Those who drink this spicy red Essence will forever find themselves encountering hyper-competitive individuals who'll want to fight or kill them for one reason or another.
*These rivals will always be equal, slightly above, or slightly below you in strength and skill. Their abilities will be similar to yours. They will more often than not be foils to you in some way.
*Even if it doesn't make sense in a hypothetical scenario when you're astronomically stronger than anyone else in the world you're currently in, Fate will conspire to create at least one for you to deal with and it'll be very difficult for you to prevent this.
*Your rivals have a similar growth rate to you, and will be constantly aiming to get stronger, so if you slack off they will surpass you with ease.
*While you can certainly kill these rivals, you will never be without at least one active rival for more than a year at the very most. It's easier to just simply have 2-3 around that you like. That'll usually stop this Essence from activating and creating more. In addition if you have some sort of Plot Armor then so do they, and theirs will be just as strong as yours is. So killing a rival will always be a hassle.
*It is not impossible for you to befriend a rival, but it'll be incredibly hard to pull this off even if you have enhanced charisma of some kind. Plus you'll usually have to beat them in a fight beforehand. Even if you succeed they'll still want to get stronger and compete with you, they'll just be friendlier about it.
