Silas' diamonds refused to leave Arabella's unconscious figure, fastened to a bed in the medical wing as the doctors examined her.
Seeing her in that state was a big enough tragedy as it was, but the worst came when her eyes fluttered open again.
Immediately, the frantic tugging and pulling on her limbs began, "What is happening? Why am I restrained?" her attention darted between her husband then the two doctors tending to her.
Silas attempted to quell her fears by putting a gentle hand on her forehead, patting down to her hair, "Please, remain calm, my love. The doctors will take care of everything,"
"No! Wait! What are they going to do to my child?" her head would not rest upon the pillow, "What are you going to do?" she turned to the doctors, "please, don't hurt my child!" the crying began.
Her bloodshot eyes bore into him as if trying to set him on fire and had it not been for the lack of flames around him, Silas would have believed it worked.
