"Please, don't tell anybody!" Arabella clung to Ada's hand in an attempt to prevent her from running out of the room to call for help.
"Have you gone completely insane?" Ada yelled louder than she ever spoke to the young woman before, "You know there is a reason no human women have ever given birth to vampire children! I am starting to believe it is because none of them lived long enough to carry that life to term!"
Arabella clutched her own chest, doubled over and vomited more blood before falling back onto the pillow.
"Yes, but… It will ruin everything," she coughed in between her cries.
"Do you know what will ruin Katherine's day more than you falling ill?" Ada bent forward, closer to Arabella's face and spoke fast, "You dying will completely ruin it and leave no crumbs!"
"I am sorry! I am so sorry!" Arabella covered her eyes and wept harder.
