
Of course, this place wasn't far from the front line. Main Universe Iron Man checked, and it was about one light year away—which, for them, unable to travel faster than light, was like an impassable barrier—but most of the machines produced here were exceedingly fast, differing by only several multiples of light speed.
The Green Lantern Fleet arrived even faster. They seemed to have used a teleportation portal halfway, obviously intending to finish swiftly, but the central universe mobilized even quicker, resulting in the trenches being fully set up when the Green Lantern Fleet arrived.
In such a vast expanse of space, a densely populated zone suddenly appeared. Looking ahead, one saw innumerable nests and robots, laser weapons, magnetic storm bombs, artificial suns, and gravity traps laid across hundreds of layers, with trench thickness approaching half a light year.
Hal covered his forehead upon seeing this formation: whichever else it might be, this universe is truly wealthy. During his previous cosmic travels, he hadn't seen any civilization, when engaging in interstellar warfare, lay trenches half a light-year thick first.
Then he thought: Earth doesn't have so many resources. Has this side's Earth completed Solar System development? Perhaps even the neighboring star system has already been devastated.
Hal took a deep breath, clearing his thoughts. Firstly, their spaceship was not affected by gravity traps because they could switch from matter to energy at will. As long as Green Lantern was careful, even if they fell in, they could fly out.
Laser weapons weren't really difficult to deal with either. Although it was a makeshift spaceship, it did have some strength, plus a green lantern energy shield, getting hit a few times might just lose some energy, which was not a significant issue.
