Chapter 586 - Chapter 586: Noah Doesn't Get to Rest

Noah truly couldn't refuse the conditions Odin offered.

They were simply too tempting.

Tempting enough that even Noah felt his eyes heat up.

It was only a choice between two options, but no matter which one he picked, it would be a massive benefit.

The Light energy problem had troubled Noah for a very long time.

If Odin could really help him resolve it, Noah would save himself an enormous amount of trouble.

As for "having a good talk" with Hela?

That wasn't an issue at all.

If this had been earlier, Noah would have had to worry about Hela growing stronger after returning to Asgard.

Now?

He didn't need to worry nearly as much.

Fat Thor was here.

Don't let that ridiculous appearance fool you.

This guy was a genuine Tenth Order existence.

As long as he recovered, setting everything else aside, his raw attack power alone would be more than enough to give Hela a hard time.

And Noah was absolutely certain of one thing.

Fat Thor would be very happy to help teach his sister a lesson.

In his universe, Asgard had been destroyed.

And although Hela wasn't the sole cause, she was undeniably the main culprit.

With Fat Thor added to the equation, what had once been an extremely troublesome situation suddenly became much simpler.

At the very least, Noah felt that with this guy around, a lot of things would get easier.

After weighing all the pros and cons, Noah smiled at Odin.

"Thank you, Your Majesty. I'll make the necessary preparations. But-"

"You can have him help you," Odin said calmly, as if reading Noah's thoughts. "No matter what, he is still Thor, the God of Thunder."

"Although... what do you call him now?"

"Fat ball?"

"Couch potato?"

"A fat guy waiting to die?"

"..."

Odin looked at Noah with an awkward expression.

Even if this Thor came from another universe, their bloodline was identical.

In other words, Fat Thor was still his son.

Noah's description was... painful.

Noah immediately noticed the atmosphere and added quickly, "Of course, fat guys are all potential stocks. Just look at this universe's Thor."

"Ha."

Odin didn't know how to respond.

And he didn't bother dwelling on it.

Looking at the people outside the Mirror Dimension, Odin's expression softened slightly.

A faint, benevolent smile appeared.

Noah understood.

For an overlord like Odin, he had already obtained everything life could offer.

Those external achievements no longer mattered.

What truly mattered now was family.

No living being was without emotion.

And the most fundamental emotions often became the most precious at the twilight of life.

After success.

Or when approaching the end.

Most people never get to savor that.

Life is too short.

Which is why there are sayings like-

The tree wishes for stillness, but the wind won't stop.

The child wishes to care for their parents, but they are gone.

Odin was fortunate.

As an Asgardian, he didn't need to worry about lifespan.

After fulfilling his ideals, he could finally slow down.

And enjoy time with his family.

Suddenly, Noah understood something.

Why Odin wanted to release Hela.

As a king, it was an unqualified decision.

But as a father?

It was understandable.

And there was another key factor.

Odin had already prepared to hand the throne to Thor.

When Noah arrived earlier, it was Thor handling affairs.

Odin and Frigga were simply watching.

That alone was a powerful signal.

Noah was genuinely happy about it.

Thor was an old friend.

Reaching this point was the best possible outcome.

In other words-

The future Sorcerer Supreme.

And the future King of Asgard.

Both were already in place.

And their relationship was stable.

After a few more brief exchanges, Noah prepared to leave.

His main purpose had already been fulfilled.

He'd returned Fat Thor.

Seen some amusing scenes.

And gained unexpected benefits.

There was no reason to stay.

Things were about to get very busy.

Kaecilius.

Dormammu.

Then Hela.

Valkyrie might be involved-or maybe not.

That wasn't Noah's concern.

He only needed to act as a reliable enforcer.

Hela was the real issue.

She would be weak at first.

But she would grow stronger.

As for Valkyrie's feelings toward her?

Not Noah's problem.

After dealing with Hela, it would be time for Noah to choose.

And honestly, the choice wasn't difficult.

Compared to helping others, Noah preferred helping himself.

Soul summoning wasn't that important.

From any perspective.

He'd already made up his mind.

After saying his goodbyes, Noah opened a portal and returned directly to Kamar-Taj.

On the way, he sent a message to Wong, asking him to come over.

He also casually stopped another sorcerer and had them pass word to Mordo and Victor.

Only after that did he walk toward his old residence.

When Noah arrived, he froze.

The room was exactly the same as it had been twenty years ago.

Untouched.

Unused.

No one had lived there.

It made him feel... conflicted.

A little moved.

A little helpless.

He had no intention of living here again.

"Looking at your old room," a voice said from behind him, "do you see your fourteen- or fifteen-year-old self?"

"Those youthful years."

"That irretrievable prime..."

"You should read more Shakespeare," Noah replied without turning around. "Or Dumas, père et fils."

"But don't make things up."

"You don't have the level, Mordo."

"Is that so?" Mordo stroked his chin, looking regretful. "That's a shame."

"I thought I might sell something interesting."

"Hello, Noah."

Victor greeted him cautiously.

He still didn't dare joke the way Mordo did.

Compared to them, Wong was the most extreme.

Arms crossed.

Expression clear.

Say it quickly. I'm busy.

Noah ignored him completely.

"Alright," Noah said once everyone was present. "I called you here to talk about something."

"This needs to be clear first."

"Kaecilius?" Wong asked immediately, his tone serious. "I heard from the Ministry of Magic."

"You killed two of his apprentices."

"I also heard you attacked Kaecilius directly," Mordo added.

"Yes," Noah nodded. "I did all of that."

"He's been going too far."

"Too reckless."

"I needed to teach him a lesson."

Noah had no intention of denying it.

He rarely acted anonymously.

In the magical world, at least.

In the mundane world, it was different.

Sorcerers all shared that flaw.

Nothing special.

"Seriously," Mordo tilted his head, "didn't you want to kill him a long time ago?"

"Why didn't you take the chance?"

"And what exactly is he trying to do now?"

"He's becoming more and more extreme, isn't he?"

"He wants to summon Dormammu," Noah said calmly.

"Damn it!"

Before he finished, Wong and Mordo turned and headed straight for the exit.

Even Noah was stunned.

"What are you doing?"

"Going to kill him," Wong snapped. "Obviously."

"You knew his plan and didn't kill him?"

Mordo and even Victor looked eager to move.

Noah immediately realized he had to stop this.

If these three acted together, Kaecilius wouldn't last a second.

And if Kaecilius didn't summon Dormammu-

Who would?

Was Noah supposed to do it himself?

That thought alone darkened his expression.

The plan he and the Ancient One had set couldn't be changed.

And it certainly couldn't be ruined here.

"Stop."

Noah's voice echoed sharply.

Wong and Mordo froze.

"What?" Wong asked. "What's wrong?"

"Are you trying to ruin my and Teacher's arrangements?" Noah rolled his eyes.

"Getting rid of Kaecilius would take me less than a blink."

"The last time I dealt with him, it didn't even take a minute."

"I let him live."

"Do you think I'm an idiot?"

"My relationship with him has been terrible since childhood."

The room fell silent.

Wong and Mordo exchanged looks.

Then slowly calmed down.

Mordo cleared his throat.

"Do you have any idea how terrifying Dormammu is?"

"Of course I do," Noah replied. "That's why I asked you to watch him."

"...Alright," Mordo said slowly. "So what's your and Teacher's plan?"

"If it's inconvenient, you don't have to explain."

"No," Noah said. "I actually need your help now."
