Lex Luthor heard the sound and glanced at his screen, only to see the Kryptonite in his secret base, which had been emitting a green glow, shattered by a ki blast. Instantly, Kara, who had been weakened by the Kryptonite, regained her strength, her entire being revitalized.
With a buzzing sound, the ki blast didn't stop there. After shattering the Kryptonite, it split into two. One half formed a ki shield around the now-strengthened Kara and the still-unconscious Kent couple, while the other half transformed into a terrifying destructive force, exploding and completely obliterating Lex Luthor's secret base.
Whatever plans Lex Luthor had left in the base were now useless. Robert had destroyed all of Luthor's arrangements in the most direct way possible. This also completely ruined any further schemes Luthor had regarding Kara and the Kent couple.
"No! Impossible! Absolutely impossible!" In another base, Lex Luthor stared blankly at his screen, which had gone dark. He kept muttering to himself, unable to accept what had happened.
This was the first time since he started plotting that he had made a mistake, something Luthor found hard to accept. To make matters worse, he had lost surveillance of the secret base and had no way to continue executing his plans for Kara.
"How did he do it? Does he have power to rival the Space Stone? But the Space Stone is one of the six Infinity Stones. How could an incomplete human monkey surpass it?" After a long pause, Lex Luthor collected himself, still struggling to believe what had happened.
Robert's actions went beyond Luthor's understanding and the intelligence he had gathered. He furiously tapped his computer screen, replaying the moment Robert was enveloped by the Space Stone's light.
"The Saiyan was still transported away. So how did he control that energy even though he wasn't on Earth anymore?" Luthor soon confirmed Robert and Lana Lang had both been transported, which gave him some relief, but then he frowned deeply, muttering again.
"Could it be that the place they were sent isn't far from Earth? Or maybe they were transported to some strange space created by the Space Stone?"
With the previous connection of the Nine Realms, Lex Luthor had gained a clearer understanding of space, but he still had no idea where Robert had gone or how he had managed to manipulate the ki blast to save Kara and the others after leaving.
However, Luthor knew he couldn't waste any more time on Robert. He needed to find Kara and the Kent couple again and figure out how to bring them back into his plans.
Unfortunately for him, Kara wasn't foolish either. As soon as the explosion ended, she wasted no time. Grabbing the Space Stone, she took the Kent couple and immediately left the site.
Upon returning to the Kent farm, Kara swiftly gathered the Danvers family and Alex and brought them to a remote island base. There, she placed the Space Stone and informed Jor-El of what had happened.
"A Kryptonian monster? It seems someone found some of the data left behind when Kryptonians first came to Earth," Jor-El said seriously after hearing Kara's report.
"The Kryptonian monster experiment was banned long before Krypton was destroyed because it posed a great danger to Krypton itself."
"Now isn't the time to discuss its origins. We need to figure out how to deal with it!" Kara interrupted Jor-El anxiously. "Robert's been transported somewhere by the Space Stone, and Clark doesn't seem to be able to handle the monster on his own. Does it have any weaknesses?"
"I don't really know…" Jor-El thought for a moment before sighing. "My database only contains brief records, no detailed information. Jor-El himself never studied this forbidden subject. However, since this monster was created by Kryptonian experiments, Kryptonite might also be able to restrain it."
"Okay, I'll try it!" Kara nodded, deciding to give it a shot. But she also reminded Jor-El, "We don't know for sure if Kryptonite will work. Our best bet is still to bring Robert back and have him and Clark work together. No matter how powerful the Kryptonian monster is, it won't stand a chance against them."
"Don't worry. I'll study the Space Stone and try to locate Robert's coordinates so we can bring him back," Jor-El said excitedly as he eyed the Space Stone placed in the machine. "Honestly, if Jor-El had encountered the Space Stone in his lifetime, he would've been thrilled and fascinated."
Before Jor-El could finish his sentence, Kara had already vanished. The situation was too dire for her to listen to any more of his musings about Jor-El's past interests.
Before leaving the island, Kara considered whether to bring King Kong into the battle. The giant creature was undoubtedly powerful, and its massive size could give it an advantage against the Kryptonian monster.
However, despite its strength, King Kong's abilities were too limited. It was like an enlarged version of a cursed warrior—besides its strong body, it had no other skills. A fight between King Kong and the Kryptonian monster would cause massive destruction, making it difficult for others to join the battle.
In the end, Kara decided to go alone. Before leaving, she instructed King Kong to guard the island in case it was invaded, just as Clark had feared. At least King Kong could fend off most enemies.
Unless Lex Luthor could produce a second Kryptonian monster, it would be tough for any ordinary forces to defeat King Kong at this stage.
