As she spoke, Josephine's gaze flicked pointedly to Genesis's phone, which was lying face-down on the table, the exact opposite of how anyone normally places their phone.
"I think Miss Four Seas is leaning toward option two," Josephine concluded with a knowing smirk.
Genesis stiffened, her face flushing a deep, furious red. She'd been caught.
Josephine had been right on the money. Genesis had never planned to actually hand over five million.
Her plan was to record the conversation and let Kieran deal with the 'gold-digger' later.
She just hadn't expected the other woman to be so sharp, to see right through her.
Just then, Josephine's phone buzzed. She pulled it out and saw Kieran's name on the screen. She answered quickly.
"Where are you?" Kieran's gentle voice came through the line.
"I'm currently… negotiating with the young lady from Four Seas Properties," Josephine said, her tone light. "You know, the marriage prospect your family lined up for you."
