Chapter 760 - Chapter 760: Conflict and the Thunder Serpent Clan

Chapter 760: Conflict and the Thunder Serpent Clan

After obtaining his first piece of Blood Spirit Mud, a faint smile of satisfaction appeared on Mo Yu's face. There was no time to refine it, however, as more meteors continued to streak past them from every direction.

Each rock moved at tremendous speed, forcing the group to pour all their focus into sensing for the faint traces of blood energy that indicated hidden Blood Spirit Mud.

Whoosh! Whoosh!

The meteors streaked across the void, exploding one after another under Cai Lin and the others' strikes. Most were empty, containing nothing of value—but persistence paid off.

After shattering an entire wave of meteors, Mo Yu's group successfully collected eight pieces of variously sized Blood Spirit Mud.

"Not bad," Cai Lin said, her voice calm but satisfied. This result was impressive—typically, even searching through a dozen meteors might yield nothing.

Mang Lie nodded. Dividing the spoils evenly, he distributed two pieces to each of them.

Mo Yu took his share, and with a light motion of his fingers, ground the crimson clumps into five small Blood Mud Pills, swallowing them all at once.

Instantly, a torrent of searing heat surged through his body. His flesh and blood seemed to roar with hunger, absorbing the power greedily. A blood-red glow radiated faintly across his skin as the energy merged with his every bone and muscle.

The Blood Spirit Mud was indeed a perfect tonic for strengthening the body. For a long moment, Mo Yu's face flushed crimson, and then the heat slowly faded, replaced by an intoxicating sense of strength and clarity.

He flexed his fists, feeling immense power surging through his frame once again. Even after experiencing it before, he couldn't help but marvel at the effectiveness of this treasure.

But his reverie was cut short when his sharp senses flared. He turned suddenly, eyes narrowing toward a distant glimmer in the void.

Far ahead, faint light seeped through the darkness, illuminating the endless black space like a crack in reality.

"We're approaching the border of the Divine Beast Origin," Cai Lin said softly, her gaze sharpening.

Mo Yu nodded, eyes flickering with anticipation. This was the legendary resting place of countless divine beasts—an ancient battlefield of fallen titans.

"At the perimeter lies a massive meteor belt," Mang Lie said, staring ahead. "Within it are countless meteors, the best source of Blood Spirit Mud."

"A meteor belt…" Mo Yu murmured, a gleam of excitement lighting his eyes.

Whoosh!

Their massive meteor mount sped forward, slicing through the void. After half an hour of flight, the oppressive darkness began to fade.

Ahead, brilliant golden light flared, and within its boundary appeared a colossal meteor belt that stretched beyond sight. Every meteor spun and revolved, orbiting what must be the true Divine Beast Origin like a titanic ring.

Each meteor was larger and more powerful than any they had encountered before.

Boom!

Their current rock shot forward, plunging into the chaotic meteor field. Immediately, Mo Yu's senses exploded with energy. From at least five nearby meteors, he detected the telltale pulse of blood essence.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Without hesitation, he struck out. Towering waves of black power, infused with the might of the Force Ape, erupted from his fists, shattering meteors into fragments.

Crimson streaks—Blood Spirit Mud—burst forth amidst the debris.

With a sweep of his hand, Mo Yu pulled them toward him, collecting the glowing clumps with an eager grin. He could feel it—the small-completion stage of the Force Ape Divine Body was nearly within his grasp.

Bang! Bang!

Cai Lin, Mang Lie, and Mang Yu were also striking nearby meteors, harvesting several glowing treasures of their own. Even Cai Lin, usually composed and reserved, couldn't suppress a faint smile at the sight.

Boom!

Another strike from Mo Yu shattered a meteor, exposing yet another vein of Blood Spirit Mud. He collected it swiftly and was preparing to continue when his instincts suddenly prickled.

He turned sharply, eyes flicking toward a disturbance in the meteor field to the right.

At the same moment, Cai Lin and the siblings sensed it too. Their gazes followed his—and instantly, their expressions changed.

Then came delight.

Before them, emerging from the vast field like a drifting mountain, was a meteor so large it dwarfed all others—over ten thousand meters wide, pulsing with pulsating red light.

The entire surface was soaked in crimson energy, glowing as if alive. Even from afar, the heat of blood essence rolled across the void, stirring their own blood to near-boiling.

"That… that thing's enormous!" Mo Yu muttered, eyes wide.

It radiated overwhelming vitality—the Blood Spirit Mud within that meteor had condensed to a purity far beyond anything they'd seen.

"If we can claim that piece, it'll surpass everything we've gathered combined," Cai Lin said, her voice low but firm.

"That meteor's energy... so dense! The Blood Spirit Mud inside might've refined into Blood Spirit Essence!" Mang Yu exclaimed, her eyes shining with awe.

"Prepare to strike. We must claim it," Cai Lin commanded sharply, her regal tone brooking no argument.

Mo Yu nodded heavily. Something that powerful was unimaginable—letting it slip away was not an option.

But just as they were about to strike, the void trembled. A sinister pulse of lightning-drenched energy spread through the meteor belt.

"Heh… who would've thought we'd run into the Celestial Swallowing Python Clan here?"

A mocking voice echoed through the air, followed by four figures stepping out from atop a nearby meteor. They were shrouded in storm-like lightning, their bodies surrounded by arcs of electricity that crackled menacingly.

Their glowing eyes locked on Mo Yu's group with expressions twisted into predatory smirks.

Mang Lie and Mang Yu froze, their faces instantly darkening.

"The Thunder Serpent Clan," Mang Lie said coldly.

Mo Yu's brow furrowed at the name. The Thunder Serpent Clan—another divine beast race—was every bit as feared as the Celestial Swallowing Pythons.

"They're our rivals," Mang Yu hissed in disgust, her cheerful face hardening. "There's always bad blood between us."

The avatar nodded, his aura subtly rising. Since the serpents had appeared here, conflict was inevitable.

The four Thunder Serpent elites stood tall, their leader stepping forward. His body was muscular and imposing, and his gaze was chillingly sharp—predatory, like a venomous serpent poised to strike.

His cold stare swept past Mo Yu and Mang Yu without interest, stopping only upon Cai Lin and Mang Lie. Clearly, he'd already assessed the group's strengths—only those two had the power of Seventh-Grade Sovereigns.

"So, the famed Nine-Colored Celestial Swallowing Python," the man said with a cruel grin. "To think she's descended here from the lower plane. A pity you're not fully evolved yet—otherwise, even my clan might hesitate to act."

He chuckled. "But as you are… this lineup is pitiful. Are you so eager to die in the Divine Beast Origin?"

Cai Lin's eyes turned icy, her tone smooth but lethal. "To think the first thing I'd see here is a nest of filthy snakes. Truly bad luck."

The leader's expression twisted, his aura spiking. "Bold words for a soon-to-be corpse," he sneered. "You have ten breaths to disappear. Stay, and your clan's precious heirs will die before even stepping foot inside the Divine Beast Origin."

Boom!

The air quaked as waves of dark lightning burst from his body, flooding the surrounding space in crackling energy.

Behind him, the other three Thunder Serpents released their auras—two of them clearly powerful Seventh-Grade Sovereigns, the others close behind, storms of power swirling around them.

Mo Yu's eyes narrowed. Their strength was formidable—equal or beyond that of Zhao Xuan and Jia Qing.

But strength alone was never the full measure of the battle.

Cai Lin met the lightning lord's gaze unfazed, the faintest smirk curving her lips. "You talk too much. If you value your fangs, crawl away before I tear them out."

"Insolent fool!" the man snarled, his patience shattering. "Serpent Wind—attack!"

He raised a hand, lightning coiling around his arm like chained dragons. "Serpent Light, Serpent Cloud—go seize the meteor. If they resist, kill them all before that meteor drifts away!"

"Understood!" his subordinates replied, lightning flaring as their eyes gleamed with bloodlust.

Both factions were using drifting meteors as temporary platforms, hurtling toward the Divine Beast Origin. The massive crimson meteor hung in a different trajectory, slowly separating from their path—speed was vital if they wished to claim it.

The leader and his lieutenant surged forward as twin bolts of black lightning, the void trembling as they charged.

"Mo Yu, Mang Yu—those two are yours," Cai Lin said calmly.

She and Mang Lie launched upward, intercepting the twin lightning bolts in midair, explosions rocking the void.

Mo Yu nodded sharply, glancing at Mang Yu beside him. Both shared a confident smile as they faced off against the two remaining Thunder Serpent warriors, arcs of energy flickering between them.

The battle for the Blood Spirit Essence had begun.
