Tony's blunt mockery effectively drew a line under the whole incident.
It had to be said-Fat Thor's timing was terrifyingly precise.
Or perhaps, without realizing it, he had directly strangled a potential civil war in its cradle.
Everyone understood Tony's intentions.
Everyone also understood that as long as no one deliberately sought death, nothing would actually go wrong.
So the Avengers reached a tacit agreement.
They knew nothing.
This was done by outsiders.
Who exactly did it would require investigation.
As for how long that investigation would take?
Unknown.
Tony had no objections.
To be honest, he wasn't afraid of trouble, nor did he particularly care.
If anything, having one less headache wasn't a bad thing.
More importantly, Tony was curious.
Curious about what Noah had done in that universe.
Noah had already told him-from his own perspective.
But Tony wanted to hear it from someone else.
Thor was the perfect choice.
Fat Thor seemed just as curious about this universe.
So he spoke freely.
Other universes.
Different teams.
Each person's experiences.
And finally-Noah.
Only then did the Avengers truly realize something.
They had already thought this sorcerer was terrifying.
But now?
Terrifying wasn't enough.
Thanos was powerful.
But Noah, together with their universe's Thor and Loki, had directly wiped him out.
Cleanly.
In other words, the sorcerer of their universe was practically a savior.
That realization carried weight.
If Noah existed here...
Then wouldn't their universe avoid that disastrous future entirely?
Of course, they also learned other things.
Vision never appeared.
Wanda didn't join the Avengers-she followed Noah.
And there was Spider-Man.
Still swinging around New York.
None of that mattered much.
What mattered was the outcome.
Victory.
At the cost of one person.
Natasha.
"So that's another reason I came," Thor said after finishing his account. He took out the diamond Noah had left behind. "To ask you to resurrect Natasha."
"Tony's already trying. He keeps muttering about not losing to the Tony of this universe. I don't care about that kind of thing, so-"
Tony couldn't help but smile faintly.
He really lived up to his name.
Never willing to admit defeat.
Noah found it amusing.
The two Tonys were different, but not that different.
Looking at Tony, Noah suddenly reached out and smacked him on the head.
Hard.
Tony yelped and stared at him, stunned.
The other Avengers froze.
"What the hell are you doing?!" Tony snarled. "That hurt!"
"You've been too gloomy lately," Noah said flatly. "That's not the idiot I know."
"I'm not an idiot! I'm Tony Stark!" Tony shot back. "If I'm an idiot, the whole world is an idiot!"
"Fine," Noah said calmly. "A conceited idiot. Keep it up."
After that, Noah felt much better.
Since learning the truth about his parents, Tony's mental state had been awful.
Too quiet. Too heavy.
Nothing like the confident, sharp-tongued man Noah remembered.
Noah understood it.
Anyone would be shaken by something like that.
But understanding didn't mean letting it slide.
Tony wasn't allowed to break under his watch.
"Alright, alright," Tony muttered, rubbing his head. "I get it..."
He looked like he'd been struck by divine punishment.
Noah ignored him and turned to Fat Thor.
"Resurrection isn't a problem. It won't take long," Noah said. "But you're traveling. You must have a destination, right?"
"...Not really," Fat Thor scratched his head. "I just wanted to see you guys. I'm pretty free now."
"Then come with me to Asgard," Noah said suddenly, a mischievous smile appearing. "Some people will be very happy to see you like this."
Asgard.
That word alone stunned Thor.
Then the implication hit him.
Asgard in his universe was gone.
Rebuilt on Earth.
But here?
Asgard still floated in the sky.
Intact.
And more importantly-
His parents were alive.
His brother too.
The thought stirred something deep in him.
The last time he saw his mother, he couldn't stay.
He had a mission.
This time?
He could stay.
Which also meant-
"Damn it," Thor's face darkened.
His mother might be gentle.
But Odin?
Odin would not let him off.
And Frigga would probably help.
"Nope," Thor shook his head vigorously. "No need. I'll go back on my own."
"That's not up to you," Noah said calmly.
Golden light flickered.
In the next instant, both of them vanished.
The Avengers stared at the empty space.
No one spoke for a long time.
Everything that had happened today was too much.
Tony's confession.
His motives.
A Thor from another universe.
A sorcerer who wiped out an alien armada.
It all felt unreal.
"I feel like I just had a dream," Scott muttered at last. "One I can't tell is real or fake."
"Alright, Mr. Stewart," Tony rolled his eyes. "Save your literary nonsense. You might pass an elementary essay, but that sounded like a fart."
"Tony," Steve said, finally cutting in. "Enough. I'm sorry things turned out like this because of me. But how's your research?"
"How is it?" Tony grinned. "Finished."
"I even made Pym Particles myself. The machine still needs building, but Jarvis has already simulated everything."
Tony looked... normal again.
Relaxed. Confident.
That alone made Steve and Bucky breathe easier.
The previous Tony-the silent, expressionless one-had been terrifying.
"Oh, right," Tony added suddenly, turning to Natasha. "Save a blood sample for me."
"For resurrecting the me from that universe?" Natasha smiled. "Of course. Honestly, I'm curious to meet her."
By the time they finished talking, Noah had already dragged Fat Thor into Asgard.
Thor was powerful.
But without a goal, his recovery was slow.
Especially his body.
Noah knew he could restore his physique instantly.
But Thor hadn't.
Noah didn't mind.
Thor's purpose was clear.
Family.
That was why he chose this universe.
"Seriously," Thor muttered as they arrived. "Can't you warn me first? I'm not a prince here. What if this causes a diplomatic incident?"
"Do you think that's possible?" Noah grinned. "I dragged this universe's Thor and Loki across universes. What do you think my relationship with Asgard is like?"
"...Couldn't you at least let me lose weight first?"
"If you lose weight," Noah replied calmly, "you'll stay here for less time."
Thor froze.
"...Damn you."
