Chapter 585 - Chapter 585: An Offer Too Tempting

Faced with Noah's blunt words, Fat Thor fell silent.

For a moment, he didn't know how to respond.

Because Noah was right.

He really had thought about it.

Time was relative. No matter how long he stayed in this universe, it wouldn't affect his own timeline at all.

More importantly, back in his universe, Fat Thor carried no burdens.

Thanos was gone.

As for future threats?

Who knew when they would appear.

Asgard had already been handed over to Valkyrie. In Thor's eyes, she was far more suitable to rule than he ever was.

He had no regrets there.

And lifespan?

That question itself was an insult to Asgardians.

They were long-lived by nature. And with Fat Thor already a Tenth-Order existence, time meant nothing to him.

So yes.

He wanted to stay.

Very much so.

Having his thoughts exposed so directly, however, made him feel a little awkward.

He rubbed his belly and chose not to say anything more.

Since he was already here, explanations were pointless.

Noah was familiar with Asgard.

Fat Thor was even more familiar.

Along the way, Asgardian soldiers stared at Fat Thor in confusion. None of them could understand how their prince had turned into this.

Honestly, if Noah hadn't been standing beside him-

And if this Thor hadn't accurately called out every soldier by name-

They would have already moved to apprehend this "impostor."

After a few minutes, they arrived at Odin's palace.

Loki was already waiting outside.

When he saw them, his eyes lit up and he walked over with a grin.

"Hey, fat ball-uh, Thor!"

He instinctively reached out to pat Fat Thor's belly.

Then froze.

Noah's gaze shifted.

Loki immediately withdrew his hand.

"And you, Noah," Loki said smoothly. "Long time no see."

"Mmm," Noah spread his hands. "Though I doubt you wanted to see me at all."

Loki shrugged.

"Father said someone important was coming. I guessed it was you."

He glanced at Fat Thor.

"My idiot brother said he felt another version of himself nearby, so I assumed it was either this guy-or someone stealing Infinity Stones."

Parallel-universe Avengers stealing Infinity Stones wasn't unheard of.

They didn't always arrive at the same point in time.

Thor himself had experienced something similar.

He just hadn't expected this visitor to be a long-term stowaway.

Someone here to "vacation."

And "settle down."

"Damn it!"

As they entered the palace, the Thor seated beside Odin shot to his feet.

He marched over, glaring at Fat Thor.

"Why is it you?!"

"Did you come here just to embarrass me?!"

"Where's your Asgardian pride, you fat bastard with cream foam in your blood?!"

"Uh..."

Fat Thor scratched his head.

"I wanted to lose weight before coming. At least not embarrass you."

"But Noah didn't give me the chance. He dragged me straight here."

"Oh. My. God."

Thor was about to explode.

Then-

"Thor!"

Frigga rushed forward from behind him.

She stopped in front of Fat Thor.

Her voice trembled.

She gently touched his face.

"My goodness... look what time has done to you."

"And your eye..."

Fat Thor's eyes welled up.

He looked completely lost.

"Mother... I'm your son."

"You both are," Frigga said calmly.

"No matter how many universes exist, our bloodline is the same."

"You are my son."

"And so is he."

She held Fat Thor's face.

"Tell me, child. Are you well?"

Watching this, Noah lowered his head and quietly chuckled.

If not for Thor's expression of my treasure has been stolen-

And Loki's barely concealed amusement-

He might have laughed outright.

Choosing not to interfere, Noah shifted his gaze to Odin on the throne.

Odin noticed.

He nodded slightly.

Noah understood.

Golden light surged.

Space shattered like glass.

Noah stepped through the fragments and appeared beside Odin.

He bowed deeply.

"Noah," Odin said with a smile, "your magic has grown stronger."

"I can even sense traces of law."

"Law?"

Noah had heard the term before.

The system had mentioned it.

Novels were full of it.

But he still didn't truly understand.

"What exactly are laws, Your Majesty?"

"Laws are rules," Odin replied casually.

"The inevitable rules by which existence operates."

He smiled.

"In truth, sorcerers have always been ahead."

"They pursue magic and knowledge, and through that, they touch the essence of the world."

"That essence... is a form of rule."

"Rules..." Noah frowned slightly.

His thoughts tangled.

Sorcerers sought knowledge.

Through knowledge, they reached essence.

And essence was rule?

The concept was vague.

Some rules were inevitable.

Others weren't absolute.

"Don't think about it yet," Odin said suddenly.

"It's too early."

"You aren't even a demigod."

"And the demigod I speak of is not our Asgardian 'god.'"

"I understand, King Odin," Noah said immediately.

"I will continue to work hard."

"I trust you," Odin smiled. "Just as I trust my own children."

"I also haven't properly thanked you."

"For what you've done for Thor and Loki."

"You gave them confidence."

"You pushed them forward."

"That is your credit."

"It was their own effort," Noah replied honestly.

He didn't dare take credit here.

Talent and dedication mattered.

You couldn't train a pig into a sorcerer.

"Continue like this," Odin said, unconcerned with modesty.

"I know your intentions."

"And your teacher's."

"I support them."

"But be careful."

"Understood?"

"Don't worry, Your Majesty," Noah said seriously.

"I can handle it."

Earth was part of the Nine Realms.

Odin couldn't possibly be unaware.

And with the Ancient One involved, secrecy was impossible.

Noah even suspected his teacher initially wanted to suppress things.

Less trouble.

Less chaos.

But Odin thought differently.

Rather than dealing with endless trouble-

Eliminate the source.

That was Odin.

A benevolent king now.

A bloodstained conqueror at heart.

Dormammu would be allowed to suffer on Earth.

Whether he survived or not-

He would retreat for a long time.

Thinking of that, Noah sighed.

After Dormammu...

Kaecilius would be next.

"I trust your judgment," Odin said calmly.

"Oh, right."

"After this is over, you, the two Thors, and Loki will go to Sakaar."

"Sakaar?" Noah tilted his head.

"Didn't you want me to have a 'talk' with your daughter?"

"Why recall the last Valkyrie now?"

"Children who leave home always return," Odin said.

"As compensation, I'll offer you a choice."

"I will locate two parallel worlds."

"You may choose one."

"Only one."

"Oh?"

Noah's interest sharpened.

"What kind of worlds?"

"One holds the power of Light."

"The other offers a path into the realm of the Dead."

"The choice is yours."
