Chapter 304: The Time to Resist Has Come
There was no doubt—Allen's hair turning red was a hallmark of the Burning Blood of Fury skill.
However, in its base form, the skill alone wasn't enough to reverse the tide of battle when facing such overwhelming odds.
Once again sent flying, Allen used the momentum to flee in the direction of the Annihilation Zerg army.
Boom!
Lightning erupted in all directions, annihilating tens of thousands of enemies in an instant.
"Stop!"
Seeing his opponent refuse to engage head-on, the Slaughterer was furious.
But the problem was—this guy just wouldn't die. Worse yet, he had this damn smug look on his face that only made him more infuriating the longer he looked at it.
"Come catch me, dummy!"
Allen exuded nothing but smugness, continuously unleashing lightning strikes to decimate the Zerg.
"I'll tear you limb from limb!"
At this point, the Slaughterer could no longer bother with giving orders. All he could think about was killing Allen and ending the fight quickly to minimize casualties.
What he failed to consider, however, was that Allen was a priest. With the blessings of Light of Healing and various support skills, as long as he didn't suffer a fatal blow, he could shrug off attacks with impunity.
As bolts of lightning rained down again and again, the death toll of the Annihilation Zerg skyrocketed—comparable even to their casualties in a full-scale war against one of the cosmic empires.
Of course, Allen wasn't an idiot. He wouldn't waste his efforts on meaningless slaughter.
His true goal was to rack up Kill Points—waiting to trigger Bloodbath Form.
Hmm?
Just as the Slaughterer prepared to strike again, he suddenly realized—Allen was nowhere to be found.
"Got you."
To his shock, Allen had somehow slipped in beside him, grabbing one of his sharp claws with a smug grin on his face.
An ominous feeling welled up from within—a sense of death creeping closer.
At that moment, Allen's entire body radiated blood-red heat. With his wicked smile, he looked like a blood-soaked god of slaughter.
Upon activating Bloodbath Form, Allen instantly went into stealth mode.
After all, his speed still couldn't match the Slaughterer's. He could only wait for an opening and strike when least expected.
"Eighty…"
Boom!
A hammer strike landed.
The Slaughterer finally understood the terror he was facing.
In an instant, his entire body felt like it was about to fall apart.
With the Thunder God's Divinity boosting him, Burning Blood of Fury doubling all stats, and the Bloodfang Armament adding another layer of Bloodshadow damage, the combined attack power was monstrous.
The fact that the Slaughterer could survive even a single hit was already a testament to his strength.
If it had been the Hulk instead, a few hits like that would've sent him spiraling into depression.
"Congratulations, you won the prize—here's another hammer."
Boom!
Splurt!
The second strike landed.
Unable to endure the devastating blow a second time, the Slaughterer's body exploded on the spot.
Chunks of flesh, mixed with dark green blood, scattered across the battlefield—proof that this King of the Annihilation Zerg was well and truly dead.
"Damn, that took a lot of effort. I had to fake being weak for so long just to kill one bug."
To Allen, this so-called "bug" was, in the eyes of the galaxy's civilizations, a near-apocalyptic demonic entity.
"How is this possible?!"
"How is this possible?!"
The Annihilator and Queen of Xandar, though in different places, cried out in unison upon witnessing the scene.
The Annihilator was in disbelief. The Slaughterer hadn't even lasted two hits—he was totally unworthy of his status as the second strongest among the Zerg royalty.
This sudden realization made it clear: Allen was not to be underestimated. Sending more royal elites would just be sending lambs to the slaughter. He immediately issued a new command.
"Calamity King, Doomsayer, Void Reaper, Slaughter Lord, Obliterator—kill him immediately!"
The Annihilator no longer cared about capturing Allen alive. That would come at too great a cost. A clean kill would save the army more efficiently.
"Yes, Your Majesty."
Five Annihilation Zerg kings of vastly different forms immediately moved out, executing the order without hesitation.
They now recognized Allen as the primary obstacle to their conquest of the universe—he had to be eliminated at all costs.
"Isn't he supposed to be a Yellow Lantern? Why would he help us?"
Queen Xandar couldn't make sense of it. The last time she saw Allen, he seemed like a madman. But now, he was proving to be far more reliable than any Green Lantern.
The universe was facing annihilation, and the Green Lantern Corps hadn't lifted a finger. All their talk of justice and responsibility had turned out to be empty words.
"Your Majesty, perhaps he's assigned to this sector, and is protecting his turf from invasion?" an official speculated.
"Regardless of the reason, if he's here to help Planet Xandar, then he is our ally. Order the Nova Corps—hold the line at all costs to delay the enemy!"
Then Queen Xandar added, "Broadcast Allen's resistance live on the StarNet. Call upon all who are willing to rise up against the Annihilation Zerg."
"Yes, Your Majesty."
The footage was uploaded and broadcast on StarNet, where viewers across the galaxy tuned in through every available platform.
"Who is that guy? He's incredible—he just took out a Zerg king!"
"I know who he is—that's Allen, the leader of the Guardians of the Galaxy!"
"From now on, Allen's my idol."
"Can he really stand alone against the Annihilation Zerg? I mean, even the three great cosmic empires have already surrendered…"
"Let's pray Allen can turn the tide. May he return safely."
Comments poured in across the StarNet, expressing awe and admiration for Allen.
Though the Annihilation Zerg seemed far too powerful to defeat, people still hoped for a miracle—a hero who could turn the tide.
At the same time, the leaders of all Lantern Corps were watching via StarNet.
Allen's fearless battle against the Zerg deeply moved them.
Faced with true catastrophe, they had chosen to retreat—now they were overcome with guilt and shame.
They once despised Allen, but now, all they felt was respect and admiration.
---
"Green Lantern Corps, assemble!"
Abin Sur declared solemnly, "We must fulfill our duty as Green Lanterns—expel the invading slaughterers!"
---
"Yellow Lantern Corps, assemble!"
Sinestro commanded, "Mobilize all forces—wipe out those damned bugs!"
---
"Red Lantern Corps, assemble!"
Atrocitus roared, "Kill all the Annihilation Zerg—I don't want to see those vermin dancing on our graves!"
---
"Blue Lantern Corps, assemble!"
Saint Walker spoke devoutly, "My friends, now is the time to spread hope."
---
"Indigo Lantern Corps, assemble!"
Indigo-1 cried out passionately, "Saving the masses is the greatest act of compassion!"
---
"Violet Lantern Corps, assemble!"
Carol shouted, "Sisters, I refuse to bow down to bugs!"
---
Larfleeze clutched the orange power battery and sneered, "It's about time the Orange Lantern Wraiths came out to play…"
---
Meanwhile, in the distant planetary ring of the Colossus Beasts—
The new King of the Spartan Empire, Bier, stared silently at Allen's terrifying display of power on screen, then finally made a decision.
"Relay the order to the military—deploy the fleet to face the Annihilation Zerg."
It was a decision made after deep consideration.
King Bier had already gathered intel on how the Zerg had treated the three cosmic empires. Surrender was clearly not an option—war was inevitable.
