Third Person POV
Skellige.
...
...
Madara's clone was still advancing through Undvik, since the clone's chakra had not yet dissipated, saving as much as he could and finishing the last missions, as there were no more than two villages left that he had not visited on the island.
And now he was running through the valley, passing along the path in one of the forests after learning that there was a small village near the southern coast, a little isolated from the rest of the island.
He passed by some wagons of Skellige men carrying and bringing things along the way, while no one noticed him moving through the trees, being nothing more than a strong wind passing them by.
It did not take long for him to finally arrive at the village, stopping on one of the rooftops without anyone noticing his presence.
He doubted that anyone had ever heard of what he had been doing on the island in the past few days, as it seemed quite isolated, with a few farms scattered around the village, but not many.
Certainly the local trade was not very large, not enough for them to have already heard about his presence in Skellige or even about the wedding he had with the princess of Cintra at the main castle, organized by King Bran.
This clone did not even know how his original was doing on the main island or if he had already married Ciri, while he continued carrying out his missions here in Undvik.
Either way, he landed in the middle of the village without anyone noticing him, dropping down from above. Only a few people looked at him in surprise when he began to walk through the place, since his appearance was quite striking, different from the people of Skellige.
He ignored the strange looks from some people as soon as they saw him and went toward the notice board, looking at each of the papers placed there. He began to pull only the two that were available, seeing that one was a mission to exterminate a monster's nest and the other, to search for a missing young woman.
"Hey, boy! Who are you? What are you doing here?" A man approached Madara at that moment, with a tone full of anger, glaring at Madara.
"I'm here to take on the village's requests. Do you only have these two?" He asked, showing the papers to the man, who did not seem to believe any of it. He thought it was just some brat playing a prank. He was sure that the young man there did not belong to the village, after all, he was not the son of anyone he knew. And upon hearing him, he became even more irritated when the young man actually said he would take those requests. Not believing Madara.
"Hey, you must be joking with me, right, boy? What do you think you're doing here? Put the papers back on the board quickly! It cost us money to have a scribe make them for us." Said the man angrily, after all no one there knew how to read or write.
All they had to do was hire a scribe to draft the posters, with the intention of alerting some traveler willing to take on the request — hopefully, perhaps a witcher — who might see the poster. That was the purpose of putting them up on the village notice board.
Madara just sighed. He was used to dealing with people like this all the time. They even became unsettled sometimes when he showed his red eyes, claiming to be a kind of witcher so as not to raise further questions. Some people became excited, others skeptical upon seeing a young man like him claiming to be a witcher, while most treated him with disgust, insulting him without knowing who he really was, usually calling him a freak.
Madara stared at the papers, ignoring the man, and by doing so, the man became even angrier, reaching directly toward Madara, trying to grab his shoulder and pull the papers away. But he was easily caught by Madara's hands.
"Don't be a fool." Madara said to the man as he twisted his arm, making him cry out in surprise at the pain and at how easily the stranger had done it.
He was about fifty years old and, even though he was a strong man, he couldn't help but feel that his wrist could be easily broken with a single touch from that young man.
This drew even more attention from the people watching around, seeing their acquaintance kneel before Madara's grip.
"Hey! What are you doing to him? Let him go!" Said a man immediately, with a shovel in hand ready to strike Madara.
Madara stared at the man and considered. Surely there would be no advantage in beating up an entire village of ordinary people, even if some of them deserved it and most were fools. So he let the old man go, who fell to the ground groaning in pain, almost feeling his entire forearm break.
"Anyway, I'm going to take care of your request. I'll be back soon." He said, before disappearing from the spot in an instant, under everyone's gaze, leaving the people surprised and full of questions.
He stopped outside the village while looking at the two papers. One was about a monster nest on a farm that was being ravaged by nekkers, a very easy job, and the other said that a young woman had disappeared on the coast more than two weeks ago.
Madara decided to go to the coast first, heading to the last place where the young woman had been seen.
He arrived at a deserted beach on the east of the island, but there had been no sign of other people there in recent days. He quickly began to investigate the area, trying to find any trace. There were some marks he could see with his Sharingan activated, and he could not maintain it with his chakra already at its limit. The real problem was that he could not track scents as a witcher could, or even see the past as Ciri's powers allowed. They had an advantage in that regard.
He then decided to resort to other forms of help, within the limits of his powers. He began forming seals with his hands and struck directly at the sand of the beach. He used the summoning jutsu on smaller animals so that his chakra was hardly spent, worse than using the Sharingan. As the smoke, no larger than Madara himself, began to dissipate, his summons appeared.
A pair of white wolves appeared, looking at Madara and wagging their tails. They were one of his summons he had acquired some time ago. They lived in Kaer Morhen, and since Madara did not have a sense of smell as strong as that of a witcher and there was no jutsu for such things, he had decided to outsource that sense of smell, maintaining a contract with the two wolves.
Quickly, they began tracking the scent left at the site. Madara could capture the feelings, the memories, and even the vision of the wolf with his Sharingan from time to time. And he could see the scent trail of the one he sought, along with another. On the poster, it said that the young woman had thrown herself into the sea and they wanted the body. And that did not seem to be the case here.
