Catherine swallowed hard as fear engulf her and she was about to call out to Lucas when she heard him say,

It's a long story my child. For you to kill the vampires, you'd have to go back to Calanthor, but you need the help of your husband. " The devil said as he access her with her gaze before shaking his head.

"I don't know what you are talking about Mr devil ". She said quietly and the devil laughed at the way she addressed him. Soon, she will call him dad in law instead of Mr devil.
"The earlier you both get intimate, the earlier your killing powers are activated. Soon, the king will be poisoned and be killed, by that time, the throne will be in chaos. " He explained and suddenly vanished as though he was sensing Lucas presence.
Catherine closed her eyes as she felt so sick with all the information she just heard from this mysterious person called the devil. She remained rooted on the ground not sensing her husband's presence.
Lucas who had felt a strong powerful presence teleported into the room when he saw his wife standing in the middle of the room. He frowned and walked towards her before pulling her close to himself.
"Wife, what's wrong? Who was here?" He asked in a calm tone.
Cathy pulled away from him and sigh.
"I think I'm ready to consummate our wedding night ". She said in a quiet voice that made frown.
"You don't look ready to me love. Were you pressured? Who was talking to you?" He asked as his eyes scanned through the room to see if he could see any one in the room.
"I'm ready. I don't want to prolong this. " She said as she stared into his eyes. She didn't know if she was doing the right thing. Lucas had decided to give her time before they could get intimate. And moreover, he was yet to see her nakedness. How could she tell him that the devil was here and told her that the king will soon die?
Lucas didn't say anything and just hold her hand and pulled her to the bed to sit.

Cathy swallowed hard before parting her lips to tell him who had come to visit her. And also everything the devil had mentioned.
Lucas had a blank expression on his face as he wondered how his wife came face to face with the devil. Once she was done, she looked at him with a hopeful look.
"I think he is right. You know I told you soon my brothers will start fighting for the throne. And now their first target is me. " He said and Catherine had a look of confusion in her eyes.
"The king just denounced prince Levi from the rightful heir. "
"That doesn't stop him from doing something dangerous ". Lucas said and Catherine nodded her head in understanding.
"Since the devil said we should consummate our marriage as that can be the only way to unlock your secret powers. The maids will prepare you for tonight ". He said in a sweet tone and kissed her forehead.
Catherine blushed slightly as her heart skip beats.
"Will you be back tonight?" She asked hopefully and Lucas smiled at her.
"Sure, to come and fulfill your wish. Take care". He said and kissed her on the lips before vanishing into thin air. Once he was gone, Catherine decided to prepare for the night as she had heard how first night always hurt. Her cheeks flushed a bright shade of red at the thought of becoming one with her husband.

Duke Clad and Brady were all set on their horses ready to pay a visit to the wizards in the Shimmering crystal coast located at the south.
