Chapter 465 - Chapter 465: How Does It Feel?

Kassandra felt like she was dreaming.

In that dream, two magicians brought her brother's descendant to her. They were very young, yet possessed abilities that even she found astonishing-spatial teleportation. The one in front told her his name was Noah. He also told her that the Isu had deceived her.

Kassandra had her own desires.

Two thousand five hundred years of life had almost erased her memory of kinship, friendship, and love. Loneliness had long since taken root. Everyone she knew, even her own descendants, had died before her eyes. She had no companions, only a mission, waiting for the next person who would inherit that burden.

Then this wizard named Noah appeared.

Something inside her stirred again.

She wasn't sure if Noah was deceiving her, but one thing was undeniable-she could feel the immense life force within him. Not only Noah, but also the slightly plump man beside him. He was weaker than Noah, but still far beyond ordinary people.

That kind of life force meant longevity.

And these magicians... their lifespans would not be short.

With such vitality, loneliness would no longer be inevitable.

Kassandra envied them.

That was why she hesitated.

Join them, or refuse?

The two choices circled endlessly in her mind. In the end, she decided to try.

"I've carried the Isu's mission for too long. I'm tired," she thought. "And after this man arrived, I felt a terrifying will watching me."

It was the first time she had sensed something like that.

Even more dreadful than Poseidon.

She knew that if that existence wanted her dead, she would have no chance to resist.

That realization confirmed Noah's words.

This world was far larger than she had imagined.

And she could tell Noah wasn't lying.

So she chose to try, no matter the result.

"Maybe I'm crazy," she laughed at herself. "Or maybe I'm just tired of living."

After watching Noah perfectly recreate her body with technology, her resolve solidified.

If it succeeded, perhaps she could see her loved ones again.

If it failed... it didn't matter.

Looking at that young, vibrant body, Kassandra smiled.

It was her younger self.

Untouched by hardship. Without power.

Yet she could clearly feel the bloodline connection.

"Remarkable craftsmanship," she said softly. "I never imagined technology could reach this level."

When only Noah remained in the room, she slowly set her staff aside.

In that instant, she felt her body collapsing.

Her life force drained away.

For the first time, fear surfaced.

Death itself didn't frighten her. Her hands had been soaked in blood since antiquity. If anyone had killed the most people personally, it was her.

But the process of dying-

That sensation-

It was unbearable.

"Perhaps this really is a dream," she murmured. "Mother Earth... I return to your embrace..."

Her body felt lighter. Lighter still. As if floating, returning to where she belonged.

Then-

A terrifying force dragged her back.

In that instant, it felt like she woke from a dream.

Everything was real, yet unreal.

She struggled to open her eyes and vaguely saw Noah's hand glowing with golden light. She herself seemed to be held firmly under his control.

"What... is happening?" Kassandra murmured.

Reality and illusion blurred together.

Before she could think further, darkness fell.

Then-

Pain.

Intense pain surged through her body.

Her consciousness snapped back.

So did her sense of touch.

It was like waking from a dream.

Unreal.

Yet painfully real.

"How does it feel?"

A familiar, yet unfamiliar voice sounded beside her ear.

"I didn't expect your soul intensity to be so low. But thinking about it, that's normal. You lived over two thousand years without training your mental strength."

"Fortunately, I noticed in time. Otherwise, you'd be a vegetable."

A vegetable?

She knew the word, but not why it applied to her.

Before she could think more, a sharp pain pierced her mind.

Memories flooded back.

"Memory stimulation magic," the voice continued. "Created so magicians don't forget important things. Luckily, I understand soul magic. Otherwise, you'd remember nothing."

I'd rather remember nothing, Kassandra complained inwardly.

The pain intensified.

Two thousand five hundred years of memories.

It could have been an instant.

Or a century.

Her head felt like it was about to explode.

She wanted to scream-

Then a mysterious power poured into her body.

The pain eased.

"Sorry," the voice said. "Lack of experience. I forgot how vast your memories were, and this body is basically blank. Some functions couldn't keep up."

"But I fixed it with magic. No need to thank me."

"I'd rather kill you," Kassandra said weakly.

Then she froze.

She had spoken.

Her voice echoed near her ear.

And more importantly-

She could move.

"Oh?" The voice carried a hint of amusement. "Seems the magic worked well. Honestly, in your current state, killing me is wishful thinking."

"A test. Who am I?"

"Noah Feniel," Kassandra replied weakly. "An annoying magician."

"You can drop the 'annoying,'" Noah sighed. "Am I really that irritating to women? You're not the first to say it."

"Others think so too?" Kassandra replied calmly. "Then it must be true."

"Most of the people who say that are men," Noah said. "Anyway, I'll replenish your life force. That'll restore your vitality."

"Life force?" Kassandra asked.

Noah didn't answer.

Instead, a powerful surge of vitality flowed into her body.

Her body recovered rapidly.

In that moment, Kassandra understood.

Noah hadn't deceived her.

Magicians truly possessed methods to extend life.

She could feel it clearly-her life force surged, her bodily functions restoring at astonishing speed.

"Alright," Noah said. "Try getting up."

Kassandra frowned and opened her eyes.

White light.

A room filled with sci-fi aesthetics.

Just like before she lost consciousness.

She raised her hands.

Smooth. Fair. No calluses.

A completely new body.

Emotion swelled in her chest.

She slowly sat up.

Then she looked down.

Her expression stiffened.

She was naked.

She remembered this body had no clothes during the experiment.

But now-

This was her body.

Fortunately, Kassandra was experienced.

The discomfort passed quickly, and she said nothing.

But when she tried to jump off the operating table, her legs gave out.

If Noah hadn't reacted instantly, she would've fallen.

"What's wrong?" she frowned at him.

"You really don't know how strong you used to be?" Noah looked helpless. "You're basically a newborn now. Give yourself time to adapt."

Kassandra nodded.

Then she noticed the withered remains nearby.

"Is that... me?"

"Yes," Noah glanced over. "It turned to dust too fast. Otherwise, I might've preserved it."

"I see."

She paused, then looked at him with confusion.

"Can I ask something?"

"Go ahead."

"Do you often carry women?"

"No?" Noah looked puzzled. "Why?"

"How does it feel now?"

"Very good. Very soft-"

He froze.

"Uh... sorry. I didn't mean that."
