Matchday 35: Aldershot Town vs. Crawley Town(A)
Crawley Town arrived at the Recreation Ground after a good week. Their 2–0 win over Rochdale had taken them to 63 points and kept them fourth in League Two, just two points behind third. Promotion was still within reach.
The FA Cup quarter-final against West Ham United was also getting closer. It was scheduled for March 29, and the team was still getting plenty of attention after knocking Burnley out of the competition. But Niels didn't want anyone thinking too far ahead. Aldershot was the next job.
The team bus left Crawley early in the morning. The journey to Aldershot took about an hour. Most of the players were quiet, either listening to music or talking among themselves.
Max Simons sat by the window. The captain had scored twice against Rochdale and was looking confident going into another important game.