Thus, he continued his search to the north, following the wolves. It was already dark by then, and something caught his attention when he looked between the trees, which made him climb one of them. There was no moon in the sky, so it was darker, and the light he noticed stood out even more on one part of the coast.
A white mist was in the distance, lit by a strange white light.
"Stop." Madara said to the wolves as soon as he descended from the tree. He looked toward the direction of the coast and added: "Stay here and wait for me." That was the only thing he said before moving forward.
As soon as he approached the mist, he could see figures walking around the area, looking like nothing more than shadows within the fog. His eyes narrowed, immediately surprised to find them there. The first thing that came to his mind was to ask what the Wild Hunt was doing in that place.
"How is it possible they are here? Are they after Ciri?" He had no information from his original body about the presence of the Wild Hunt on that island, as mentioned by King Bran. There was no way they could already have that information, and that was why he was so surprised.
The figures walked back and forth as if they were looking for something. Soon, creatures that looked like ice hounds — more precisely ghouls covered in frozen spikes — sensed the strange scent and began growling in the direction where Madara stood.
The members of the Hunt also turned their gaze and saw a boy standing before them outside the mist. They advanced through the fog, appearing in their cold, skeletal armor before the strange human. Madara stared at them without taking a single step back, even with their appearances that would frighten anyone else.
"You are of the Wild Hunt." He said in an extremely calm and accusatory tone.
A huge man, more than two meters tall, stepped past the soldiers and stared at Madara, pointing at him.
"Ess'naen dh'aelmharaen vaen morveth, aen esse..." [A filthy, inferior human, I see...] He spoke a few words in the elven tongue of Aen Elle, slightly different from the elvish language known in that world, but the message behind it was clear.
He spoke of Madara being an inferior being just with the tone of his voice, pointing at him. The elves of Aen Elle had great contempt for all other races, considering them all weaker, and themselves superior.
Despite hearing that out loud, Madara did not move a centimeter. His posture was firm, unmoving in front of the group, studying them.
"Naen ennas aelir, vaen cre'thar essyn..." [He has no idea that he is going to die now...] The warrior then took his axe and said a few more words before raising the weapon against Madara, wanting to cut that inferior human in half and display his blood before the others. However, when the blade neared Madara's head, an unexpected scene occurred.
The massive elf didn't even have time to finish the attack. He felt his face smashed backward with a kick from Madara. The huge body flew back into the mist and disappeared.
It took a few seconds for the others to process what had just happened, while Madara landed on the ground, still, waiting for them to attack.
In the next instant, they all rushed forward. Madara moved quickly, intercepting one of the soldiers not much taller than him. He grabbed the blade with his hand, and before the enemy could react, he wielded the weapon with chakra, moving it precisely. A clean cut went across the soldier's neck, the blade passing easily through the armor as it glowed with purple lightning.
Right after, Madara spun his body before striking one of the ice hounds, making the creature scream in pain as its head was pierced effortlessly. The other elves quickly tried to act, wielding swords, hammers, and axes, but since that was supposed to be only a reconnaissance mission for them, it turned into a massacre.
They were terrified to see their front lines vanish before the abnormal movements of that human, who spun from side to side, cutting them down as if it were nothing.
"Kae'thar essyn! Veleth! Kae'thar essyn!" [Kill him! Quick! Kill him!] Another man, nearly two meters tall and holding a staff, began shouting, not wanting his soldiers to hesitate against that stranger.
As they advanced, the mage began preparing magic and quickly fired huge balls of frozen energy directly where Madara was, not caring about his own companions who were also caught in the crossfire.
The place soon turned into chaos, with Madara swiftly dodging the blows while continuing to face the soldiers. His eyes were already red, the Sharingan activated. However, he did not have much chakra left to continue the fight, and within just a few minutes of battle, even after felling more than twenty enemies, he began to lose the vision of the Sharingan. Even so, the impact of his strength left them terrified.
The very giant who had been kicked away returned from the mist, horrified as he looked at all those bodies lying on the ground. A flash appeared from the mage by the shore. Madara was caught by surprise, and a rain of magic descended upon him, striking him before he could move, as he no longer had the Sharingan to dodge the spell. His body exploded into smoke along with all the corpses on the ground.
"Eithne. Ess'naen dh'aelmharaen carth." [It's over. That human has been killed.] Said one of the companions in the elven tongue of Aen Elle.
"Ie... Ess'naen dh'aelmharaen vaen veyth! Caranth ennas vaelth? Ael'thain ess'naen carth?" [Yes... Cursed be that human. What the hell was that? Where is his body?] Muttered the mage, studying the scorched ground, unable to find any trace of the stranger.
Meanwhile, the original Madara was still enjoying his honeymoon. They were not making love at that moment, but he was with Ciri somewhere in the room by the window, kissing her neck as she moaned softly. It was then that the disappearance of the clone occurred.
Immediately, Madara received all the memories of what he had done in the past few days: the missions, the places he had traveled in Undvik of Skellige. But the last memories of the clone made him suddenly awaken, interrupting the kisses, looking at Ciri with seriousness. She stared at him, worried, noticing the abrupt change.
"Something wrong?" She asked.
Madara took a deep breath before replying:
"Yes. The Wild Hunt is here."