Meanwhile, in the vastness of space, on a planet not recorded in any conventional star maps, a blue light streaked across the sky. Robert appeared on this unfamiliar planet, plummeting towards the ground before coming to an abrupt stop.
"Huh? Where am I? I've been transported to another planet? There's no sun here, and the ki feels different from the Nine Realms… This is going to be tricky." Robert frowned as he floated in mid-air, surveying the strange environment.
When the blue light from the Space Stone engulfed him, Robert knew he had been set up. But he was confident that his remaining moves would at least help Kara escape her predicament. Without Kryptonite, Kara should be able to get the Kents out safely.
However, Robert still needed to figure out how to leave this unfamiliar planet. He couldn't rest easy until he returned and saw the Kent couple safe.
But escaping wouldn't be easy. While Robert could survive in space as long as he had enough ki, he had no idea where he was, let alone how to find his way back to Earth. He had already sensed that this planet had no connection to the Nine Realms, so even using Asgard as a shortcut wasn't an option.
"Wait… this ki? Lana? What is she doing here? Could it be…" Robert raised an eyebrow as he sensed a familiar energy and disappeared instantly.
"What? Who's there?!" On a cliff, Lana Lang turned in alarm, only to see Robert appear. Her surprise quickly turned to joy. "Robert?! You're here! Are you here to take me back? How are Martha and the others? Are they okay?"
"Sorry, I didn't come to bring you back. I was also transported here by the Space Stone…" Robert explained with a wry smile, guessing what had happened to Lana.
"Martha and Jonathan were kidnapped, and Kara temporarily lost her powers. But before I was transported, I destroyed the Kryptonite, so Kara should be able to get them out."
"Robert Kent, son of Jonathan Kent, welcome." Before Robert could finish speaking, a cloaked figure suddenly floated out and called his name.
With a swoosh, a ki blast instantly pierced through the cloaked figure's body, pinning him to the cliff behind.
"Who are you?!" Robert frowned, glaring at the figure. "How do you know my name? Is this your doing?"
"Knowing the name of every visitor is my curse. I would like you to kill me, but clearly, you can't…" The cloaked figure looked down at the ki blast that had impaled him, his voice filled with regret.
"I've been here for decades, on this lifeless planet. Occasionally, others arrive, but they all die, unable to confront their true selves. Do you want to know why?"
"A manifested soul?" Robert raised an eyebrow, noticing something unusual about the figure. "No wonder I didn't sense your ki earlier. You're already dead, but your soul still contains a spark of life, making you seem alive…"
"You understand my condition?!" The cloaked figure's voice became excited. "Can you kill me? If you can, I'll tell you everything I know!"
"You know a lot? Then do you know how to get back to Earth?" Robert asked, staring deeply at the figure.
"Earth? Ha, if I could return, I would've done so long ago. I didn't expect you to be from Earth too…" The figure laughed bitterly. He struggled to free himself from the ki blast but failed, so he adjusted his posture and continued.
"There have been ships that arrived on Vormir, but I don't know where they are. If Earth's civilization is still as I remember, those ships probably don't have Earth's coordinates."
"And the key issue is, after all these years, I'm not sure if those ships are still intact. Energy depletion is also a major problem…"
"Then what did you mean by 'knowing everything'? What can you offer me?" Robert glanced around the lifeless planet before asking again.
"The Infinity Stones! Like me, you were banished here by the Space Stone. But you were lucky—you didn't become a slave to the Soul Stone…" The cloaked figure pointed towards the mountain peak. "If you ascend the altar at
the summit, you can obtain the Soul Stone. With its power, returning to Earth would be easy."
"The Soul Stone? That's quite the coincidence… or are the Infinity Stones interconnected?" Robert's eyes narrowed as he stared at the figure. "What's the price? You said there were ships, but others have clearly tried to take the Soul Stone and failed, right?"
"That's right. They all failed. Only by sacrificing your most beloved—exchanging a soul for a soul—can you obtain the Soul Stone. But none of them truly understood what they loved most…" The figure explained quietly. "So, they all died."
"Robert, that Soul Stone sounds really dangerous. Should we try to find a ship first?" Lana asked, her brows furrowed in concern after hearing the figure's words.
"Good idea. Let's see if there's another way first." Robert wasn't eager to test the ritual of sacrifice, so he agreed with Lana's suggestion. They split up to search for the abandoned ships on the planet.
While Robert and Lana began searching for a way off the planet, back on Earth in Gotham's outskirts, the battleground had already been reduced to rubble. Countless people had perished in the terrifying battle. Tony Stark and the others were doing their best with new detection devices to save every person with a pulse.
Boom! On the other side, the battle was still raging. The situation wasn't looking good. Clark was bloodied, his Superman suit torn. He was once again sent flying by the Kryptonian monster, crashing hard into the ground…
