Chapter 96: The Decision

Niels woke up to his phone buzzing on the table beside him.
He reached for it and saw a long list of messages. There were emails, texts and Twitter notifications. Most of them were about the same thing.
His future.
Barnsley wanted him. Nottingham Forest wanted him. Mainz and Torino were interested too.
Niels put the phone down and rubbed his face. He was already tired of thinking about it.
Crawley was the one thing that made the decision difficult.
He got dressed and went outside. The morning was cold and the sky was grey.
The town seemed quieter than usual. People knew what was happening, and Niels had the feeling that everyone was waiting to see what he would do.
He walked toward the train station.
The newspapers at the newsstand immediately caught his attention.
One headline asked:
"Crawley's Niels: Europe's Next Big Thing?"
Another read:
"Niels Fever Grips Football!"
A German newspaper had gone even further:
