The story takes place roughly a few days after volume 1 of RWBY. Nivelia, is a part of a family that is like the Schnee family, the BlackStar family. Instead of being involved in dust production and distribution, the BlackStar family is like a PMC (private military company). They work closely with the Schnee's, so Nivelia is familiar with Weiss and Winter. Weiss also knows what Nigel is, and that's where Nigel got her nickname, from Weiss. Weiss visits the BlackStar residence in Patch every year for the holidays, due to her father saying that it's good for business and keeping close relations with their personal bodyguards. Weiss just goes along with it because she enjoys spending time with the BlackStar family.
The story is going to be an alternate universe type story, so expect things to be different. Salem and the Grimm are still a threat, and Ozpin is still trying to stop her. Roman and Neopolitian are more like vigilantes and not theives. Ruby and Yang still attend Beacon, along with Blake and Weiss. The events of volumes 1-2 still happen like the show, but with the addition of Nivelia and Nigel watching over them. Nivelia and Nigel are a team by themselves, a special admission case type of thing. Nigel is pretty much on good terms with Glynda, due to Glynda having a slight obsession with Nigel for some reason(I won't say).
