Chapter 261 - Chapter 251: The Ice Elite’s Challenge (Part 3)

Blastoise's Pressure & Jigglypuff's Last Stand

The stadium was still buzzing with excitement after Pikachu's dramatic victory. The crowd chanted Pikachu's name as the little electric mouse struck his superhero pose one last time before running back to Ash with a proud "Pika-pi!"

Ash knelt down and scratched behind Pikachu's ears. "You were amazing, buddy. Take a good rest."

Lorelei recalled her Lapras with a calm but focused expression. The first loss had clearly put her on alert.

"Impressive," she said, her voice carrying across the field. "But the real battle starts now."

She gracefully tossed her second Poké Ball.

"Dewgong! Show them the true power of ice!"

A majestic Dewgong materialized on the field, its sleek white body shimmering as it let out a confident cry. Frost immediately began forming around its horn.

Ash smiled confidently and threw his own Poké Ball.

"Blastoise! Let's go!"

The massive Blastoise appeared with a powerful roar, its twin hydro cannons gleaming. The Dark Glass Classic accessory on its shell gave it a sleek, stylish look while boosting its power significantly.

The crowd cheered loudly at the sight of the fully evolved Water-type powerhouse.

"Blastoise versus Dewgong!" the referee announced. "Begin!"

Lorelei made the first move. "Dewgong, use Aurora Beam!"

Dewgong fired a beautiful multicolored beam of ice energy straight at Blastoise.

Ash responded instantly. "Blastoise, Rain Dance!"

Blastoise stomped the ground and summoned dark clouds above the battlefield. Heavy rain began pouring down, covering the entire field in a downpour.

The Rain Dance activated Blastoise's hidden ability Rain Dash increasing his speed and mobility dramatically in the wet conditions.

The Aurora Beam struck, but Blastoise dodged with surprising agility thanks to the rain, then countered immediately.

"Blastoise, Hydro Pump!"

Two powerful jets of water erupted from Blastoise's cannons, blasting toward Dewgong with tremendous force. The rain amplified the power of the Water-type move even further.

Lorelei narrowed her eyes. "Dewgong, Dive!"

Dewgong plunged into the pool section of the field, avoiding the direct hit. But Blastoise didn't let up.

"Keep the pressure! Use Aqua Tail on the water surface!"

Blastoise spun around and slammed his glowing tail into the pool, sending a massive wave crashing toward Dewgong's hiding spot. The wave forced Dewgong to surface.

The moment it appeared, Blastoise unleashed another Hydro Pump at point-blank range.

Dewgong took the hit hard, sliding backward across the wet field with a pained cry.

Lorelei wasn't backing down. "Dewgong, use Sheer Cold!"

A dangerous freezing aura gathered around Dewgong as it prepared the ultimate Ice move.

Ash's eyes sharpened. "Not this time! Blastoise, Rapid Spin into Skull Bash!"

Blastoise retracted into his shell and spun rapidly, charging forward like a cannonball. The spinning shell smashed into Dewgong before it could finish charging Sheer Cold, interrupting the move completely.

The impact sent Dewgong flying. Before it could recover, Blastoise emerged from his shell and followed up with a powerful Aqua Tail, slamming his glowing tail directly into Dewgong's side.

The combination was devastating.

Dewgong struggled to stand, breathing heavily, but Blastoise didn't give it any breathing room.

"Finish it with Hydro Cannon!"

Blastoise's cannons glowed with intense blue energy. A massive, concentrated blast of water shot forward like a laser, striking Dewgong square in the chest.

The impact was explosive.

"Dewgong is unable to battle!" the referee declared.

The crowd erupted in cheers. Ash had taken a commanding 2-0 lead.

Lorelei recalled her Dewgong with a serious expression. The pressure was clearly mounting on her side now.

"You're stronger than I expected, Champion," she admitted, though her voice remained composed. "But I still have plenty of fight left."

Ash smiled respectfully. "I'm counting on it."

Lorelei sent out her next Pokémon.

"Wigglytuff! Your turn!"

A large, round, and deceptively powerful Wigglytuff appeared, puffing up its body with confidence.

Ash decided to switch things up. He recalled Blastoise and sent out a surprising choice.

"Jigglypuff! Let's do this!"

His cute pink Jigglypuff bounced onto the field, looking adorable but determined. Her eyes sparkled with fighting spirit.

The crowd let out a mix of "awws" and surprised murmurs at the matchup Jigglypuff versus Wigglytuff.

The battle began intensely.

Lorelei started strong. "Wigglytuff, use Hyper Voice!"

Wigglytuff inhaled deeply and unleashed a powerful sonic scream that shook the entire battlefield.

Ash countered quickly. "Jigglypuff, Sing!"

Jigglypuff opened her mouth and released her signature soothing lullaby. The two sound-based moves clashed in the center of the field, creating beautiful yet chaotic sound waves that made the air vibrate.

Both Pokémon were pushed back by the collision.

"Jigglypuff, use Dazzling Gleam!"

Jigglypuff's body glowed with fairy energy as she released a bright burst of sparkling light.

"Wigglytuff, Disable!" Lorelei commanded.

Wigglytuff's eyes glowed, successfully disabling Jigglypuff's Dazzling Gleam for the moment.

The two Normal/Fairy-types went toe-to-toe in a fierce exchange. Jigglypuff used Charm to lower Wigglytuff's attack power, followed by Double Slap and Disarming Voice. Wigglytuff retaliated with Body Slam, Play Rough, and powerful Hyper Voices.

The battle was extremely close. Both Pokémon were evenly matched in power and determination. Jigglypuff's Song Goddess hidden ability allowed her to enhance her sound moves beautifully, while her Friend Guard helped reduce damage to herself when supporting allies (though it also gave her slightly better endurance here).

For several long minutes, the two pink Pokémon traded blows in an entertaining back-and-forth.

Jigglypuff landed several clean hits with Disarming Voice and Double Slap, dealing heavy damage to Wigglytuff. But Wigglytuff's superior size and bulk eventually began to show.

After a final, powerful Play Rough from Wigglytuff, Jigglypuff was knocked out, collapsing with swirls in her eyes.

"Jigglypuff is unable to battle!"

The score was now 2-1 in Ash's favor, but Wigglytuff was visibly tired and heavily damaged from Jigglypuff's relentless attacks.

Ash recalled Jigglypuff with a proud smile. "You did great. You really put the pressure on her."

Lorelei looked at her battered Wigglytuff with a serious expression. The battle was far from over, but Ash had successfully put her on the defensive.

The crowd was roaring, completely invested in this high-level Elite Four challenge.

Ash stood ready on his side, already thinking about his next Pokémon as the rain from Blastoise's earlier Rain Dance continued to fall gently over the field.
