While they ate, the atmosphere at the table was not entirely friendly. Neither of them had exchanged a single word, and the heavy air was making Lucian feel a little uncomfortable.
He felt pressured because he knew that he would eventually have to tell Nathan what had happened. Even though he had already told him the part that interested him the most, he was not sure what else Nathan would want to talk about.
For Lucian, these types of accidents happened from time to time. Not having seen his father for a long time, it surprised him more than other occasions, but it still didn't shock him as much as Nathan seemed to be.
He glanced at Nathan and noticed the way his eyebrows were still furrowed.
He couldn't stand it. Not for a second longer.
"Okay! I know it looks bad, but I swear it isn't what you think!" Lucian finally snapped, his eyes full of confidence while he secretly pressed his hand tightly against the corner of the table.
