Chapter 59 - chapter 58: A banshee?

Lucas listened patiently to her as shs narrates her story.

He had a bad feeling about best revelation she was about to reveal to herself.

The revelation was that once I grow up, I will be the end of all vampires race". She said in a bare audble voice and her throat constricted.

Lucas had a blank look on his face as he didn't expect that. He had thought he would hide the vision about what the vampire prophetess had given him, but who would have thought Catherine would also know about it.

"So when they revealed it, my dad was more than furious. So he ordered for the execution of the witch, but she ran away ". She said and watched how Lucas kept staring at her.

He pulled her into his embrace as he hugged her tightly.

Catherine hugged him tightly too, inhaling his masculine scent. He smells like earth. She thought with a giggle, making him pull away from her to look into her black eyes.

"I love your giggles. " He said and suddenly leaned forward as though he wanted to kiss her. Cathy closed her eyes as she waited eagerly for the kiss and her heart began to pump wildly in her chest.

Just as he was about to place his lips on her hers, he paused as his ears picked up a faint cry.

Catherine opened her eyes when she didn't see the kiss coming and she furrowed her brows when she noticed the crease on his brows.

"What's wrong?" She asked and Lucas suddenly carried her bridal style before his dragon like wings appeared and they soared high in the sky.

While they were flying, Cathy gasped in surprise as she hadn't expected them to suddenly be flying. Oh my, this had to be exhilarating. She thought as she tightened her hold around his neck.

Meanwhile,

In the black forest where Lucas always stay to hunt for wild animals to quench his bloodlust,

A young woman was sitting on a big rock, her long black hair cascaded down to her waist, down to the floor. Her eyes looked dead as her lips looked deathly pale.

Tears were slowly streaming down her cheeks as she let out a mournful cry in the Forest. Her mournful cry was so loud that all the animals and birds flew for their lives.

She kept crying non stop and then all of a sudden, she looked up in the sky when she saw two shadows flying in the sky and the next thing, when took out a magic wand and weaved it in the air causing them to almost fall to their death.

Lucas gnashed bus teeth in anger as his dark and deadly aura suddenly clouded the black forest.

Catherine's heart skipped multiple beats in fear. But because of how Lucas held her tightly, she slowly eased as Lucas slowly jumped down and carefully placed her on the ground in front of the mournful banshee.

The banshee who have been crying loudly and painfully finally stopped crying as she stared intently at Catherine.

This made Lucas pulled Catherine behind him, protecting her from the demonic banshee who they say is a spirit known for its mournful cry that foretell death or impending doom. He hated the fact that wherever he took his wife, something or someone will always want to say something bad about her.

Catherine felt her heart skipped a beat the moment she felt the gaze of this woman on her. Though, the woman looked so pale as tears were still streaming down her cheeks.

"What do you want from us? Why are you disturbing us with your mournful cries?" Lucas asked menacingly as his aura cloaked the forest.

Catherine swallowed hard, feeling goosebumps on her skin. Knowing her husband, when it comes to her safety and protection, he wouldn't even hear her out. So she did the only logical thing. She leaned forward and rested her hand on his shoulder. Lucas felt his throat gulped at her closeness, but his focus was still on the mournful banshee.

The banshee stopped crying and started crying again as though she had sensed another danger.

Lucas was beginning to get pissed at her unnecessary cries and was about to turn away to leave when he noticed that Catherine had moved away from him and walked towards the wailing woman.

"Cathy what are..." His words trailed of when he Catherine cleaned the tears of the banshee.

He had an unreadable expression on his face as he watched how his wife spoke softly to the crying woman.

"Don't cry. Tell us what you see". Catherine said softly as she kept cleaning the flowing tears with her hands. Even though she has never saw a banshee in her life, she had heard tales of how banshee could change the life of a miserable or unfortunate soul.

The banshee finally stopped crying and said in the most painful voice ever, that could break anyone's heart.

"You shouldn't have touched the water. The moment you touched the water, you already woke them up. Now that they are awake, they wouldn't hesitate to find the person that disrupt their sleep of so many decades". She said as she began to cry again.

Lucas and Catherine were so shocked, the didn't understand her.

Most especially Catherine. She didn't understand what the banshee was telling her.

"What do you mean by 'touch the water?' she asked with a frown still trying to comprehend what the banshee was saying.

The banshee, instead of answering suddenly stood up and started wailing painfully as she dragged her hair that was sweeping the floor alongside her before she suddenly turned into dust.

Catherine froze on the spot as was still trying to understand what's going on.

Lucas wore back his mask and suddenly hugged her from behind.

"Baby, let's not think about it. I will figure something out". He said coldly as he wondered who all these people are that are seeing bad visions about his wife and causing her to worry.

"But she said I touched the water". Catherine said in confusion as she stared into his black grey eyes.
