In the dimly lit room, Kaecilius sat motionless.
His condition was terrible.
Noah's blow had been overwhelming. Even now, recalling it made Kaecilius's hands tremble. That kind of flawless, absolute suppression left no room for excuses.
He was too strong.
That boy genius-someone Kaecilius had watched grow from a magic academy apprentice-had become an existence Kaecilius couldn't contend with at all.
The ease with which Noah twisted space, casually sealing him inside the Mirror Dimension, was something Kaecilius didn't believe he himself could replicate.
And the most humiliating part?
Space magic wasn't even Noah's specialty.
Noah was famous for elemental magic. Miraculous, overwhelming elemental magic.
Yet he had defeated Kaecilius using what Kaecilius considered his own strongest field.
That realization alone was devastating.
Kaecilius let out a long breath, his mind in turmoil.
If Noah was already this strong, then how terrifying was their teacher, truly?
And Noah's words-about cherishing the "few people who still cared about him"-had struck even deeper.
Kaecilius had no family left.
Everything he had done was for his family.
For that goal, he had ignored friends.
Ignored the few people who had still cared about him in silence.
Now, having that fact pointed out so bluntly left him shaken.
"...Alas."
Kaecilius sighed deeply.
His thoughts were chaotic, but he couldn't afford chaos now.
He had already stepped into the abyss.
Something vast and terrifying was watching him from within it.
There was no way back.
Fixed impressions. Wrong perceptions.
Coupled with the same mistake Noah had once made-trying to shoulder everything alone, refusing to ask for help or communicate.
That was why Kaecilius believed he could only continue forward.
"Mentor."
A woman with smoky eyes approached and bowed deeply.
Kaecilius came back to his senses and nodded.
"Yes, Master Nicole. What is it?"
"We're ready," Nicole said softly, still keeping her head lowered. "All materials have been prepared. England caused some issues, but we supplemented them from other regions. Everyone is fine, except for Masters Durant and Crouch. They... sacrificed themselves."
Kaecilius froze for a moment.
Durant and Crouch.
They had been responsible for the England missions.
Truthfully, Kaecilius hadn't wanted them anywhere near London.
That place was Noah's backyard.
A real backyard.
But circumstances left him no choice, so he had silently approved it.
And the result was exactly what he feared.
They were exposed.
Killed without hesitation.
And he himself had nearly died at Noah's hands.
"Mentor, Masters Durant and Crouch sacrificed themselves for our great cause," Nicole continued. "They won't regret it. Even if you were implicated."
"I'm fine," Kaecilius said quietly. "Noah is indeed powerful. But when the great Dormammu arrives, none of that will matter."
He paused.
"It's just a pity... for Durant and Crouch."
"Of course," Nicole replied calmly. "The Dark Lord Dormammu is invincible."
She hesitated, then added, "Mentor, we've identified who caused their deaths."
"Oh?" Kaecilius tilted his head.
That surprised him.
There were too many possible culprits. Independent sorcerer groups. The British Ministry of Magic. Even Noah himself.
Pinpointing a single murderer was meaningless.
And revenge?
Against Noah?
That was absurd.
"It was an exorcist," Nicole said.
She seemed to anticipate his doubts and explained immediately.
"Durant was exposed first. Crouch was discovered after he attacked an exorcist. His magical energy fluctuated, which led Noah Fenrir directly to him."
"...An exorcist."
Kaecilius sighed.
He knew this had little to do with the exorcist.
Even without that incident, Noah's spatial control would have exposed them sooner or later.
But he didn't say that.
He understood what his followers needed.
They needed a target.
Fear of Noah Fenrir was already suffocating them.
Without somewhere to vent it, they wouldn't be able to carry out their tasks.
"I understand," Kaecilius nodded. "Do what you wish. But remember-be careful."
"Yes, Mentor," Nicole bowed again. "It's only an exorcist. We'll deal with it quickly. No traces."
"Let's hope so," Kaecilius said. "Inform the others. Prepare yourselves. We move soon."
"Yes, Mentor. Our destination?"
"All Sanctums."
He opened his eyes.
"All Sanctums except London."
-
"So this was already planned by you and the Master?"
In Noah's former room at Kamar-Taj, Wong, Mordo, and Victor stared at him in disbelief.
What Noah had just explained was insane.
Beyond insane.
They were going to let one of Kamar-Taj's greatest enemies-its most dangerous one-walk straight in.
No matter how they thought about it, the plan sounded reckless and terrifying.
Yet they had no room to object.
This decision came from the Sorcerer Supreme.
From their teacher.
"That's enough," Noah said bluntly. "Now that you know the plan, calm down and don't cause trouble."
"This has already been decided. I've discussed it with His Majesty Odin. He supports it."
"...That's insane," Wong muttered.
He swallowed before asking, "Alright. Then tell me-how are you planning to deal with Dormammu?"
"You don't need to worry that much," Noah replied with a faint smile. "Master has already crossed that threshold."
"...What?"
Mordo snapped his head up.
"When did that happen?!"
Wong looked just as shocked.
Their teacher had crossed that stage?
That meant she had entered an entirely new realm.
Why had she never said anything?
The two exchanged glances, seeing only confusion in each other's eyes.
Then they both looked back at Noah.
Victor, meanwhile, had no idea what was going on.
"You... didn't know?" Noah was surprised. "Didn't I leave Earth once before? I went to a parallel universe."
"Of course we know that," Wong immediately complained. "But you never said how you went!"
"You just said it was a future universe similar to ours!"
"Wait," Mordo stared at Noah. "You went to a future universe?"
"You bastard. You never told me anything!"
Noah rubbed his temples.
Thinking back, he really hadn't explained much.
He'd joked with Wong.
Teased him about being fat in that universe.
Mentioned that the Sorcerer Supreme there wasn't himself.
That was about it.
And Mordo?
They hadn't even met. Just one phone call.
No wonder Mordo knew nothing.
"This is getting off-topic," Noah said, cutting them off. "We'll talk about that universe later. Including Master's situation."
He looked at them seriously.
"The plan must proceed. But we don't want unnecessary chaos. So I need you to do something."
"Tell us," Wong said immediately. "What do you need?"
"I need you to go to the two Sanctums besides London," Noah said. "One Sanctum is for evacuation. The other will be used for a high-level summoning."
He paused.
"Let them perform the summoning at the New York Sanctum. You two handle the rescue. Clear?"
"No problem," Wong nodded.
Mordo agreed as well.
"...Then can you explain everything properly now?"
