Chapter 277 - Chapter 277 - Will You Forgive Me?

[Chapter Size: 2400 Words.]

Third Person POV

Skellige.

...

...

The days went by in Skellige. Despite many nobles from other kingdoms remaining and trying to approach the newlyweds, they didn't have much success. For Madara and Ciri, their intentions were obvious — always seeking second motives, spying, or wanting some kind of advantage.

But neither Madara nor Ciri were willing to entertain that. Even people who tried to make contact through their companions — some old acquaintances Geralt had met throughout his life who appeared at the castle, whether for work or brief conversations — found no success. Geralt understood everyone's intentions and left no openings when the most precious thing to him was Ciri.

Even some women slept with Dandelion in hopes of getting closer to them, but he was reprimanded by Yennefer when she realized something was wrong.

Fourteen days had passed since Madara and Ciri had married. Their routine was basically relaxing and enjoying each other's company, since there were no more major problems after the first few days.

They spent their time exploring the islands on outings, staying at King Bran's castle, conducting research with Mousesack about dragons, and spending nights sleeping either in the cabin in the forest or at the top of the mountain that Madara had informed King Bran he was using and wished to officially make their own.

The Wild Hunt was no longer a problem, but they still heard reports that it continued to appear in some places on the island. King Bran was a bit worried and turned to the two of them for more information. Madara and Ciri reported what they had seen, and the king certainly didn't like hearing that beings from other worlds were entering the islands at various points to cause chaos.

An order had been issued in recent days, quickly seeking to gather warriors to sail across the seas in search of any reports of the Wild Hunt, while Madara continued exchanging information with Mousesack and Bran.

Madara was with Mousesack at that moment, in his laboratory, having a somewhat more serious conversation after Madara cast a genjutsu to share some of the things he had seen about that elf.

"By the gods..." murmured Mousesack, looking at Madara after hearing about the world of the Aen Elle elves. They were after the last descendant of Lara Dorren — none other than Ciri, the only one who had awakened powers greater than any other predecessor except Lara.

"The more people who know about them, the better," said Madara calmly. He began sharing information about the Aen Elle with everyone who might have to deal with them. Geralt and Yennefer had already been informed, and now Madara shared the data directly with Mousesack beyond the verbal information of recent days.

"Their language... you learned it so quickly. Can you teach it to others?" asked Mousesack, impressed.

'He absorbed it in just a few seconds, entering that elf's mind...' Mousesack couldn't help but think with a certain astonishment, staring at the young man before him with red eyes. He still remembered that those eyes had only one tomoe and had grown stronger, gaining more tomoe until reaching three, which Madara had in both eyes.

However, the ability to absorb knowledge and use it with those eyes was beyond what Mousesack believed the boy was capable of — it was far too abnormal. To the point where Madara not only learned a language in seconds but also assimilated part of the history and culture of a being from another world, even if limited to the mind of a single elf whose mind had been invaded.

It was unbelievable, but it also made Mousesack sigh in relief — it was a good thing Madara was an ally and that he knew the boy's character. He could be the most powerful killing machine on the continent, but he always had good judgment.

'This boy... he might not even have reached his peak yet,' thought Mousesack with a smile, still remembering the war reports.

Madara had been questioned by the druid about what had really happened. Madara said that, for a moment, he had released the full potential of his powers — even if only once. And that had been enough to instill fear in everyone.

It was no wonder that no kingdom, even after sending nobles to try to maintain contact or spy, dared to do anything against him or Ciri.

"We can try to do the same with the information I gathered about the dragons," said Madara, since the book about dragons had been completed three days earlier.

In the book, the location of the land of dragons was mentioned, but it was practically inaccessible — not even sorcerers opening portals could reach that place, unless by air. And even then, there were secrets about the dragons that humans had never had access to, all recorded in that book.

Mousesack was using some spells to reproduce copies of the book. Madara intended to deliver some to important people and to give one as a gift to Vesemir, who would certainly love to have that record in his library at the School of the Wolf.

A less detailed copy would be released to the general public, without revealing the location of the dragons' habitat and other vital information — only enough to expand people's understanding and knowledge about dragons. Madara didn't want the dragons to be harmed in the future through the knowledge of the main book; it would be used only if necessary and kept in the possession of the most important and trustworthy people on the continent.

"I'm already teaching the Aen Elle language to Ciri as a priority. I've spent the last few days wanting her to understand her enemy, because I won't always be there when they attack," said Madara, while Mousesack observed him attentively.

"Speaking of that... I've noticed a few things... Is she all right?" asked the druid in a more cautious tone.

"I hope so. She's been acting strangely for the past two days," Madara commented.

"You don't know yet?" insisted Mousesack, his piercing gaze fixed on Madara, as if he already knew something.

"I intend to find out soon. If it's what you're thinking... we're going to have a very long conversation, between me and her..." replied Madara, making the druid raise an eyebrow.

"Well, I won't get involved in your matters," murmured Mousesack. "But I want to inform you of something. We received this letter this morning."

He placed a scroll in front of Madara, who took it and opened it. The seal bore the symbol of the Kingdom of Lydia.

"Marshal Vissegerd... It seems he heard about your marriage. He's coming on a ship to the islands and will arrive in a few days — he certainly wants to see you both," said Mousesack.

"Well, it's been a while since I last saw him, and Ciri as well... I imagine he'll want to ask questions about Cintra and what our intentions are with him... or he'll beg us to return to the kingdom," replied Madara in an indifferent tone.

