Lucas pulled her into a hug and kissed her forehead in a loving manner.
"Don't worry, we will figure out a way out of this. Let's get back to the castle now. It's almost time for dinner and minister Cony will be coming soon". He said as he changed the topic to avoid her from worrying too much.
Catherine nodded her head as she allowed him carry her in his arms before his wings appeared and they once again soared in the sky.
They arrived back at the castle.
On arrival at the castle,
Catherine held Lucas hand tightly as though she was worried.
As if sensing her worry, Lucas squeezed her hand softly as though reassuring her gently.
They walked towards the dinning room where they believed the royal family were gathered.
The two maids who were standing outside the dinning room moved aside when they saw both of them coming.
Meanwhile, in the dinning room,
King Henry was sipping from his cup while minister Cony was standing, bowing his head down.
Lucas and Catherine stepped inside the hall, making every one who were chattering paused to turn to look at the couple.
Queen Riley scoffed but didn't dare say anything in fear of attracting Lucas wrath once again. The last time he had strangled her was so scary that she didn't want to imagine it again.
"Greetings to your royal majesties". Catherine greeted head bow while Lucas simply ignored and walked towards his mother Queen Tira.
"Mother!" He greeted her as he kissed her knuckles.
Queen Tira smiled at her son before her gaze fell on Cathy.
"Welcome kids!" She said with a smile.
King Henry didn't say anything as he was already used to his son unfilial behavior.
"Get seated and let's start the procedure". King Henry said coldly, while Lucas and Catherine made their way to sit on their respective seats.
Once seated, minister Cony cleared his throat to start.
"Good evening my king and Queens". He greeted as he cleared his throat.
"So...? The death that happened some nights ago was said to be have happened by one of the royal princes of the castle can you state your findings on who murdered most of the villagers? King Henry briefly explained.
Minister Cony's eyes dilated as it fell on prince Levi. Lucas caught the subtle movement and smirked.
"Note that once you tell a lie I'm front of the monarch, your head will be hanging at the gates of the border." Lucas said menacingly as cold chills ran down on their backs.
Minister Cony's heart skip a beat at the threat. He knew most of the royal family were vampires so he didn't dare lie to avoid being killed.
He closed his eyes to calm his racing heart and started,
"Apparently, his royal highness Lucas is innocent of all charges pressed against him". He said in a bare audible voice which flared up Levi.
"WHAT NONSENSE ARE YOU SPOUTING OUT?" Levi roared angrily as his green eyes turned red in fury.
Minister Cony fell on his knees as his body trembled violently like never before.
King Henry frowned deeply as he said in a commanding tone,
"Don't interrupt!"
Levi clenched his fists tightly as he remained seated on the seat.
Minister Cony finally looked up and narrated every thing that happened that night and cleared Lucas name.
Once he was done, the king told him to go and faced Levi coldly.
"Guards!" He barked angrily and three guards rushed in head bow.
Levi suddenly stood up in rage and was about to escape when all of a sudden, the door slammed shut and locked.
Everyone froze, including Catherine.
Cathy slowly turned to look at her husband as though she knew he was the one.
Lucas gave her a faint smile through his eyes.
As if understanding him, she placed her hands on his lap to calm him down.
King Henry stood up furiously.
"You are the next heir to my throne when I retire, but you decided to misuse your powers. From now henceforth, I remove you as the crown Prince of Eldrida kingdom". With that said, the king stormed out of the dinning whje Lucas quietly unlock the door.
Levi glared coldly at Lucas as though he was going to kill him.
"I.will seek my revenge". He muttered under his breath as he stormed out of the dinning.
Queen Riley was so shocked she didn't expect her husband to remove her son as the crown Prince, who then would be the crown Prince if not Levi? She thought as she stood up and left the dinning.
The rest of the family had their meals quietly and once they were done, they left. Lucas told Catherine he was coming as he wanted to send Mason to find out why the Duke and his wife were coming to Eldrida.
Catherine sat in their chamber as many thoughts slowly drifted her mind. The first was of what the banshee had told her and also the nightmare. While she was lost in thought, she suddenly felt icy chills ran down her spine. Goosebumps slowly crept her skin as her hair stood up.
What was this feeling? She thought as she stood up to go lock the window. Maybe, it wanted to rain.
Just as she took another step towards the window, she heard a deep cold voice that made her stomach churn.
"Hello Catherine my dear daughter in law!"
Her heart beat froze in shock as she had never heard this voice before in her life.
She slowly turned to look behind her as her eyes caught sight of a tall figured man standing in the shadows.
Her lips parted to talk,
"Who are you?" She asked with a wart voice as her heart began to race in fear and worry as she wondered where her husband was.
"I'm the devil!" He replied calmly and her heart leaped in her throat as she didn't know what to say.
"Like the devil in the Bible?" She voiced out her thoughts.