The person on his way was none other than a high commander of Cintra, one of the few survivors. After the war, many had fled and taken refuge in other kingdoms. Some who survived the first great battle against the North went to Sodden Hill to join the army, others went to Temeria or Lydia — and there were even men who went to Kaedwen, and some were now serving in Redania.

"He'll certainly do that. The question is: what will you answer?" Mousesack looked at him.

"I don't have time for that. You know very well that Cintra will be reclaimed, but not now. Anyway, Ciri is with Yennefer and Triss, I'll take care of some things elsewhere," said Madara, while Mousesack nodded.

"Please, come to my laboratory when you're available. I want to discuss the elves, their language. I'd like you to try teaching it to me as well. Even for an old man like me..." said the druid with a faint, tired smile.

"You're many things, Mousesack, but you're not stupid. Anyway, we'll talk later. Goodbye," replied Madara, leaving the laboratory.

He knew Ciri was talking with Yennefer and Triss, so he left her there. He simply found a window, jumped from it, and made a summoning seal in the air. He summoned Totó before landing in the city, the glyph spreading its wings and roaring like an eagle soaring over the place. The people who saw it were left speechless — it was a sudden scene, but one that never lost its charm.

Soon, Madara was already at the forest cabin.

He had built a deck by the small lake out of wood, where he sat and watched his reflection in the water. When he extended his hand, he murmured:

"It's time to learn other tricks," he whispered to himself.

The system had given him two common elements — fire and wind — and two advanced ones, Kekkei Genkai, if he took the Sharingan out of the equation: the storm element and the wood element.

It was possible to learn other elements through effort, just like Hiruzen Sarutobi, and when he unlocked the Rinnegan, he would have the ability to master every possible element with ease. But Madara didn't want exactly that. He wanted to develop something more raw.

At that moment, there were many paths he could take, even if it strayed a bit from the original character that was Madara Uchiha. Still, it could help him there.

He could learn the Rasengan, the Edo Tensei, the Flying Raijin, and other jutsus — there was a long list of techniques he could focus on from that point forward.

They weren't jutsus he expected the system to provide for him. He had developed the Chidori with the storm element on his own, after acquiring that element. The same went for many techniques he himself had created over the past few years.

But this time, the jutsus were more complicated. On one hand, the problem was that he wouldn't have any help — there were no documents, techniques, or masters in that world who could guide him.

On the other hand, his experience with chakra was vast. He possessed half the knowledge that the real Madara had at his peak before becoming the jinchūriki of the Ten-Tails, and that should be enough to begin developing everything he needed. Not to mention the knowledge he carried from his past life about the world of Naruto.

It was time to expand his boundaries — to surpass levels beyond those the legendary Uchiha had achieved.

The Rasengan, and especially the Raijin, would be well-suited for dealing with his enemies. He wouldn't need to rely so much on his eye to teleport if he mastered the jutsus of the Second Hokage, refined by the Fourth.

Not to mention the Rasengan, which could become a raw force far greater than most of his other jutsus — capable of creating explosions that could wipe out dozens, perhaps hundreds of enemies. No mage possessed such raw power. Not even their spells came close to Madara's fire-style jutsus; not even Vilgefortz could stand against him in that war or in terms of sheer strength.

His gaze fell upon his hand, and he couldn't help but imagine a rotating sphere of chakra.

"Well... it's time to begin training. We'll start with the Rasengan, then the Raijin," Madara murmured, as the space beside the house distorted in a green shimmer. A young woman emerged from it and looked at him while Madara still hadn't lifted his gaze, her steps drawing closer.

"So this is where you've been hiding. I sensed you, you know? It was the first place I looked for my husband!" said Ciri, as Madara raised an eyebrow, still staring at his reflection in the water and lowering his hand.

Madara must have been there for hours, because the day was already ending.

"What are you thinking about?" she asked, her smile fading slightly, curiosity in her tone.

"Thinking," he replied simply.

"Thinking?" she murmured, stepping closer and sitting beside him at the edge of the deck.

He opened a small smile and looked at her. "Thinking about how to become stronger," he said.

"That sounds interesting... Stronger than you already are?" she teased. "I can only imagine how our enemies must have suffered at your hands, my husband."

She rested her head on his shoulder. Their reflection rippled in the water, and Madara couldn't help but watch her, completely forgetting about the training he had been thinking about just moments earlier.

"So... when were you going to tell me that I'm going to be a father?" he asked suddenly, feeling her body tremble slightly.

"I-I was going to tell you... I just couldn't," Ciri murmured, trying to defend herself as she pulled away a little, expecting him to be angry.

"I'll admit, I didn't want to have a child right now, Ciri. It's a risk... But since you didn't use those herbs for those days, this could have happened, even if it was out of stubbornness... I'm not angry, actually... I'm surprised. And nervous," he admitted.

She stayed silent for a few seconds before opening a shy smile.

"You're not angry?"

"No."

"You want our child?"

"Why would I deny that, Ciri? That child in your womb is our son," he replied, gazing at her. "I'm happier than I can admit." He looked embarrassed.

He smiled, and she didn't think twice before throwing herself into his arms and kissing him deeply.

"I know I was irresponsible, but I'm happy that we're going to be parents, Madara. Our child... a child after our wedding. It's better than I ever hoped for. I'm sorry, but I wanted this, I had such a strong desire to be a mother, a desire for our love to create a child... that I didn't take the contraceptives Yennefer gave me... Will you forgive me...?" she said, as Madara held her tightly.

"I forgive you, Ciri. I just don't want this child to suffer at the hands of our enemies... I'm only afraid that something might happen to them, but I promise I'll protect you both..."

No matter what came next — he would protect the mother and the child growing within her.
